Michelle Obama thanks me

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 23, 2008 05:16 PM

Just seeing if you’re awake.

Hee.

Actually, Michelle Obama really did thank me — in her mass e-mail, which has now been sent to me twice, urging the Obama cultists to watch her video promoting The One’s first presidential debate. Again, they break Rule Number One of politics: Manage expectations.

They can’t help the hype.

And, yes, Michelle, I watched your video. You need to relax, sweetie. And ditch that shirt. Ick.

The message:

michelle –

This Friday, we’ll reach another milestone in this campaign — the first debate of the general election, on September 26th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Millions of Americans will tune in to watch Barack debate John McCain about America’s foreign policy and our role in the world.

Barack will share his plan to bring the change we need — to restore our place in the world, ensure security at home and abroad, and reestablish the United States as the world’s economic leader.

This is a great opportunity for you to learn more about the issues. And it’s also a great opportunity for you to share Barack’s message of change with your friends, family, and neighbors by attending a Debate Watch Party.

Watch the debate with friends and supporters, and talk about how you can get involved in this movement.

I recorded a brief message about these parties. Please take a moment to watch the video and sign up to attend a Debate Watch Party in your community.

Attend a debate watch party

Many Americans are still learning about Barack and this movement for change.

They don’t know about his plan to restore the middle class, cut taxes for 95 percent of American families, provide health care for every American, achieve energy independence, improve our schools, and responsibly end the war in Iraq.

Many people also don’t know that John McCain has voted with George Bush more than 90 percent of the time — including to continue Bush’s failed Iraq policies, not investigating the government response to Katrina, not supporting children’s health care, not supporting college benefits for returning veterans, and passing tax cuts for the rich at the expense of the middle class.

This debate is a chance for Americans to hear directly from Barack. And with just a few weeks left before Election Day, it’s more important than ever that we bring people together and talk about the issues that matter in our communities.

I hope you’ll watch my short message and sign up to attend a Debate Watch Party:

http://my.barackobama.com/firstdebate

Thank you for all that you’re doing,

Michelle

BTW, this has happened to me now…sorta. I put out my McCain/Pailin yardsigns the other day. Today, I got an envelope in my mail from a neighbor saying things like “No way. No McCain. No Bush 3rd term…etc.” The coward didn’t bother to put their name or return address on it.

Why on God’s Green Earth would I inflict that horror on my friend and neighbors by holding a Debate Watch Party? I can see me spreading the message now. “Hey, you know that Barack Obama sure has a great message of change.”

    Deafening silence

“Really, he says he’s the change we need and the change I have been waiting for.”

    Raised eyebrows

“OK, so he wants to raise taxes, grant us universal health care, pull our troops precipitously out of a war to appease the anarchic peace-nik lefties, and enact trillions of new government programs.”

    Crickets chirping

“Wait a minute! That sounds like stuff from the decades-old Democratic playbook.”

    Guffaws. “Duh, ya moron!”

I am not a sadist or a masochist.

Then again, if we all take a shot every time BHO says “change” or McCain says “my friends”, we’ll all be rather toasty.

Has anyone sat down and explain to her that the President doesn’t appropiate money? He also doesn’t raise or lower taxes either. He doesn’t pass bills or laws. They can debate all they want on economic issues. Doesn’t mean a thing because only congress can handle that. That’s what makes me frustrated when I see statements like “Bush tax cuts” and Obama is going to raise taxes. Seems a lot of people don’t understand how government works, which is exactly what all candidates are banking on.

Using the same criteria Obama employs to harp on McCain’s voting record, Obama himself voted 88% of the time with Bush and even voted for the Cheney energy plan. Hillary didn’t and neither did McCain.
What they don’t tell you is that McCain voted 97% of the time with the Democrats and that he has the worst conservative voting record of any Republican. He voted liberal 20% of the time.

Stay off the roads the night of the debate as DUI’s are sure to be increasing.

“Many people still don’t know about Barack…”

Gee…why is that? Why are there so many people that don’t know SQUAT about your hubby, there, MichelleO? Why si he refusing to release so many things that would allow us to know about him…such as his birth certificate? Why hashe been hiding things?

This is just like Kerry 4 years ago, where people still, days AFTER the election, didn’t know what Kerry’s plan for ANYTHING was.

It is YOUR HUBBY’S JOB to tell us what his plans are. We are not supposed to guess. Hope and change are nothing but words, not a platform or a plan.

But then we already know why. It is that he HAS no plan. He has no ideas that are not given to him by his 300 handlers.

And I pray to God every night that you are never allowed to become the First Lady, nor him the President. I am already afraid enough that in just over 200 years, a person who represents the exact opposite of what this country was founded on and planned to become is this close to becoming it’s leader.

HOW can they keep telling this outright and impossible lie?????
CUT taxes for 95% of American families?
    How many even work? 70%??
How many pay taxes? 45% ??

Companies have to tell the truth when advertising, why don’t these people?

Michelle Obama lies as good as her husband.

She’s right. There ARE a lot of things that we don’t know about Barack. Like:

    1) What is his position on ANYTHING — since he always votes “present”?

    2) What IS his relationship with Ayers?

    3) Does he hate white people too, or is that just YOU Michelle?

    4) Will he KEEP Joe Biden, or will he dump him?

    5) Can he stutter while using the teleprompter, or do we have to take it away from him to hear that?

    6) How the h*ll did such a vacuous dipstick get the nomination?

And on and on, ad naseum.

I, for one, don’t want to know the answers.

How are these democrats and anyone else who is for open borders and wanting mobs of illegals to swamp our nation going to help the middle class?????????????. The middle class is shrinking because of so many immigrants working in the nation for lower wages then the native born and legal immigrants. I was just wondering how they plan to do it? I am still wondering four years later what was John Kerry’s plan for Iraq and still never did get that answer.

Of course not. Michelle Obama is just displaying her connection to the common folk. It is only Sarah Palin who is uneducated and ignorant because she does the very same thing.
