Warning: If your neighbor’s got an “Obama ‘08″ bumper sticker or lawn sign, you might want to double-check your door locks at night. The One has commanded his Purveyors of Change to go forth and proselytize to the unbelievers. And they’re not going to be knocking gently like Avon Ladies.
Barack Obama, you see, is done fixing souls. It’s time to crack heads. Prodded by panicked Democrats to take off his white gloves, he issued a Call to Strong-Arms to his legions of angry followers on Wednesday. Hope is out. Hellfire is in. Now, the same analysts who tut-tutted Sarah Palin’s mild use of sarcasm at the GOP convention are heralding — in the words of the Obama water-carriers at the Associated Press — Obama’s “feistier, more sarcastic tone” and his push for Democrat activists “to sharpen their elbows, too.”
When Republicans get aggressive, it’s “dirty.” When Obama gets aggressive, it’s “feisty.” Exorteth the One: “I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face.”
Team Obama is so committed to this “face-to-face” shock troop campaign that it is now busing activists from state to state (“Drive for Change!”) to target undecided voters – and offering subsidies to volunteers. In advance of Obama’s rally in Nevada, California field director Mary Jane Stevenson organized a pilgrimage to boost the crowd numbers with housing incentives:
“Face-to-face contact with undecided voters is the single most effective way to grow this movement. No experience is required, and we’ll help you make the trip as easily as possible with either housing in Nevada or discounted group rates at an area hotel.”
Yep, a bunch of angry Obama cultists and left-wing ACORN drifters are coming to your neighborhoods to accuse you of racism, call you unpatriotic for not bowing down and forking over more taxes to keep the Mother Ship afloat, and check your tire pressure and thermostats while they’re at it. Feel the power of positive change.
The in-your-face directive comes as Team Obama Chicago-fies its tactics by:
*Stepping up sleazy ads. The latest one twisted the words of radio talk giant Rush Limbaugh in a laughable attempt to paint John McCain as an immigration hardliner and stir fear among Hispanic voters;
*Doubling down on the race card. Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius shamelessly baited supporters with this line: “Have any of you noticed that Barack Obama is part African-American? (Republicans) are not going to go lightly into the darkness;”
*And suppressing dissent. Rebuffed by the Justice Department in their efforts to prosecute conservatives for running ads critical of Obama’s ties to Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers, the campaign is using an army of supporters to mob radio and television stations daring to air investigations of the relationship. The foot soldiers receive their marching orders through “Obama Action Wires” and bombard critics with disruptive phone calls.
Meanwhile, the Left’s Sarah Palin hatred has been encouraged by the in-your-face comments of Michelle Obama, who derided the Alaska governor’s intellect (”What you learn about Barack from his choice is that he’s not afraid of smart people”) and looks (don’t cast a vote because “she’s cute”) on the campaign trail. And Team Obama’s goons on the Internet – led by Gawker Media and the Huffington Post – are reveling in the hacking of Palin’s private e-mail account, the publication of private, family photos of her children stolen from her account, and the abuse of daughter Bristol’s cell phone number stolen from the account. For countless friends of Obama, “in your face” is code for “anything goes.”
In words and actions that would have made his mentor Saul Alinsky proud, Barack Obama is rubbing raw the sores of discontent – and summoning his unhinged flock to do the same. All hail the community-agitator-in-chief. And remember: Lock your doors.

He won’t win. This is all going to come back and bite him. Just wait and see. I still believe the undecideds will vote for McCain in record numbers. There is too much to be feared by all the unknowns about Obama. Besides, October will have some big surprises and I can’t wait. The only thing I worry about now is voter fraud like we’ve never seen before. If they can, they will stuff the ballots and win by cheating. I don’t think there is any other way for them.

Flyoverman #80: Another ding for excellent post!! I sure wish you lived in my neighborhood. Here in Colorado, the vast majority of people are terrified to put a McCain-Palin sticker on their car. Last election, crazy guy at Denver Airport keyed several cars with Bush stickers (the guy was being video recorded the whole time–what a maroon!)

I keep my 75lb American Staffordshire Terrier tied up outside by the front door, and my other pitbull and black lab by the back door… so I rarely get unwanted visitors.
I stay out of the faculty lounge at work to avoid the preaching about how ‘The One’ is going to bring change to America. And the only time the TV is ever on in my house is when I’m away and I want the dogs to have some ‘company’ (though they’ve probably been brainwashed by the MSM to accept BHO as their Lord and master… maybe I should just leave it off indefinitely).
I know I should be ashamed to say this, but I actually sort of want Obama to put his money where his mouth is and get “in my face” someday soon. He has given speeches within an hour of my home within the past month or so, but I could never bring myself to voluntarily go to one. However, if he were in the area and I ran into him somewhere (like at the store while he’s stocking up on arugula), I’d love for him to get a little edgy with me. Sure, the Secret Service would beat me to within an inch of my life, and I’d probably do a little time in a federal prison, but it would be worth it to get in one good open-handed slap across that little weasel’s face… better yet, to see him pick a few teeth up off the floor. Hey, a guy can dream, right?

