I liked the difference between the way the McCain’s were treated, compared to the Obama’s. I especially liked how Barbara Walters never made eye contact with McCain, but the disdain on her face spoke for itself. Yet, she had the audacity to “pound” Obama for being sexy. OOOHHHH, she’s tough.

I believe they are so arrogant and they feel so intellectually and morally superior that they will dismiss any complaints and continue as before. To their own detriment, of course.

The undecided voters will hear from both sides and I’m reasonably certain they will come down on ours.

For some reason, they have decided it is o.k. to show their biases now. How hard is that with a giant state and a relatively small population? And why can’t you reform the system while you have to use it (as the only mechanism) to provide funding for your state, that were taken as taxes? (be very careful here…)

ADS – abuse of power derangement syndrome — I break out in a rash whenever someone uses the power of government office to carry out a family vendetta.

IDS – ignorance derangement syndrome — I get headaches whenever a candidate for the executive of the U S of A doesn’t understand the basics of the US energy economy or US foreign policy.

Now this is one I get with Obama! As a non-executive, and one vote (present!) out of 100, I don’t see any serious energy or economic accomplishments or qualifications on his part. And a whirlwind tour of Europe and the Middle East (when committing treasonous manipulation of the foreign policy of an elected president) is hardly “foreign experence.”

So go put some ice on that, will ya?

BTW don’t you love the fact that Obama “says” he wants to cut taxes to 85% of the population, down from 95%, when in fact under the bush tax policy, only 60% of the population pays taxes? This in effect means he will give 40% of the population MORE money funded by the 15%. This on top of universal health care, increased social spending, continuing the war etc etc etc. while STILL “cuting taxes for 85%”. LGM may not be able to do the math, but even if the economy remains good, there is no way this tax base could cover that much.

I would imagine that the Palin Governorship has earmarks that are:

    1) Already in place from a previous administration

    2) An earmark properly spent

    3) Little waste actually attributable to Palin

Funny lgm lives in a state and city chock full of waste, and he has the nerve to complain about Alaska.

Here are the “Wassila” earmark details:

Because the earmarks included “Wasilla” in the description, each is attributed (falsely) to the Mayor. Many are the Alaska Railroad, AK Dept of Transportation, and Borough (AK version of county). From the provided data below (from “Taxpayers For Common Sense”), less than $6 M can be inferred as the City of Wasilla and includes FY 2003.

$27,250,000 attributed to Wasilla area during 1996-2002 including AKRR, DOT, Borough, City, etc. on the data sheet
$5,750,000 might be assigned to the City of Wasilla requests
    $21,500,000 others

    “Wasilla” Earmark Specifics:

    [Not City Earmarks]

$1,000,000 Transportation FY2000 Wasilla intermodal facility
$15,000,000 Transportation FY2001 Girdwood to Wasilla, Alaska, commuter rail project
    $500,000 Transportation FY2002 Federal lands: Mat-Su Borough/Wasilla, Alaska
$2,500,000 Transportation FY2002 New starts: Wasilla, Alaska, alternative route project
$900,000 Omnibus FY2003 Wasilla Intermodal Facility
$800,000 Omnibus FY2003 Wasilla Airport, AK
$800,000 Omnibus FY2003 Matanuska-Susitna Borough for an agricultural processing facility in Wasilla, Alaska

    [Possible City Earmarks]

$500,000 VA-HUD FY2001 Kids are People, Inc. for a transitional living program for homeless youth and an emergency shelter in Wasilla, Alaska
$500,000 Omnibus FY2001 Life Quest Community Mental Health Center in Wasilla, Alaska
$1,000,000 CJS FY2002 Wasilla Regional Dispatch Center in Alaska for technology and communications upgrades
$600,000 Transportation FY2002 Bus and bus facilities: City of Wasilla bus facility
$1,500,000 VA-HUD FY2002 Wasilla, Alaska water and sewer improvements
$750,000 Omnibus FY2003 City of Wasilla, Alaska for a regional dispatch center
$900,000 Omnibus FY2003 Wasilla, Alaska for water and sewer improvements

There are over 40,000 lobbyists working in Washington, D.C. on behalf of mayors, governors, businesses, foreign countries, cancer research groups, tobacco companies, oil companies, car companies, non-profit organizations, churches, victim advocate groups, environmentalists, and the list goes on and on. Lobbying is how much of the government’s business gets addressed.

