Unholy alliance: Mahmoud and left-wing religious leaders
If you happen to be in NYC tonight, you can raise your voice against the American apologists for terrorism who’ll be breaking bread with The Littlest Jihadist.
On Thursday, Sept 25, at 6pm in New York City at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, The American Friends Service Committee, Mennonite Central Committee, Quaker UN Office, Religions for Peace, and the World Council of Churches-UN Liaison Office will be honoring Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at an Iftar (dinner to break the day’s Ramadan fast). Other organizations, political leaders and media have also been invited…
…These religious leaders are about to betray their brethren across all religions, parties, and countries by honoring the tyrannical regime of Ahmadinejad and the Iranian mullahs of this terrorist state.
At the same time, Women United, the Jewish Action Alliance, Stand With Us, Center for Security Policy, the Catholic League, the The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Alliance of Iranian Women and over 30 organizations of all faiths and political affiliations will hold an interfaith rally to counter this betrayal of principles, to protest Ahmadinejad’s presence at the United Nations, and to oppose Iran’s nuclear weapons program and outrageous threats against the USA and America’s ally, Israel.

Honoring him for what, exactly? Drawing breath? Taking up space? Entering this country again and managing (at least to this point) to not get shot?
When he goes back to the festering cesspool that is Iran, he needs to take all of these stupid bastards with him!
Good grief!
Will Diane Sawyer be there?
In case he wants he misses his goat?
Boycotting Hyatt
Goes to show not all “religious” leaders even recognize evil.
World Council of Churches-UN Liason Office… what the heck is that?
The reason I left the Lutheran Church.
Oh come on guys, just because he wants to kill everyone in israel and the usa, doesn’t make him a bad guy right?
/sarcasm off
I know very little about the Lutheran Church, but it seems wrong to worship Lex Luther.
Is it true they believe Superman is the Anti-Christ?

Just because they’re religous, doesn’t mean they know Jesus Christ. He did say:
Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Makes me glad I’m a Southern Baptist.
Will Jimmy Carter be there?
For a mutual jobwelldone
fist bump?
Why does the behavior of these people remind me so strongly of the movie “Zardoz?” The part in which the “Eternals” — people so bored and disgusted with themselves that they gladly welcomed death — begged for Sean Connery and his “Brutals” to slaughter them?
“Kill me! Kill me!” they gleefully shouted as they rushed to be next in line before the gun muzzles.
How is the behavior of these people any different?
These people are like Obama, if we just talk to these cut throat despots, peace will reign throughout the world.
Hey folks, you are all infidels, this guy wants to kill you, and buying him dinner isn’t going to change his mind.
“How is the behavior of these people any different?”
I just thought of the answer to my question: The Eternals simply wanted to end their meaningless lives.
The suicidal people celebrating a madman today want to take the rest of us with them.
They actualy worship ZOD!!!! lex luther is merely his prophet.
his web site All hail ZOD!!!
This piece of trash is still here?
I wish I could be there for the protest. I wonder if the MSM will cover the protesters or simply be in awe over the dinner guests. I just don’t understand how people think that they can be “friends” with the likes of Ahmadinejad. He wants to destroy us and everything we stand for.
Well, on second thought, if they’re serving pork…
Please! Please! Will one of NY’s finest please taser this ragamuffin off the ledge of a building?
Might I remind all of you that when we are staring evil in the face what we need more than anything is humility. Now let it sink in.

There is something seriously wrong with the religious communities in the US. There is no justification for being in the same room with this thug.
the religious left are just an extension of the CPUSA. these people support evil every chance they get…in the 70s they supported ever communist ‘liberation’ movement in the world.
they’re evil, plain and simple.
Thanks! (what no h/t? harummpphh!)
I was raised a Quaker here in NJ (aka American Friends Service Committee). As I grow older I end up agreeing less and less with their agenda/issues, and usually respected what they are. NO MORE!!! I am now officially embarassed to ever have been one and I let them know it! There is truly something wrong with this bunch (I must whisper this because mumsie may still be with this group)
@ rambler, #20:
I second that motion, Rambler – and I’m a pastor. Just makes me shake my head in wonder at some of my brethren and cistern…
Tell you the truth I would be interested in the connection between the Church of the Crossroads in Honolulu and Obama as a teen ager.
…which is why I gave up on religion long ago. People in churches will vote for Obama – the whole congregation. Never mind his stance on killing babies.
Give me my relationship with YHWH. HIS leadership and love are all I need.
…and this thermos and that’s all I need.
It is just so disheartening how many lefty, religious practitioners are cozying up to this guy. The Quakers’ stance doesn’t really surprise me but that these organizations embrace this guy with such gusto does. These underhanded accomodators do not represent any of their faiths honestly.
Seriously, Ahmadinnahrole kills people. He’s a nutjob. Anybody supporting him really needs to think twice. Especially Jews.
This is why I harbor serious doubts about the future of the human species.
So did many of these churches.
HAH!
Yes, see tre’s comment #9 above.
The friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:4)
c’mon, michelle. you quote the press release which says these religious groups are “honoring” Ahmadinejad.
there is no mention of them ‘honoring’ him anywhere except your site and the site you quote.
the meeting is despicable enough. you don’t have to embellish what’s happening to get people even more outraged. the truth will do.
I’d give a free pass to his assassin. But I’m a horrible person.
I didn’t realize Mennonites celebrated Eid. Learn something every day.
I think wire tapping all attendees would be a Patriotic Act, don’t you think?
No one epitomizes evil in the world today like Eichmanndinajad. And to have all these appeasers serving him tea and crumpets is nothing but honoring him.
Maybe they’ll ask him about the non existence of homosexuals in his country too. Do these people just sit around and listen to John Lennon’s “Imagine” all day? Talk about delusional.
WCC=National Council of Churches. Very leftist and pro-terrorist.
Most of our mainline churches are members. This article says that the Presbyterian Church and United Methodist Church are by far the largest financial contributors to the NCC among all the denominations who belong to it.

