This has no business in any college. Let them support/campaign for whichever candidate they choose on their own time – and let it NOT affect their credits/grades.

University of Massachusetts officials on Monday quashed efforts by an Amherst campus chaplain to offer two college credits to any student willing to campaign in New Hampshire this fall for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

I don’t think it was as widely known or believed. Just as with the media, now that we know, we can try to combat it.

“We do not engage in or sponsor partisan political activity,” said Audrey Alstadt, chairwoman of the history department. “We certainly do not give academic credit for participation in partisan politics, with the exception of forcing students to sit in a lecture hall and be brainwashed by our radical liberal America-hating professors.”

I don’t know why this would surprise anyone. We’ve supported this behavior by doing nothing about it for years.