I asked my husband why there were so many more Obama signs than McCain signs in our town (which is about 1/2 GOP and 1/2 DEM). He said it’s because Republicans are afraid of retaliation. No one wants their house egged or their tires slashed. It would never occur to me to vandalize someone’s home for having a yard sign - I guess these people really do show their true colors.
Must be the same loons that always interrupt the GOP convention - but never the Dem one.

Ginger, I would not be surprised as all if that were the case. Another reason is that some local Republican offices (depending on the state you are in) just do not have lawn signs. The person we spoke to said they were very short on funds.

I am really beginning to think the lack of bumper sticker and sign implies support. If I see just a few Obama signs in a neighborhood and nothing else, it has to be a McCain/Palin neighborhood.
There’s a lot of closet support where I live. They just don’t want their cars keyed or their tires slashed.
Our neighbors next door and ourselves are the only conservatives (willing to display it) on our street. The neighbor is a graphic artist. After having our RNC style signs stolen during the last go-round. He and my husband cut a 4 by 8 sheet of plywood in half for 2 signs. They used metal rings to secure them to rebar that they stuck into the ground. It was awesome. The neighbor got carried away and drew a characature of John Kerry looking very French, with “La Fleep, La Flop” on it. Checked the signs every day for tomatoes and took em in every night. I suppose we could paint-over the signs with some good ‘NObama’ stuff but….well we’d be racists then…

When Kerry was running, I traveled through many areas of my state which were covered in Kerry signs and bumperstickers. Now, with only weeks til the election, I see a few BO signs and almost no bumperstickers. There is the occasional McCain sign. I still see more Kerry bumperstickers. It’s kinda spooky!

Somebody in my neighborhood tore down many John McCain signs from the yards. I have even seen people switch McCain signs and put Obama ones in their place. That’s hilarious.
I have mentioned before that I am a huge WWII European Theater history buff, especially concerning to the rise and fall of Hitler and the Nazi Party. i have been fascinated since when I was at least in grade school with how an entire nation of people, as well as their neighbors, could be so hypnotized and be turned so quickly into the largest murder mill this world has ever seen. I am, by no means, an expert on WWII History, Germany, Nazism, or anything like that, I hold no degree…just a lifelong hobby of mine.
So this is why I am saying, especially with his latest speeches calling out his troops to “Get in their faces” and such, that this is all incredibly familiar.
When it comes to this latest, this blatant calling for Liberals and Democrats who support him to “take off the gloves”, it is by far the scariest of the entire campaign.
Few people truly understand what the SA was, what their duties were and what their crimes consisted of. They know basically that they were thugs and liked to beat people up etc., but they know basically the generalized stuff.
The SA (Sturm Abteilung or “Storm Section”) was Adolph Hitler’s own private army, created in 1921 at the beginning of the National Socialist Worker’s Party Movement, later to be known as the Nazi Party. Let me repeat that. See if it sounds incredibly, undeniably familiar:

Now, compare that with what is going on with the phone-bombings of radio stations that have people on them that are telling people the truth about B. Hussein and his past. Compare them with the attacks on people’s cars, houses, RNC local and regional headquarters.
Sure, it is quite easy to say I am paranoid, or I am making too much out of it or anything else. Granted, this is something that the Liberals have been saying about us Conservatives for a long time, that we are all Nazi’s, Little Eichmanns, and any variation therein. Forget that there is no evidence of that, only that it shows their blatant ignorance towards history and historical persons and events.
However, all one need do is just a small bit of studying up on the period of time in Germany between 1922 and 1933, then compare it with what the DNC, the Obama Campaign are doing and what he is saying and it will be absolutely crystal clear to you.
It is incredibly scary, and not something that should go ignored or should be laughed off by any means.
Those who fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.

The analogies with the rise of Hitler are startling and obvious to anyone who bothers to look at history. Today’s youth haven’t a clue, and it may doom us.
Don’t forget the Hitler Jugend either. Look how the children are being indoctrinated in gradeschool (and they are working on getting “universal preschool” to get an even earlier start).

