I spent an hour reading the whole exchange from Nyk and other posters here. Not once, not one time, did Nyk bring up the fact that among "people of color" (gag me--this is another liberal made up PC expression)there are such terrible racial slurs expressed (listen to ANY Hip-Hop rap song for proof). I don't see her criticizing them for the kind of hate-filled, woman demoralizing, racial slurs I hear "people of color" using everyday. Give me a major break! She is trying so hard to impress us with her intellectuallizing, she sure doesn't criticize her "brothers and sisters" for freely tossing around the "N" word. I can't stand her constant drumming on about how racist this country is. AND, another thing, if former military people (like me)want to put in our two cents about military things--we earned our right to do so.

What bothers me most about this whole rant is that she is accusing posters on this site of using vile racial terminology. I have been reading the comments on this site for over a year and have NEVER seen those words used. Where is she getting that? To be accused of using horrible racial epithets really disturbs me and give us all a black eye. Wait...nyk, I didn't mean to say black eye. Gives us all a bad reputation. I know MM does not tolerate hate language and would have banned anyone who used it. NYK is totally delusional.

Well thank the goddess for nyk. I am converted. If it wasn't for such knowledgeable, well informed, intelligent well read individuals like that, I might just have lived out the rest of my life accepting responsibility for my own actions, working for everything I have or will get, raising my own children in a loving home, and remained straight with a belief in God that brought me peace of mind.

nyk and all that rational debate carried out by him and the rest of them has shown me the light.

I can't wait to get out there and work for the true messiah, the one I have always waited for, to get him into the Oval Office where I never have to think for myself again, never have to provide for my children or myself ever again, where I can now worship at the altar of ME and Liberalism for ever.

Thank you. You have convinced me and I am sure others here as well. Your work is done. You can now take your crusade elsewhere for there are so many more like I was out there that are starved for your intellectual input. I can't wait until i can start blaming everyone else. Maybe I will start tonight. Woo hoo!

[D]o you just read whatever you want into comments by those you like psychoanalyze in 5 seconds?

Um...only if they, "like," are as easy to decipher as you. And most people who can tie their own shoes are not.

Good night.

There’s never anything “slight” about the criticisms of people of color here that I’ve mentioned. Again — I know it’s beyond your grasp, but racial slurs? Kinda not subtle for most people…I realize that you need overstated, rude, primitive, dirty words to understand bad from good, but for the rest of us, a simple “raghead” or “wetback” suffices.

Wow, overstate much? Ummmm, criticism= racism? Okay. Yet, the minority who make slurs represents the whole of this blog? Man, you paid way too much for that college education with that kind of rationale.

I should add that your attempt to state that I think GK is a racist was a perfect example of how much you don’t understand the most basic principle of this (and pretty much everything to which you apply your diminutive intellect). GK is a jerk sometimes; he’s never a racist moron. YOU don’t know what racism is. But you are willing to cheapen the definition by pretending you do.

I take the racist part back about GK and just say he likes to toy with you. You see him as a jerk, well, then, it takes a jerk to know one I guess. OMG, the queen of "racism" lecturing about how I "pretend" to know what racism is. So, I guess, the only people who experience racism are those who don't have white skin? Uh huh.

You talk WAY beyond what you know. I realize the sphere of what you know is soooo small (as to be invisible even under an electron microscope) that it’s hard to contain your conversations to it. So, I don’t fault you.

I don't fault you for being an ignorant liberal who can't see the perspectives of other people unless they're contained within your "tiny" world. Liberal projection maybe?

So what was the point in your whole diatribe? To call me a racist and a small-minded bigot because I don't abide by PCism's when they prevent actual dialogue? Did you want to convince me some more that you're incapable of deep thought unless it intensifies "white guilt?" It's nice to see that the liberals have indoctrinated you well and haven't given you an independent thought except to heap insults on those nasty conservatives.

I fear for the future of our country when I have to see blathering pieces of nonsense like yourself lecture me about life. Go enjoy that cultural slice of life known as New York with its crime and noise. I'll take my "suburban backwater" here in Virginia.

Again — I read this and realized remembered you have no idea what you’re talking about. “Black sisterhood?” Really? Did you just watch “Waiting to Exhale”? Is that your point of reference? It has zero to do with anything real.

OMG. Yet another overreaction. I don't base my opinions on a group of people on a dopey film about black chicks who can't find/keep love. Plus, your estimation of my viewing habits is highly overrated. I'm more of a sci-fi, old black and white film gal myself.

