Diversity racketeers want their piece of bailout pie
This is how we got into the subprime mess in the first place: Pandering to minority grievance lobbies.
Here they come again, with the backing of race hustler Rep. Maxine Waters:
WASHINGTON, Sept 26, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — Maria Kong, President of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) today urged Congressional leadership, President Bush and Secretary of the Treasury Paulson, to act fairly and responsibly to ensure that minority-owned real estate, finance and legal professionals are included among the firms tapped to manage the multi-billion dollar asset portfolio the government plans to purchase from failing Wall Street investment houses, and flailing financial institutions.
“Minority business participation in this $700 billion bailout is as crucial to rebuilding our nation’s economy and stemming further community destabilization as shoring up Wall Street. We wholeheartedly support Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Chairwoman, Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity and urge her colleagues, and the Administration to heed her consideration in this matter. As compromises are made to gain full support for the legislation’s passage, there should be no compromise with regard to minority participation in the plan’s implementation,” said Maria Kong, President of NAREB, the nation’s oldest minority trade association founded in 1947 to ensure equal housing for African-Americans and other disenfranchised minorities.
“Minority real estate and finance professionals are imminently qualified and poised to be part of the economic recovery. Urban and minority communities have been devastated by the economic downturn. And as importantly, minority professionals are part of these communities. As Secretary Paulson and Congress extol that transparency is key to the plan’s success and restoring public confidence in the nation’s financial system, the transparency in implementation must show that the expediency of the moment does not negate the inclusion of America’s minority professionals. Our businesses and our communities deserve the same opportunity for an economic turn-about as Wall Street does,” Ms. Kong concluded.

Race hustlin’ is how they put bread on the table. Booker T. Washington would tell ya that.
Never.
This statement utterly disqualifies these morons from any debate with intelligent people.
I’m tired of this minority pandering crap. Your race/ethnicity does not qualify you for anything, ever!!!!
Get the frick out of my pocket
They just never give up, do they?
“We need a handout. It’s hard out here.”
Dammit I’m living on the smallest budget and no one’s offering to bail my butt out. Go Fiscal Conservatives!
How about we get them jobs instead?
How about we take out the gangs and educate them instead?
How about we stop surpressing them by taking out Jackson, sharpton, Wright and their ilk and let them have self-esteem instead?
The slave party will NEVER give up.
Gee Congress, I need a new suit, my sock drawer is empty, somebody needs to mow my grass and I think I am 1/8th Creek Indian. I need a bailout too. When will you send a check? Soon I hope. I am way behind on buying lottery tickets and liquor.
” minority-owned real estate, finance and legal professionals..”
You’ve got to be kidding me! Surely they’re aware of their (relatively speaking) overwhelming contribution to this mess on the default end???
They think your community organizers, they want to get the same cut as ACORN.
Even if the bailout were the only best thing that the govt could do, they will eff it up by attaching everything under the sun to it. This is exactly what the Dems love. They get to blame all the US’s problems on the Republicans and then get to pork up the answer to the problem. They get their cake and eat it too.
Maxine Waters seems to be rather unstable. She said that Big Oil should be nationalized in a hearing recently.
Whacky Chavez energy plan.
There was a great article in the Northwest Arkansas News this week on what got us into this mortgage mess. It was the granting of high-risk loans to low-income families (primarily minorities). The author delves into the roots of this and names some of the government meddlers.
I am not racist, bigoted, or prejudiced. However, this is the result of diversity, quotas, affirmative action, government meddling in free markets, and unadulterated greed.
This is why the bailout package is going to FAIL.
The Dems can’t help themselves. Everything is a chance to feed at the trough.
Keep reminding the Congress critters that we get to decide if they keep their jobs or not Nov 4th.
Just say No.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
No.
The problem (crisis) today is a result of uncontrolled, unqualified “lending” by greedy institutions to greedy individuals who couldn’t afford to pay their bills. Now they want to use the bailout as a pure giveaway to protect the greedy squanderers. Since I made mine and kept it, they now want me to pay. The american dream used to be about earning and enjoying a good life, not subsidizing the irresponsibility of others.
Ive seen this coming from the start.
When and if they ever start deciding who gets there house saved , it will be based on race and ethnicity—-again.
screw that !!!
Money is green, contracts are black and white. If you still can’t afford the house, get out !!!
And oh by the way, this time we need to see your work history, financial reccords and your BIRTH CERTIFICATE.
Brian72, that’s the whole goal of the government we have today. Not only nationalizing oil companies, but most major corporations as well. This is to “protect us” and the economy. That, and an excuse to tax corporations even higher. No wonder corporations are moving out of the U.S.. Who wants to pay 36% corporate tax in the U.S., when I can move my company base to..say…Ireland and pay 15%?
On a positive note:
My Rep, Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, replied to my email and stated that she is against the bailout plan.
Rep. Tsongas has been in office less than a year, so she is still more vulnerable to voters than to the leadership, even though she is a Massachusetts Democrat.
She goes on to say the whole thing is President Bush’s fault, but bottom line, she plans to vote against the bailout.
Washington, DC, cannot generate enough BS to cover its blame in this financial blow-out. Greed had little, if anything, to do with it.
Just like the changes in the climate, we are in a cycle, It is one of the vicious cycles with which we live.
Gas goes up; people whine for lower prices and begin to buy cars that are less expensive to drive. Gas goes down; they forget that it will go back up, and they trade in the bug for the Hummer. It has been going on since the seventies, that I know of.
Credit, housing, hey! Elections! seems about the same. Whine for something you don’t have, find someone to give it to you and then discover you get screwed again. Follow a revolution to get a new leader and - guess what? - Screwed ‘00, ‘04, ‘08
It’s amusing how congress, when they find themselves making mistakes, always blames the President, along with the people. Well, it is easier to blame 1 person than 2 houses of congress. Following their logic, for example, if I suggested to you to rob a nearby bank, and you agreed and did it, I would be the one going to prison and you would get to keep the money and stay free. It’s all politics and the blame game. Last time I checked, the congress appropiates money and passes bills, not the President. The candidates can make all the speeches and debates they want on economy. Doesn’t mean a thing if the congress doesn’t act.
132 pages now. hasn’t been 42 pages for many days.
disclaimer: that was yesterday
correction:
102 pages not 132 per yahoo again that was as of yesterday
Since they want everyone on board for this POS, everyone will get something in it. House Repubs will get a couple of bones tossed to them, then they will cave.
I have quit paying attention to this or the McCain/Obama. All it does is keep me mad all of the time.
I predict that this bailout will pass, the one(80 Billion) that went through the House yesterday will pass, and things will be rough for a few years. Then it will be time to hunt these idiots with torches and pitchforks.
Rush had a story that senator grahamnesty said that this is a bailout for acorn [the community organizers' organization]

