Fighting Obama’s Goon Squad
Chicago-trained thug Barack Obama has recruited musclemen in Missouri to intimidate critics.
It’s just the latest example of his bare-knuckle, speech-chilling bully tactics.
Missouri-based Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit has an overview of how “St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, both Obama supporters, are threatening to bring criminal libel charges against anyone who levels what turns out to be false criticisms of their chosen candidate for President.”

September 26, 2008 – Barack Obama is now using local law enforcement officials to carry out his campaign of legal intimidation by assembling a group of high-ranking Missouri police officials and prosecutors – including St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCullough and City of St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce – to identify and target anyone the campaign determines is producing “misleading” political advertisements.
“This is an outrageous and shocking attempt by the Obama campaign to again employ Stalinist, police state tactics against those who dare to disagree with Barack Obama,” said Ed Martin, American Issues Projects president. “I am frankly stunned to see public officials like McCullough and Joyce abusing their official prosecutorial positions to serve as attack dogs for a national political campaign. I am quite certain Missourians elected these individuals to enforce the laws and arrest criminals, not to throw people in jail for daring to practicing free speech.
“The Obama campaign continues to provide a chilling preview of what would happen to political freedom in an Obama administration.”
This new effort is only the most recent attempt by the Obama campaign to crack down on free speech. Obama’s lawyers twice demanded the Department of Justice investigate and prosecute the American Issues Project, its officers, board of directors, and donors. The campaign also threatened stations running American Issues Project’s ad in an unsuccessful attempt to compel them to pull the spot, and ran its own ad in response.
Notably, this ad failed to dispute a single fact the American Issues Project has put forth.

Would seem to me to be a pretty boneheaded move for them to take someone to court claiming they are slandering The One.
That would, I would think, get some media attention (have to parade the evil conservatives being punished around). But, at the same time, the information in question would have to be determined to be truth or lie. It would be quite a risk for the lawyers to have press coverage only to lose the case. The media would unwittingly have spread the info.
Then again, the media says whatever they want, and the people believe it, so I’m sure they could spin it to be in favor of the Obamanation.

My great-grandfather was a successful Italian immigrant businessman when he died suddenly of an aneurism in 1916.
The City of Chicago took everything from my great-grandmother, leaving her pregnant with 3 small children to support.
She had to work two jobs, my grandmother’s brother had to work at a young age, and my grandmother took a year off of high school to work for the phone company to help support the family.

Reading this made me realize that, as much as I dislike Hillary, I wouldn’t want the Marxian “well…” to happen to her.
But my point is that the power he wants won’t be automatic, it would take some effort/force, and there would be opposition. He’d have Reid and Pelosi, but Hillary would carry enough weight to bring some needed Democrat opposition to him. It would be based on her own desire to lead a Marxist takeover of the government, and Marxist thugs eliminating each other in turf wars is not unprecedented.

After giving it some thought, I think Obama did a right thing in picking Biden as a running mate. I might have done the same thing as a Presidental candidate. The reasoning is simple: No-one would want to shoot me, as President, knowing that the next President would be Biden. Sortof a life insurance policy. Makes sense to me.

The Kerry campaign was a warm-up for this. As we get closer to the election, I expect physical violence against Republicans. The Democrats have basically been told they can do anything they want to a Republican because they are in the right. In other words, the end justifies the means.

Don’t overlook Obama’s naivete. In ‘93, the Clintons figured it was over, and they were free to implement their dictatorship. Nov. ‘94 came along, and the electorate said “not so fast!” I won’t pretend to know how things will play out if Obama is elected, but his vanity will likely lead to him dropping his guard, and the majority of people in this country will stop his agenda.
I don’t expect open violence in the streets. If I had been around to see the emergence of hippie culture in the 60’s, I would have thought that Marxian violence and disorder were just around the corner. That proved to not be the case, and I don’t think it will be the case now. There just aren’t nearly as many thugs out there as there are people who won’t accept their force - if pushed. And Obama is simply in way over his head. There is no inexorable, pre-determined course of history, and so he isn’t the secular deity who will bring it to us. There can be no such person.
We now have compelling evidence of what an Obama presidency is likely to bring: a Brownshirt army rounding up the “usual” suspects, Nazi-type prosecutors working kangaroo courts, re-education camps, kids selling out their parents and firearms prohibitions, etc. We’ve seen this all before.

I doubt that they have any intention of actually bringing a case to trial. This announcement is simply for intimidation purposes. They might very well go so far as to try to launch a few “investigations”, but I don’t think they’d be stupid enough to push them once the election is over.

One of the few hopes I have for the future should Obama win is that Obama, Pelosi and Reid appear to be remarkably stupid and self-centered people. And they appear to be remarkably power hungry too.
It is possible, even likely, that there will be so much fighting between this truly unholy troika that nothing will get done.
If this unholy troika spends the next 4 years fighting to establish who is the “alfa dog” then the Republic may yet stand a chance.
Millions of Americans reject the idea that GOP candidates have to run a gauntlet of loaded questions designed to embarrass them and make them look stupid, posed by would-be media “elites” who spend their interview time with liberals giving them deep tongue kisses.
Can anyone else name a set-up in public or private life where you KNOW going into it that you will be treated with thinly veiled contempt of the type the MSM metes out regularly to conservatives?
I’m sure older blacks remember lots of situations like that.

The lack of any media interest in this is laughable after years of “King George the Tyrant’ stories. Here comes the real thing and they love it.
