I love how Borat, er, Barack wants to have the tax issue both ways. First he says US companies are sending jobs overseas and he would give tax breaks to companies to keep jobs here. Then he turns right around and says that US companies avoid taxes by using loop-holes in the tax code. Which is it B.O. ??

The fact that companies are moving jobs outside the country should be all the evidence anyone needs to prove that US companies are over taxed.

I thought the debate, regarding the issues, was pretty close as they both stood ‘close to the vest’ with their talking points. I do think that Barack was a little too polished and not flexible enough. McCain was a little bit repetative at certain times. Barack was too made-up, he goofed on the KIA memorial bracelet by having to look to remember the dead soldier’s name, he was a little bit John Kerryish with the smirks and rebuttals, he invoked Bush too much and his lack of foreign policy experience could not be overcome by reiterating Democrat talking points on the war in Iraq and the economy.

I have to give the overall edge to McCain as most people don’t hear them talking about the issues, they decide based on style and delivery. He seemed more passionate about the issues, a little more in touch with policy and resolved to lead the country forward, not to change it. Barack is a little bit too cocky in his demeanor and that does not play well in an open forum.

BHO said how important education was and especially math/science and yet, his very own Ayer’s CAC (Chicago Annenberg Challenge) foundation specifically refused programs which focussed on these subjects and instead favored groups such as ACORN. Hello?
Obama talked about negotiating and yet he’s never negotiated for anything in his life except maybe his contract with Ayers. Oops, my bad, Michelle O. did that for him.
When Obama tried to ridicule McCain about saying the Iraqi people would welcome us and somehow they didn’t, Obama was actually referring to his jihadi buddies and not the average Iraqi.
Obama said we need to send a couple more brigades to Afghanistan (a surge? Oh my), somebody should do a Charlie Gibson/Couric gotcha and ask BHO exactly how many soldiers are in a brigade. Bet he’d “uh, uh, uh, uh”,until he had to say he’d “get back to ya”. BHO decries the surge in Iraq and yet he calls for one in Afghanistan–priceless.

It’s not a crime to agree with McCain. When the McCain people put out an ad that makes fun of Obama for sometimes agreeing with McCain, they are hurting themselves. They seem to be saying that it’s stupid to agree with McCain — which is not the best advertisement for their candidate.

The old ‘they seem to be saying’. No, they are saying that BHO really has little to offer. (I talked to John McCain and he told me this is ‘what they are saying’!) Then again, perhaps in Obama’s World, ‘change’ has now extended to debate tactics whereby just standing there with your teeth in your mouth and agreeing with your opponent’s position is certain to prove your originality and leadership skills? And then the Queen of Hearts said…

That’s just his way, DwD, ignore it.

Besides, “Change We Can Believe In” ain’t exactly knocking’em over in Peoria; otherwise, Obama The Experienced would have been way ahead (ten to fifteen pts.) ever since Hillary was shoved aside in June.

The reason Obama was reduced to simply parroting McCain’s responses is because his pool of knowledge on many issues is quite shallow and his vaunted speaking abilities are quite limited when he’s forced to step away from the teleprompter and put his words together extemporaneously.

If Obama was the kind of once-in-a-generation, latter-day-Cato the obamatons pretend he is, he would have been able to say more than “uh, yeah, me too” when he agreed with McCain. Too often, he could neither elaborate on McCain’s position nor offer any coherent criticism of it. The Russia-Georgia conflict is a good example. McCain immediately pointed to the strategic importance of the Black Sea, while Obama… well, he just, uh, mmm, agreed with Senator McCain.

BTW, do you really expect us to believe that Obama supporters like it when he expresses his agreement with McCain? Consider for a second: what are the transitive properties of political positions? If McCain agrees with Bush, and Obama agrees with McCain, then I guess Obama agrees with Bush! On many issues, an Obama administration would then be just a continuation of the Bush administration, right? Do you want 4 more years of George W. Bush? Eager for a third Bush term? Then vote for Obama! He agrees with McCain, who agrees with Bush!

If this is a trivial complaint when directed against Obama, then it must also be trivial when directed against McCain. But to many, if not most, obamatons, McCain’s agreement with Bush is not a trivial matter, so I guess you’re just bullsh*ting us when you say you just adore Obama when he says “I agree with McCain.”

If I was a betting man, I’d wager (not too) deep down inside, you hate it when The One fails to distinguish his position from McCain’s, even when he does in fact agree with him, because his failure to highlight their differences undercuts the main thrust of his campaign…

… to say nothing of the grist it provides for the sound-bite mill.
