The Gaffe Twins strike again

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 23, 2008 10:42 AM

Geez, I thought McCain was off to a bad start this week.

Then along came the Gaffe Twins again.

Joe Biden’s trashing his campaign’s moronic e-mail attack ad: “Terrible.”

Barack Obama’s trashing Joe Biden’s initial refusal to back the AIG bailout: He “should have waited.”

Joe Biden’s changing the campaign’s position on clean coal: He’s against it. Obama’s for it. (Vid is here.)

And via reader Richard J:

Michelle & Co. -

Looks like Joe Biden, in his interview with Katie Couric, was copying off the wrong classmate’s exam again. He said (video here):

“When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed. He said, ‘look, here’s what happened.’”

My recollection is that the stock market crash was in 1929. Two problems here: Television did not even exist in 1929, and FDR was elected in 1932, so he wasn’t even the leader at the time of the crash. When Joe was in history class, was he cheating by looking over the class dunce’s shoulder, or does he just make this stuff up? Of course, TV celebrity Katie Couric also didn’t note that Biden’s statement was doubly incorrect. Her goal was a softball puff piece.”

Biden was just a decade off, and by ’39 most americans knew what happend on Wall Street in ’29. : )

Because the media will play a game of gotcha. If you have dozens/hundreds/thousands of reporters, probably almost all of them will be able to ask at least ONE question that she will not know the answer to.

And then that reporter and everyone else will jump on the bandwagon of “AH HA!!!!”

I doubt it, especially after all the angles they were playing on how Gov. Palin was vetted.

I think Obama is stuck with Biden. It’s too late to make any sort of play now and a switch would not really help him, even if it is Hillary. If they were going to make a change, it would have happened when Biden was claiming that Hillary was more qualified than him.

None of this is new with Biden, so the Obama camp should have known what they were getting. If he and Obama are going to spend the rest of the time throwing each other under the bus to explain away their missteps on the campaign, I’ll be happy to make the popcorn and watch.

There is also a fear that a Hillary/Obama ticket would be too much change for certain white, male voters. There is also the fact that many moderate/independent men despise Hillary Clinton. Now that is a lie Cheryl. I’ve only written it to a handful of people, who like you, feel the need to intiate insultfests with me. I don’t think I have made the initial comment to, or about you in 2-3 months(maybe more). There are people that I get along with fine here, strictly debating the issues. Then there are those like you, who initiate personal name-calling and snarky behavior. When there are people on this thread that bore me, or whose views I consistently loathe, I ignore their comments. Try it sometime. I guess we’ll see whether or not you continue to want to play in the gutter down the road, or simply just ignore each other. Until then, good luck getting me out of your head.

If Obama loses, I bet and hope he waits at least until 2016 due to Obama fatigue. Hillary will have 2012 all to herself to show what she has. I think your side would LOVE to go against Hillary. I don’t for one second believe that she could win a general election with her baggage, and the dislike so many have for her. There is also Clinton fatigue going on IMHO, and I doubt if she could get young folks out to vote. She has been a good democratic soldier since the convention though, and I appreciate that.

A racist wouldn’t have white friends and white members of their church. People like Hal Turner, David Duke, and William Pierce(thankfully dead) are obviously different. These three men want total separation from the black race, and think blacks are inferior. Turner and Pierce hate black people. I’m more than willing to hate em back, and would love for them to suffer.

Reverent Wright is a jackass with very anti-American views. He is also a bitter and nasty human being. If you want me to name a black racist, I’ll start with Malik Shabazz. No, I wouldn’t mind watching him suffer and die, for that and numerous reasons. Now, I have to go and take care of some things, so I’m outta here Rooster.

This has been a threadjack, so hopefully folks will let the issue go of who I wouldn’t mind watching die. What does it matter to anyone? Seriously, I can’t imagine why this issue is so important to so many people.

Okay, this is not on topic, but I MUST share these things with you all!

Being a younger person, I of course have a facebook account. A “friend” of mine posted this yesterday or today (blood pressure warning):

“I received the following in an email from a family friend. I think it’s BRILLIANT!

Since Sarah Palin gave her speech accepting the Republican nomination for the vice presidency, Barack Obama’s campaign has raised over $10 million dollars. Some of you may already be supporting the Obama campaign financially; others of you may still be a little honked off over the primaries. None of you, however, can be happy with Palin’s selection, especially on her positions on women’s issues.

So, if you feel you can’t support the Obama campaign financially, may I suggest the following fiendishly brilliant alternative?

Make a donation to Planned Parenthood. In Sarah Palin’s name.

And here’s the good part: when you make a donation to PP in her name, they’ll send her a card telling her that the donation has been made in her honor.

Here’s the secure link to donate at Planned Parenthood’s website:
    https://secure.ga0.org/02/pp10000_inhonor
You’ll need to fill in the address to let PP know where to send the ‘in Sarah Palin’s honor’ card.

I suggest you use the address for the McCain campaign headquarters:
    McCain for President
    1235 S. Clark Street
    1st Floor
    Arlington , VA 22202″

    SICK OR WHAT????

This same person posted a note about a MSNBC broadcast with Rachel Maddow claiming that rape victims in Wasilla had to pay for their own rape kits. This person then called Palin “pro-rape.”

These people make me feel battered. Sigh.