Lobbyists can be good or bad, but not all government spending is wrong.

I’ve got that PDS pretty bad. It turns out that my defenses against infection were weakened by other diseases I caught earlier:

LDS – liar derangement syndrome — It drives me crazy to hear someone who secured more per capita pork than any other governor claim to be anti pork.

Spin it by per-capita. Bet it looks good per square mile though.

Earmarks aren’t all bad. And she reduced her state’s earmarks significantly. How’s that compare to Blue states? Ans: Alaska looks pretty good.

ADS – abuse of power derangement syndrome — I break out in a rash whenever someone uses the power of government office to carry out a family vendetta.

Read the report. She fired the Public Safety guy, Monhegan (sp?) because he was grossly insubordinate. Stick to the facts please. This story is a farce.

IDS – ignorance derangement syndrome — I get headaches whenever a candidate for the executive of the U S of A doesn’t understand the basics of the US energy economy or US foreign policy.

Just toss that baseless statement out. Looks good to KoS trollers. She “gets” both. She’s not an expert in them, but neither was Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, Reagan, Clinton or GWB. And while Kennedy and LBJ had genius advisers to help (like Obama does) their foreign policy records were disasters. You recall Viet Nam? As was Carter’s. (444 Days…) Reagan.. who got ZERO credit going into office… achieved Foreign Policy Greatness.

If you like Sarah the new phrase to describe her supporters is “white trash’ or “brown trash” or” black trash”. To make it easy, we’re all just trash. This is the first political campaign where the advocates of a candidate were besmirched so viciously without provocation. The MSM is overtly denigrating both the candidate and there backers.

LGM are you back? I thought we aborted you. You must have survived regardless of Obamas abortion bill and were resuscitated. With all we know of science, can’t we selectively choose the liberals to abort? Now that’s choice I can believe in.

Hmmm…….LGM makes one comment and the rest of the thread is filled with responses to that comment…..

Seems to me that with the federal government merrily taking away freedoms, digging the deficit hole deeper, fecklessly bailing out the rich and well-connected, fighting two wars, paying lip service to fighting corruption in Washington D.C., making sure that they practice CYA on their most favored members (republican and democrat alike), giving us two candidates for president that really aren’t that different…..

ehhh….I could go on but why bother?

Keep lambasting LGM if it makes you feel better. I don’t feed trolls….

A couple of points that maybe fall under the “irony” category: 1. Michelle states that there is such hatred from people on the left towards people on the right yet she displays that exact same kind of hatred herself. When discussing the women on The View, she immediately resorted to name calling and her face scrunched up not being able to hide her disdain. She was doing exactly the same thing that those women do. Conservative do exactly the same things liberals do, especially people like Hannity and Limbaugh who do nothing but personally attack people who have opinions contrary to theirs. 2. Ultimate hypocrisy, one guy I think that Doocey guy, was complaining that they only had one toke liberal on the show: HELLO has he looked at his own network! Kind of reminds me of a quote (I think from Anais Nin): We don’t see things as they are, we see them as WE are.

You know, the worst part of LGM showing up is that after he posts, well over half the remaining posts on the thread are all aimed at him. This gets so tiresome.

He must giggle all day knowing how much control he has here.

Watching F&F in the hope that Michelle will make an appearance (by the time I see her “Where in the World” posts it’s almost always too late) is like the old days of buying an LP album, hoping that among all the crap there’d be one really good song on it: Most of the time you sadly discover that you’ve just purchased another specimen to add to the “frisbee” collection, but you luck out just often enough to keep coming back to the record store.

And even when I’m rewarded, as I was this morning, there’s still mixed feelings. On the one hand, it’s “There she is — break out the party hats and the kazoos!” On the other hand, when the segment’s over, comes the realization that it’s not yet even 6:00 AM and the rest of the day is all downhill…
