lgm, isn’t the United States a voluntary federation of individual states? Not just a glob of contiguous real estate, but separately functioning entities that willingly come together for the betterment of the whole, and that reserve the right to challenge that “wholeness” when it is no longer for the betterment of all.

Obviously, an unnecessary warning for regular posters to the comments threads of the Daily Malkin. Unless the children are significantly better educated than the parents seem to be, I doubt they could get accepted in the first place.
