Chicago thug urges cultists to get thuggish, too; offers housing/hotel incentives

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 18, 2008 11:27 AM

He has unleashed his lawyers on TV stations airing ads he doesn’t want the public to see and GOP donors he doesn’t want participating in the political process.

He has tried to shut down investigative journalists and radio talk show hosts.

He’s got a team of plumbers playing hardball with those who dare challenge his Holy Name.

He’s got a mob of “Action Wire” goons shouting down critics in every public space. (See Jim Treacher.)

And now, he’s urging all of his followers to get down, dirty, and “in your face:”

Barack Obama sharpened his attacks on John McCain and mocked the Republican’s recent calls for reform in two stops in Nevada on Wednesday after days of listening to nervous supporters fret about the Democrat’s chances of taking the White House.

…The feistier, more sarcastic tone came as worried Democrats urged Obama to get tougher and show more passion. Obama has tried to assure donors and voters that he’s been schooled by Chicago politics.

“I’m skinny but I’m tough,” he says…

…In Elko, Obama tried to anticipate his critics and called on the crowd of about 1,500 to sharpen their elbows, too.

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,” he said.

Yep, a bunch of hysterical Obama cultists and ACORN riff-raff knocking on your door to shout Kossack talking points in your faces, accuse you of racism, call you unpatriotic for not bowing down and forking over more taxes to keep the Mother Ship afloat, and maybe threaten to hack your e-mail, too.

That’ll be persuasive.

***

By the way, the press report notes that there was a “crowd of about 1,500″ at that Nevada rally. Looks like Obama imported some of them from California and offered housing/hotel incentives for them to get “face-to-face.” A reader forwarded the Obama campaign e-mail she received yesterday before Obama’s Nevada swing:

There are less than 50 days to go before November 4th, and Californians have a major role to play as we gear up for Election Day.

Supporters like you have stepped up at office openings and events across the state to declare your support for Barack and take an active role in the campaign. But to win this November, we must continue building our organization across California and keep bringing folks into our grassroots movement — not just here, but all over the country.

That’s why we need your help. As an Obama supporter in California, you can make a huge impact by traveling to Nevada to talk with voters about why Barack Obama and Joe Biden will bring the change we need.

We have a real shot to win in our neighbor state Nevada, but the race is extremely close and you could make the difference.

We are organizing a special trip for Californians travel to Nevada and grow our movement there. Will you take a short trip to Nevada to make a big difference for Barack?

John McCain has made it clear that he intends to continue George W. Bush’s failed policies. Just yesterday, he repeated his belief that “the fundamentals of our economy are strong.”

Here in California, we know that’s not the case. It shows how out of touch McCain is from what’s going on in the lives of ordinary Americans.

The past eight years have been devastating for families in Nevada, California, and across the country, and it’s time for us to say: Enough.

That’s why we’re going to be counting on supporters like you to take a leadership role and travel to Nevada, a crucial battleground, to spread Barack’s message of change.

Face-to-face contact with undecided voters is the single most effective way to grow this movement. No experience is required, and we’ll help you make the trip as easily as possible with either housing in Nevada or discounted group rates at an area hotel.

Sign up for a Drive for Change in Nevada and make a short trip to make a big difference:

Simple, he’s got something to hide. O’Reilly did a crap job of calling him out on it. Hussein should have been hammered on it until he wet his pants and ran away.

Obama has a connection to a terrorist. And he wants to keep it hidden.

The Bradley effect could certainly impact the outcome of this race, but there’s been a significant amount of study of how it relates to Obama’s campaign. According to several articles (a quick search on “Bradley effect” and “Obama” brings up a ton of different articles from authors representing every segment of the political spectrum), “on average, Obama received three percentage points more support in the actual primaries and caucuses than he did during polling” — now labeled the “reverse Bradley effect.” There’s no telling, armed with just poll numbers, to know how the whole thing will turn out, but it’s fascinating to look at all the potential variables.

    Am I reading this right?

Obama’s campaign traveled to Elko, where they EXPECTED to have only 250 people show up??? What is that dollars/vote ratio??

At the Carson City (state capitol, and only 35 miles from Reno) Palin appearance last Saturday, at least 10,000 showed up. GOP strategy was to have Palin appeal to nearby rural voters, but in accessible location for large population. Strategy seemed to work.

Obama rallies about 1,000 supporters in Elko

ELKO — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama today called for tougher regulations on Wall Street investment companies and tax breaks for 95 percent of the U.S. population during speech before about 1,000 supporters at a park.
    ….
The turnout was four times what his campaign had estimated Tuesday in a city where President Bush won by an almost a 4-to-1 margin in 2004.

About 100 people protested Obama’s appearance.

No. Perhaps you’ve misunderstood. There was a run-up to the general election — collectively known as the the “primaries” — during which various sources studied the votes cast by Democrats and compared pre-vote polling results re: Obama to actual outcomes. That means they were studies of votes that HAVE happened:

“on average, Obama received three percentage points more support in the actual primaries and caucuses than he did during polling”

That phenomenon has come to be known as the reverse Bradley effect.

The information gathered about those votes — the ones I mention above — was and continues to be assessed to learn the implications it may hold for the outcome of what’s known as the “general election.” Therefore, I’m actually:

citing studies on a vote THAT HASN’T HAS HAPPENED YET

…and which is still being examined to hypothesize the potential outcome of the current and ongoing race.

Actually, in the states that matter most now, he polled better than he actually did in the voting results. Not the other way around. Meaning, his poll results could be somewhat optimistic.

Source: Real Clear Politics Averages and Results.

    Nevada

    Polled Clinton by 4.0%
    Results Clinton by 5.5%

    Pennsylvania

    Polled Clinton by 6.1%
    Results Clinton by 9.2%

    New Hampshire

    Polled Obama by 8.3%
    Results Clinton by 2.6%

We know Michigan’s story and I can’t locate data for NM or CO.

And also keep in mind that Obama, as I recall, did better in caucuses than he did in primaries.

    Something to think about.

We also don’t know why she didn’t pay them earlier. Seeing as it was less than 2k in missed taxes (including the ‘penalites and interest’, she could easily have made a mistake filing. Obama’s present bleep up is due solely to the MSM, which has used the current economic situation to rev-up Americans’ jitters about who is better suited to handle it, and the way they have pilloried Vice President Elect Palin.

I snicker every time I hear on the news how these “socially conservative” blacks can’t seem to control their own children, have multiple out of wedlock births, are continually victimized by their own race, and continue to elect the same unoriginal, liberal mayors who don’t know anything about economic development (think Kwame Kilpatrick). Nothing will ever get fixed unless they say “no thanks” and take an active role in their own lives. I don’t think you need a community organizer to tell you that either.

    spewing and yelling
    at your neighbors,
    spread the hate…

Can anyone name another Socialist or two who held similar beliefs at “political discourse” and the spreading of their message?

I know, let’s make it a game. Who wants to start?

I heard a clip from some meaningless stump speech of Zerobama on the morning news today, and I swear he is now using Jesse Jackson, Jr. as his speech model.

Dennis Prager last week played back-to-back clips of Obama saying the word “policy” in two different venues. In the O’Reilly interview, he said “pol-i-see.” At his lipstick speech he pronounced it pol-i-seh.

It’s here, on the 9/10 Hour 1 show, about 32 minutes into the program.