That is the political underpinnings of many in the “New Left”.

Im not disagreeing you on this, but I did initially see this:
http://www.upi.com/Top_News/2008/09/22/Honorary_Ahmadinejad_event_criticized/UPI-58661222103879
But ALSO, knowing AFSC as I do, I wouldnt be surprised if he is “honored”.
Here is AFSC’s side of this:

Its pretty pathetic to me.

Hey, what the heck did I do? Sorry for the double-post.
Yep. They’ll be in for a rude awakening when Islam outlaws their religion and their favorite political causes, won’t they?
I think Imadinnerjacket should give the Quakers a personal demonstration on what happens if you admit you’re a homosexual in Iran.
No, they gave up truth for power. Their “religion” is the flavor of the month.
The appeasers will be the first ones to be beheaded. The rest of us will fight to the death.
I’m afraid I don’t see the ambiguity here.
Appeasment is hoping the tiger will eat you last. What a bunch of maroons.
Ever since Jane Fonda, John Kerry, et al., got away with it, the floodgates have been opened.
no they’ll go right along and get the mark of their new savior as a sign of obediance…

Islamic Jihadists, the Nation of Islam, “Black Liberation Theology” Churches, the Communist Party, and apparently these churches, too, are all tightly coupled.
They all want to destroy everything America stands for. Seriously.

MtsEdge: Good point.
Why would RELIGOUS LEADERS, for crying out loud, want to meet with a man who wants to kill Jews, Christians . . . any non-Muslim? Do they not see the threat he poses to the very existence of their faith . . . their LIVES?!
Great column, Michelle.
But when it comes to the topic of evil masquerading as religion, why stop here?
Why not give equal exposure to the right-wing churches in this country that promote and support white nationalism and white supremacism.
It’s an alliance that is just as evil and just as unholy, in my opinion.
Just one example: the vast majority of participants over at Stormfront are right-wing/far-right wing. Heck, they even host the Old Timey Gospel Music Hour on a regular basis.
To deny that this connection exists while geefully exposing the left-wing churches’ admiration of Dinnerjacket, is patently dishonest. Evil should be driven out into the light and exposed for what it is, wherever it exists.
Even if it exists among us.
My two cents.
Irish Rose –
To give you an example that I hope will reassure you, I remember Michelle reporting on the disgusting Phelps “church” when they were sucessfully sued by the family of a fallen Marine. (Among the “inspirational” messages on their picket signs: “God hates f**s”).
The vast majority of us were delighted to see them pay a price (literally) for their trespassing and general UN-Christian behavior.
MY two cents.
Thank you!!
IrishRose, I didn’t notice anyone denying any evil behavior on the part of any other group. This thread is about supporting and fraternizing with a sworn enemy of the United States and Israel.
Bet these treasonous b@stards figure they’ll curry favor with this despotic little worm before he attempts to take over.
Good reason to boycott any further business meetings in the Hyatt too.
It’s a real puzzle for me. I’d rather fight for my life than grovel before this wicked man. And I think it will come to that, perhaps too soon, as there are so many willfully blind people who are unwilling to confront the real danger and threat that A-jad and other terrorists have proven to be.
MtsEdge:
One thing we can do, sister . . . pray.
For peace.
For the conversion of Jihadists.
For our current President and the next . . WHOEVER that turns out to be.
MtsEdge:
Sorry, don’t know which “flavor” you are. My bad if “sister” does not apply to you.
I’m a sister!!
And thanks for the encouragement to pray. I have been praying and will continue to do so, now more than ever our country needs our prayers.
Oh, and frostrt, good point about praying for peace, esp. peace in Jerusalem. And praying for jihadists. Thanks for the reminder that we are called to pray for our enemies.
“Love your enemies, and drive everybody else nuts” – Brother Dave Gardner.
With these goons loving their enemy and mine, it driving me nuts! They should all be soundly condemned by as many churches as possible.
Why would left-wing mainline Protestant churches host and honor the Iranian madman? Because it is the hip thing for them.
One would think that a directive to the CIA to “take this guy out” should be in the process…but alas…
End times… many will believe a lie and follow the anti-christ. So how can this be that far fetched? Just prophecy showing us how easy it is to be deceived.
I used to belong to the United Methodist Church and part of the offerings does go to the NCC. It is a left wing and gets support from many old mainline protestant churches. the UMC actually supports abortion, and yet Christ warned us that many of the churches and individuals will become lukewarm in the last days. Yes they will believe a lie as well.
He would prefer them dead or submissive to him and his brethren. Talk about durrrr…
Honor him???? Honor him FOR WHAT????
For being a peace maker?
For working against war and murder and death?
For being opposed to hanging teenagers from cranes in the middle of town?
For not burying women up to their necks to allow others to stone them to death for the crime of being rape victims?
What is he being honored for, exactly?
I am confused. Could someone please fill me in on when things went this screwy with the Universe?
