Left-wing bloggers have unearthed a new, Deep Important Issue to wield against Sarah Palin:
The personal tanning bed she installed at the governor’s mansion in Alaska.
She bought the used tanning bed from a health club with her own money.
So, what is the point?
Oh, wait, there is none.
But it’s a great opportunity for Palin-haters to mock her looks again and for Obama cultist publisher Jann Wenner to use Us Weekly to bash Palin again:
Some of the nutroots haters seriously argue that Palin’s tanning bed is a sign of “elitism” akin to John Edwards’ $400 haircuts.
Here’s the TPM Muckraker blog clucking its tongue:
“The news of Palin’s luxurious purchase — beds can cost as much as $35,000 — presents a sharp contrast to the blue-collar persona she projects on the campaign trail.”
Can they be more out of touch? Tanning beds have long been derided as “white trash” and “redneck.”
The “elitist” thing to do would have been for Sarah to have hired a personal umbrella carrier to shield her from the sun.
Next up: Us Weekly and company investigate the Sarah Palin’s eyebrow waxing appointments, Todd Palin’s beard grooming preferences, and the children’s dental hygiene habits.

Excellent question! The answer is easy. She is totally clueless on economy, domestic and foreign policy issues and it would be a disgrace to [s]elect somebody like her. She is probably not as dumb as Bush, still she is not the right person for the job. I’m pretty much sure she cannot even find Asia or Europe on a map, let alone understand what’s going on overseas.
Obama and his supporters, media included, are completely rattled and hysterical simply because they genuinely do not understand the people that they expect to rule, not lead, but rule.

Sarah looked so good out here in Colorado! She had a HUGE crowd, but I looked in the Rocky Mountaini News, and sure enough, the photo is taken so as not to show the crowds–there were groups of women there holding up tubes of lipstick! On the other hand, photos of Obama were taken from a distance to give the appearance of these gigantic turnouts–it is very deceptive. All of the photos of Obama were much bigger than those of Sarah. Anyway, she looked very fit, trim, professional, and tanned—-you go, girl!

How about saying that tanning beds run up to $35,000 when a REALLY fancy one goes for maybe $5000-6000?

First of all, you know as well as I do that the so-called Bush Doctrine never was just one specific “plan”, but just a name the media gave to many of Pres. Bush’s policies. So get off that. It has been discussed to death. I am also very tired of hearing about certain things being just a continuation of Bush. So what??? He had some very good policies that need to be continued. The only people who think George Bush is satan are the lefties. Continuing some of his policies is a GOOD thing. Cutting taxes is something George Bush did and continuing that is necessary. Four more years of the Bush Administration? Bring it on!

I recall a certain Mr. Obama found that shopping in Germany was a “better use of his time” than visiting wounded soldiers because he couldn’t make a photo op out of it.

When we joked about Edwards getting a $400 haircut it really just went along with the rest of his persona. Trying to paint Palin as an elitist is an attempt to harm her image.

Gov. Palin is going on Hannity…I think tonight. Of course, she will be criticized for giving an interview to a right-winger who will go easy on her. On the other hand, most lefties are afraid to go on any FOX program for fear of being crucified. Whenever I see one of them on FOX, I am under the impression they have been treated very fairly. Alaska has long periods of dark days. She might have the tanning bed as a means to provide the effects of sun light. The lack of sun light can cause depression for some people.
This is my favorite of the day. I do recognize that Obama going to Trinity for 20 years and being associated (albeit loosely) with a former terrorist makes him less than a perfect candidate, to put it nicely. I’m the first to admit that before it was between him and Hillary (and John Edwards), I was Mr. Barack-Obama-Give-Me-A-Break.

The term at Matanuska-Susitna College could very well have been a summer term. Many people who go to an out of town or out of state college pick up a couple of credits closer to home over the summer. I know it may be hard for liberal elites to understand, but a lot of people can’t afford to go four straight years to an out-of-state or private college. They may start at a community college and transfer, or do a semester or two close to home to reduce the expenses of going to school out of state. It is also common to take more than 4 years to complete a degree, especially if one is working during the school year.

Good grief. I try really hard to keep up with popular culture, but I had never heard of this one. I’ve never used a tanning bed myself but only because I try to keep my natural, pure whiteness unblemished (that’s a joke, people!), so what I’m trying to understand is why would a “redneck” want a tanning bed? Wouldn’t there be the risk of turning all red as a result?
I’m just utterly and honestly confused regarding this. In any event, I can imagine an awful lot of “Us Weekly’s” readers using or wanting such beds.

But there are also many things he did right and I still think he is better than an Obama!!! While I do think Pres. Bush has lost his way on a number of things, he still did what he thought was right and I believe history will show him in a better light.

While Palin did actually graduate from college, the fact that she received credits from other colleges is trivial. It took me 3 colleges to receive my Computer Science degree because I was in the Air Force during college, and ended up moving around a lot. Once again, your liberal argument doesn’t hold water, so maybe you’re the one that should stop carrying it around.
About three months ago US Weekly started showing up in my mail. I toss it out.
Now, I simply take the postcards (2 per magazine) asking me to purchase the subscription, write a note on the back about how I support Sarah Palin and drop them in the mail. I send in two postcards a week. Last week I went to the grocery store, picked up 5 magazines, shook them and mailed in 10 postcards.
This is my simple protest. Easy to do. Each postcard costs .42$ to mail, then it has to be processed.

Have you seen any of them without make-up? Yuck. And few of them possess the inner beauty that results from being a really nice, genuine, moral person.

Can’t blame the Obamamites for smearing Gov. Palin. It’s an old strategy – to misdirect your opponent and hide your weakness in defense, adopt the offensive mode, using everything at your disposal, including lies and innuendoes. My mom out of the blue was sent two issues of Us Magazine, including the Sarah Is Satan issue, for some “four issues free” offer. The offer in itself is a ripoff; they keep sending you the mags and bill you for them unless you proactively cancel the magazine. I helped my mom send an e-mail back saying, “Thanks but no thanks.” They are indeed getting desperate.

You have a point there…I don’t have any close personal relationships with Hollywood A-listers, nor would I ever want to. However, I do watch the news and read the papers. I see the drug abuse, divorce rate, suicides, drunk driving arrests, spouse stealing, etc. that goes on in Hollywood as a matter of course. It is obvious that the moral standards out there is not the same as regular, normal Americans. Sorry, it is just a fact. And don’t tell me that normal Americans also do those things. Yes,some do, but a majority of Hollywood actors have those kinds of morals as their normal lifestyle. Now, I really must go. Have fun.
The Governors Mansion in Illinois has a heated driveway. Gov. Hairspray does not even live there and his travel to/from Chicago are on the taxpayers. Which is worse? Oh, I forgot to mention, Rezko went to jail because of Gov. Bag-O-Chips.

A good example is to check the major liberal strong hold cities and see when the last time they had a Republican Mayor. Also check out the problems they are enmeshed in and it keeps getting worse – welfare; crime; bankrupcy, fraud, waste, and the list goes on.

San Diego’s not liberal. Our financial problems here were started by and enabled by liberal council members and unions. Aside from these clowns, we’re a decidedly Conservative city. There are many others. All as wealthy, diverse, international, and well educated as any other place.

Speaking of sexist commentary on Palin’s appearance, our local paper, the Rocky Mountain News, had several articles about the candidate’s appearances here yesterday. The article on Palin described what she was wearing but the article on Obama didn’t. Since both articles were accompanied by pictures, what the heck does her clothing have to do with anything?