You rely on stereotypes, and it’s the closest you’ve probably ever gotten to real life.

Pot meet kettle. Do you know anything about people or real life yourself? Do you even know what you're talking about? About anything?

You're a twit, nyk. That's it. You may have a college education but it really doesn't recommend anything about you. What do you know of "real life" except what you confront in your own inner sphere?

I've had more honest, enlightening coversations with 8th graders than I've had with you. You're more concerned with being the "cool," "hip" chick on the cutting edge of her alternative 20's but can't seem to string together a phrase devoid of emotion, irationalism, or racism assessment.

And for the record, if you think I’M militant (a punk-rock bred, indie rock band loving, suburbia-escaping girl) black girl, you are in for a sad awakening when you meet a REAL black militant.

I could really care less about your music tastes. What does music even have to do with this discussion? Oh, that's right...NOTHING.

I said militant liberal, not militant black panther. Do you understand word usage and context? Or do you just read whatever you want into comments by those you like psychoanalyze in 5 seconds?

People using out-and-out racist terms (”n*gger, rag head, wetback”) is not “joking around about PCisms.” Subverting political correctness — and I want you to understand this, but I doubt you will — has nothing to do with calling people the worst thing you can BASED SOLELY ON THEIR RACE. Telling people to (and I quote) “Go back to Africa” (what year is it?) — I’m sure that’s funny to people like you. To most people I know (many of whom, for the record, are NOT people of color…but includes others who are), it isn’t. And if you think that’s just “funny” — well that makes perfect sense in light of everything you’ve ever written.

I have never used any of the racial epithets that you have mentioned and neither do most of the posters on here. I referred to one incident of some black councilman in Atlanta (?) taking offense to the term "black hole." This is what I'm talking about.

The whole "go back to Africa" comment is something that you're generalizing. I think one of my commentaries I've made is that if black people really have it so "rough" and don't think that they can contribute anything positive to their own communities, how 'bout going to Africa (say the PeaceCorps) and doing some good there. I'll take it further and say that poverty in this country, including in urban areas, is nothing like what exists in Africa and something that black Americans need to keep in perspective.

Your rant is rather immature and one-sided. I do not take delight in racial epithets. I've been on the other side of black racism where it was implied that I was too stupid to get "black people."

I think our country is ruled by political correctness that is deliberately raised by people like you, nyk, in every incidence that slightly implies something "racist." We're so sensitive as a society that we don't have any kind of honest dialogue about race because that would challenge the victimization my name is nyk meme a little too much.

People like me? You know nothing about me except what you've got summed up in that little, militant liberal head of yours.

GK isn’t a racist. I may call him an idiot sometimes, but he NEVER resorts to racial namecalling. EVER. EVER.

I don't think you even know what racism is. You bring out racism every time you imagine a "wrong" or some slight or criticism toward you or someone of "color."

You are the QUEEN (and king) bloviator on any and EVERYthing relating to the military. I just wanted to hear your amazing insights, since you always bring it up — shoehorning it in, whenever there’s an opportunity (and even when there isn’t).

I find that I'm criticized the most by liberals for bringing up my military spouseness because they identify that as some kind of irrelevance, even on issues such as oh, the military or the presidential race. I bring it up when it's pertinent or to somebody I talk to regularly. That would not be you, because frankly, with your every action, you demonstrate that you don't get the military.

I think, if anything, I confront your ignorance on many issues, including the military. I speak out on certain issues that affect me directly such as military spouse discrimination, which exists, or other military-related issues that are important to me and that I talk a lot about, not just on this blog, but on military spouse groups sites, and in the community.

I notice that you and mj seem to be the queens of blackness, ills, and wrongs. You bloviate about your militant liberalism an awful lot. Yet you
"bloviate" on stuff that you either don't want to research or learn for yourself because you neither have the interest or time. So, you rely on a biased media to fill in the gaps.

I talk about what I know. You talk about what you think you know and add in some lies and mischaracterization. That's the difference.

I get what you’re doing but I just avoid tangling with the pious, black sisterhood of mj and nyk about race.

Again -- I read this and <strike>realized</strike> remembered you have no idea what you're talking about. "Black sisterhood?" Really? Did you just watch "Waiting to Exhale"? Is that your point of reference? It has zero to do with anything real. You rely on stereotypes, and it's the closest you've probably ever gotten to real life.

And for the record, if you think I'M militant (a punk-rock bred, indie rock band loving, suburbia-escaping girl) black girl, you are in for a sad awakening when you meet a REAL black militant.