Yes, the socialists have quite a few characteristics similar to previous socialists, but the thing I think you are not taking into account would be the economic conditions of Germany during the Weimar Republic and those of the US today.
There is just no comparison. Germany experienced inflation so high that children would wait outside their father’s workplace and take the money to race to the store for groceries before the prices rose ever higher. There was starvation and poverty that is simply not matched in the US today.
Those people were so desperate that they would have turned to any leader that improved their lot. Hitler did this by stopping the exorbitant reparation payments that the victorious allies imposed on Germany after the Treaty of Versailles. As well as other measures.
While we may decry economic conditions today (as compared to recent US history) they are nothing compared to Germany in the 1920’s and 30’s.
Life in the US is so easy today that I doubt you will find that there are masses of people willing to do the really nasty work the brownshirts did.
To get back on thread - if anyone gets in your face about Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate . . .

If you look at Yezov from the side and given his darker complexion, he is a dead ringer/stunt double for Barack Obama…I first noticed this when I took a Russian history course at University of Washington this past Winter Quarter..I d@mn near fell out of my seat when I saw Yezov’s picture.

I was explaining to my oldest child today that I am made very nervous by any leader who appears to lead by charisma alone - who lead by a ‘cult of personality’.
In small groups, such persons may become cult leaders: above reproach, above the rules, and eventually carried away by the power they hold. Sometimes those cults go on to devour the lives of the followers.
It’s sad. We don’t have a McCain/Palin sign up in our yard either. Or on the cars. I’m afraid of damage. But it would never occur to me to damage an Obama sign. What does that say about the two different “camps” and how they present themselves?
In 2004, I repeatedly had my “Bush/Cheney” sign stolen, broken, trashed, removed etc. This was in an upper middle class neighborhood with a crime rate of zero. My friends would have their cars keyed, trashed, soaped right outside the firehouse if they had a “Bush” or “Firefighers for Bush” bumper-sticker on their cars or trucks. I would be repeatedly flipped off…regardless of if I had my daughters in the truck/car with me while driving on the freeway and shouted at with numerous profanities while siting at a stoplight or driving he city streets.
This from the self-proclaimed keepers of the First Amendment. This from those that repeatedly lie and talk about the non-existent “Republican Attack Machine”.
Why are we “terrified” Because Liberals and those who belong to the DNC behave like animals, like thugs, and they threaten, intimidate and act out in violent, offensive ways.
They did that without being told to “Get in their faces” or to “Confront your neighbors where they live” or to “Take off the gloves”.
If there is any terror, it is from the fear of what will happen with these criminals and street thugs who have now been told what they were doing was appreciated, welcome and that it was not enough…they are to remove all stops and become even more violent, threatening, intimidating and abusive.
If those were the things they did without permission, it is frightening to think what it will be like now that it is condoned and encouraged.
However, lay one finger on my children, behave like a street-rat in front of my children, do ANYTHING to mine and my property, and that person will curse he fact that their mother was “Pro-Life”
Right now, Robin Williams is on Letterman repeating the lie that people are afraid “of an eloquent black man.” Robin, if you’re reading this, no, he’s not eloquent without his teleprompter, and no, we’re not afraid. We just don’t want his policies enacted. You’re supposed to be a clever guy, but you look like a water carrier to me.
The only ones bringing up his being black is the Left. We could care less. The Left are the ones who promote the whole race for hire thing. It is the Republicans and Conservatives who are the ones fighting to hire people based on ABILITY, not race.
Or maybe they just never hear us when we all say we wished Powell would have run, or those of us who would have loved to have had Rice in this race somewhere.
It is their strong-arm tactics. “Vote for him, or you will forever be known as a racist”.
Pay no attention to the Socialist Powermonger behind the curtain…it is his color you should be voting for.

Although I have noticed Democrats getting more and more violent and destructive since 2000, it now appears they know they have a fellow leftist fascist as a candidate who, in word and in an explicit physical manner by both he and his VP candidate, has the let loose the dogs of personal destruction to do it in any possible way, the more illegal the better. The more I see this, it is now obvious to me that we have a presidential candidate who if he wins, will make no effort to govern from the center, and the American people need to wake up to this pretty damn quick.
With all this discussion of people afraid to put McCain/Palin sighs up because of libs who are more than willing to and have destroyed property, it is amazing to compare the difference.

Yeah, that method worked pretty good for Michael Corleone and Tony Soprano too. Yesterday afternoon there was a disabled BMW sitting at an interstate off-ramp. It also had a “vote democrat” bumper sticker on the back. When I pulled up to the light I stopped beside the BMW and asked if he needed help and was there anything I could do. He thanked me and told me he had already called AAA.
I’m not writing this to bring anything to myself or show what a magnanimous guy I am, I was just helping a neighbor as I am commanded to do. But I wonder, if I had a McCain sticker on my disabled truck would a democrat stop to help me? No real need to think about it, I did what I was supposed to do.

I think the general point here is that people can and will defend themselves against anyone who tries to intimidate them; not against anyone who tries to campaign for Obama. The phrase “get in your face” is alarming because it smacks of trying to do just that.
