The media does not make Biden admit that he lied when he said he graduated in the top half of his law school class at Syracuse. Actually, he finished 76 out of 85 students, which is about as bad as you can get. Biden is a media darling so he his shady mendacious background never gets exposed. If catastrophically elected, Obama’s tax increases will end the middle class, through excessive unemployment and out of control government spending on social programs, while shifting more citizens into dependent poverty than even the Great Depression. That’s a fact!

Obama has no experience with implementing budgets and exercising fiscal responsibility in anything. He is unfit and ill prepared to be President. In particular, his surrounding himself with people like Jim Johnson, Frank Raines and Tom Dascle shows just how fiscally corrupt an Obama administration would be in managing our economy.

Go President McCain and VP Palin – economic stability we can believe in!

First, lgm, greenspan’s partially responsible for the fiasco we now have with the financial markets. He is not the ‘economist of trust’ you make him out to be, but a liberal hack.

Exports are up and can you explain why our exports are up? Because the value of the dollar is low. When the dollar was strong our exports were low, why? Because the ratio of the dollar to other currencies was too high which prevented the countries from purchasing our products.

And by definition of middle, in California 500,000.00 a year is Middle Class. I don’t know what state you live in, but middle class is determined by the cost of living in your state.

Obamitler wants to raise the capital gains tax. This is directly tied to the financial markets we saw crumbling this week, how do you thing this will impact those markets if investing in them is going to be double taxed? Also, as 60% of americans now invest in stock markets guess who is going to be impacted by the capital gains tax, yep you guessed it the ‘middle class’.

Obamitler wants to provide tax breaks for 90-95% of the population, gee 40% of this populatin doesn’t pay any tax so what is he going to do? tax them and then turn around and give them half of it back? Yep, you guessed it, in order to provide them a tax break that is exactly what he will have to do. So explain to me lgm, just exactly how does he propose to do that?

Tell me lgm, just exactly how do these policies prevent a total collapse of the currently strong portions of this economy? exports, cpi, gdp , employment, pce? how.. financial markets are just one industry in a vast array of industries that are strong..

GEESH, the stupidity of the obamitlerits is baffling and mind boggling.

Obama’s plan calls for increasing taxes on a narrow “swath” of Americans, those that make more than $200,000/year. This is not the middle class by any definition of “middle”.

200,000? Last week it was 250,000. Will it be 150,000 next week? BTW how do you match up Obamas promise to cut taxes to 85% of the population when 40% DON’T PAY ANY TAXES???? You are a math wizz. Work it out.

America’s economic woes have nothing to do with taxes.

Economists including Alan Greenspan disagree. Our huge budget deficits depress the dollar and put Uncle Sam in competition with the private sector in borrowing.

Taxes are Part of the problem, the other, more important part is spending. You can balance the budget by increasing taxes or reducing spending. Obama is PROMISING to increase taxes and INCREASE spending. His spending increase btw far outstrip his promised tax increases.

“it’s time to be patriotic … time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut.”
It’d also be patriotic for a Senator to manage the money of taxpayers in a more fitting manner. Congress can start with a balanced budget, for example. How about paying off some of that debt we’ve been racking up?

Obama MIGHT have a point if he was to reduce spending and increase taxes, but he can do that and keep his promises. LGM, you can do math, do your own damn research. If you honestly did JUST based on the projected tax increase and projected spending increase, you would know Obamas plan is a disaster. If you honestly looked into this, you would either not vote, vote 3rd party, or vote McCain.

This spending by the federal government is obscene and unsustainable. The nation is nearly bankrupt thanks to Democrats AND Republicans over the last 20 years.

Neither McCain nor Obama have any intention of fixing the fundamental problem of the size of the government.

Most people assume that McCain would grow the government less rapidly than Obama. But, he has been in Congress for 25+ years when the size of the government has grown by at least 300%. He was in Congress during the last 8 years as government spending grew by a factor of 50%. Why do we assume a McCain administration won’t continue this path? He is certainly no less a big government advocate than Bush.

Does it really matter whether it is McCain or Obama who finally bankrupts the country?

Do we really think we can spend at the current Bush rate over the next 4 or 8 years? Can we really afford another $4 trillion in debt if McCain wins?

Government is the problem and McCain and Obama are part of that government. Neither is the solution. And “lesser” is a relative, and irrelevant term, when the nation is bankrupt.

Then I remind them that if the “rich” guy is no longer “rich”, it’s unlikely that “rich” guy will continue to pay their paycheck.

Obiden’s attacks on the patriotism of those he purports to represent certainly supports those numbers. When did successful, tax-paying, job-creating, payroll-making, risk-taking Americans become the enemy of the state? The Americans that he is attacking already pay the lions share of taxes to the treasury right now – and he questions their patriotism? The arrogance and gaul of Biden and his ilk amaze me — how in the world does this guy stay employed?

Having recently learned about Biden’s father’s “misfortune” of riches (turning his family’s inherited fortune into a proverbial shoestring)when Joe was only eight years old, I think I have gained a better foothold in trying to understand Joe Biden’s constant need to be both heard and seen as some sort of a “big deal.” In essence, I believe that Joe Biden’s adult life has been a sad, psychological game of overcompensation for a childhood molded by the constant reminder of a father figure who unraveled before his eyes.

I’d be interested to know if any liberals here can tell me that they admire Joe Biden’s career in Washington, D.C. and why?

Wow, is there another California I don’t know about? I mean, Biden is a moron on this issue, but 500k/year is WAY over middle class, even in California where I live. Or maybe they changed the ‘middle-class’ requirement in California to include multiple luxury SUV’s, a home of at least 3500sqft, and a yacht, while I wasn’t paying attention. I make a little over 13% of that annually, and am in the top 10% of wage earners in the state.

Although I think the first President Bush appointed Greenspan and clinton merely lucked-out by keeping him around, you’re absolutely right about the Democrats running wild with tax payer money through Freddie and Fannie – that’s why the housing mess exploded.

Democrats used Freddie and Fannie to funnel government monies to banks willing to take high-risk housing loans as part of the Democrats’ ill-conceived effort at urbanization; in short, the Democrats social experiment failed and tax payers will now foot the bill for the next century and a half.

To make matters worse, unemployment numbers are now sure to rise, along with the cost of living, as result of the Democrats half-baked scheme. Great job, Dems!
