Unscrupulous borrower Chris Dodd and Dingy Harry Reid are holding a blame-McCain press conference. After stomping his feet up and down and baiting McCain to take a position on the bailout, Reid is now lambasting McCain for going to Washington and getting involved. “We don’t need presidential politics in this,” he whines. Then why did he publicly demand McCain go on record for or against the bailout?!

This is exactly what is happenning. Barney Frank let that cat out of the bag while gloating on Lou Dobbs Wednesday night. What is going on now is exactly what they have wanted. It should be clear by now to most people that we are seeing a political takeover in progress.

McCain is a senator, and is being paid to be a senator. Just because he happens to be running for POTUS doesn’t mean that he should stop performing his primary job function. That job function is being a senator. It is a shame that Duh-one thinks he can multi-task, yet he has been running for president and unable to perform his primary job function as senator. Or maybe he just wasn’t willing to actually perform that job function.
Either way, I would not read to much into anything that The Three Stooges had to say. I presume, that McCain has spoken with the Repub’s Representatives and let them know they had his support. I think that is what yesterday was all about. Showing support for the House Republicans over the Senate Republicans that were willing to sell us out.
My could it be possible that McCain has realized the power of his base? Just maybe a little bit? There is always a multitude of reasonings behind the handling of political issues. I believe that McCain has gone through the discussions between the Repubs House and Senate knows what they are working towards and decided that he had accomplished what he needed, as well as showing solidarity with the Repub House of Representatives.
Either way, he has shown that he takes his job function seriously as a senator, which tells me how he will handle the function of POTUS. Duh-one? Not so much…especially when he does the proverbial hollywood response.. hey, just call me (places hand to ear with fingers mimicking phone receiver)..

I would say that this is a testament to the Democrats REFUSAL to work with him and the house Republicans. I am hoping he learned that their is NO non-partison cooperation possible with the Democrats unless you capitulate to their positions.

Instead talk to conservative radio and t.v.. She’s already sat for Sean Hannity; she needs to go on The O’Reilly Factor, Neil Cavuto, Glenn Beck, etc.. Get her accustomed to the friendly press before she takes on the lions who are not going to set an even playing field in the first place.

Really, why do you highly doubt it. The democrats ignored the house republicans, saying they had complete agreement. They refused to vote on any energy bill or even debate it. If you watch Schumer and Frank, you will see that it is only their way or the highway.

Apparently, there is some solution that he was comfortable with. So he is going to debate. Having said that, I know there could be a disappointment ahead and I reserve judgement. I am neither condeming him OR patting him on the back. I just want to wait for more information. By the way, off topic, I thought George Bush seemed so fatigued, he couldn’t string two words together. He sounded like he was on tranquilizers or something. He has never been very ar-ti-cu-lut. But he sounded awful today!

We need to get American’s together and “flush the toilet that is our Congress”. Some sort of grass roots organization that will get the flotsam and jetsam out of the House and Senate.
For too long they have not represented us – look at the oil and financial issues that are effecting us today. Too many of them have been looking out for themselves and not us.
This group should not be solely GOP or Democrat…it should be across party lines (and will probably attract mainstream voters of both parties).

If you want to put this country back on the correct track, then vote libertarian in your local, state, and federal elections. There is no two-party; there is only one party. Listen to them talk about this bailout: they use the same cliches, the same exact words. They keep saying there’s a crisis and that it would be catastrophic, but no one will say just what the crisis is. They’re proud of bipartisanship, but there is no such thing; it’s just one party with no real differences and with the shared desire to maintain their power.

First he flies in like a shining armor, disrupt the almost done deal of Dud,opps, I mean Sen. Dodd, Re(i)d, Sc(h)umer, and then gathered his troops for a powwow, and issued a bold statement that he’s not going to Mississippi and debate BO if there’s not acceptable solution or a an appearance thereof, to the financial crisis. BO flew down to Mississipi, taunted McCain that the debate and the issues in Washington can be handled at the same time and that he (BO) can be reach by phone if needed. Big opening for a flank attack here. McCain, stalls BO by vascillating whether he’s going to debate him or not, freezes BO right before BO kicks a tie-making field goal. McCain made a final arrangement with his top aides, sending them to MSM talking heads tv shows, laying out the feasibility of the proverbial “light at the end of tunnel” as a pre-condition for him to go on with the debate. BO and his gang became complacent and here comes McCain roaring back in the arena ready to debate BO, who now must gather his thoughts and teleprompters at a short notice to regroup. Nothing short of a brilliant move from a former jet fighter pilot!

Rush just sumarized the white house meeting. Paulson called the meeting to set up Obama to gain political favor by finalizing ‘the deal’. During the meeting Obama took over but his incompetance got in the way closing the deal. He started ripping on the Republican position based on an email he received on the way to the meeting. Again, he didn’t know what he was doing without the teleprompter!!

There was never any “agreement” or “deal.” Whatever. I have a couple of thoughts on this;
The high level of partisanship we see with the Democrat Party leadership leads me to dis-believe ANYTHING they have to say.
They have shown time and again their levels of dishonesty on things that have nothing to do with governance.
For example, after McCain announced that he was returning to Washington to help craft a deal, the Dem. leadership and partisan harpies, set up their rhetorical talking points by insinuating that “they didn’t need Presidential politics injected into the process.” That message was repeated ad nauseum PRIOR to the White House meeting. Afterwards, what did we hear from them. “John McCain screwed up the ‘agreement’ by injecting Presidential politics into the process.” …And it continues!
The only ones to suggest that Pres. pol. played any role in the disclosure of a horrible bailout proposal were Democrats.
I, like many of you, was yelling at the TV, gesturing at Reid and Dodd at their little partisan diatribe this morning. Tonight we are hear to talk about foreign policy, but I feel that there is an issue that all of you want to hear our positions about – this country’s financial crisis. My opponent has, in his 2 years in the Senate has collected over $100,000.00 in financial contributions from current and former employees of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He has at least two former executives of Fannie Mae that are currently advisers to his campaign. He has not presented a bill or voted for any sort of oversight on the financial markets during his time in the Senate, but had encouraged funding of programs that have engaged in fraudulent practices, such as ACORN, which have engaged in deceptive voter registration practices and financial mismanagement of funds to the disadvantage in our inner cities.
This campaign is about restoring your faith in the President of the United States and the Congress, not in allowing Washington to “do business as usual”. Your vote for me, and my running mate, is a vote for true change, change that I will fight for. I am the real candidate for change.

McCain did great and I am glad he is returning to the debate tonight. Now he can put the focus on how he, not Obama, decided to return to DC and see what was happening. In the state senate, how many times did he not vote? Or are you talking about the 3.5% of the time he voted “present” as not voting. Take a loook at the percentages of other Illinois state senators and you will find he was not out of the norm. As far as U.S. Senate, he’s voted more often than McCain during their tenure together.
And how are those qualifications to be President? How are those qualifications better than Palins?