when will this madness end?
This Video needs to go everywhere it needs to blow up, I know Hot Air Posted it.

Wait a minute! I’m a minority: I am white. Doesn’t that count for something? Please send me a check!!
Quit throwing the race issue into this. If you can’t handle the job, then find another line of work. The mortgage mess has happened in a great part because of the way they were handed out to minorities and others who couldn’t afford to pay.
JDinTX, off the wall question for you.
Did you graduate high school in 1975…in Garland?
And Olson Johnson was right about Van Johnson being right…
The Poverty Pimps can’t help themselves. They go into a feeding frenzy when there’s money to be gotten from the fruits of someone ELSE’S labor.
The strategy in an election year is to have those up for reelection vote the way the people want to fool them into voting for these candidates and to have the rest of congress vote they way they want and hope everyone forgets about that vote when it their turn to be reelected. None of it it about us.
Hmmmmm. Sounds like Napoleon, Squealer and the pages of Animal Farm are coming to life.
and to think i used to help all my buddies with their home projects for free beer…how stupid of me. I don’t suppose we will hear any proposals to fund the new media truth tellers with any of this imaginary money…
Why is this country continuing a gradual decline on every front? These fleas and ticks that live off the rest of us. Socialist democrats and the infestations they represent. They give nothing to society and expect something in return.
I for one am tired of carying the minorities and anyone else that claims they are owed something all the time, reaching into my pocket for more money, and can’t find the will to work and help our country.
At what point is political correctness trumped by survival?
I said this on Hot Air and I’ll say it here. It’s time to stop this minority crap. This is part of the reason we are in this dilemma now. We should demand that our tax money only goes to the best and the brightest. I’m tired of politicians buying votes with my money and then using their office to take away my rights. No more.
Don’t know if this has been said here yet, but this socialist woman, Rep. Maxine Waters is the same one who wants to…
NATIONALIZE ALL of AMERICA’S OIL, just like Hugo Chavez does, just like ahmamadjihad does.
Why are the Dems so mad?
The Dems were stopped by McCain rushing to DC.
McCain brought the media and all eyes to bear on what they were trying to do,from 20% of profits to ACORN to putting people like Jesse Jackson or Rangel or other minority entitlement kings on the ‘team’ to write this moab give away. They’re not quite satisfied that Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are in on this, they want even MORE.
They want to pay off the homes for the people who CAUSED this to crumble. I have ZERO sympathy for those people, ZERO.
Like Zerobama’s hand salute, like his brain cavity, ZERO.
HOUSE REPUBLICANS SAVED US, but it’s not over.
CALL EVERYONE YOU CAN THINK OF. Forward these articles, then mow the lawn.

KILL THE BILL!!!!
This bill will be 500+ pages of pork by the time they are done. They are trying to use fear to get this passed, I heard today that if the bailout is not passed our soldiers could be put in harms way. Nonsense! Kill the Bill!

Mad,
thanks
Has anyone bothered to look at just who the principles have been that have been managing FreddyMac and FannieMae? Uh, yeah, they are African-American minorities, no?
Who wants to bet that Maxine is trying to line up some “po’k” fo herself? She, that justified the anger and lawless violence in LA following the Rodney King incident…”We yo’ mamas…we yo’ sistas…we yo’ aunties…”
I won’t ever forget this opportunistic racist, and what she has done to harm race relations in California’s inner-cities. A white, hispanic, or Asian person cannot walk down the streets of LA, without being very aware that a simple glance at a young black person might very well cost them their life.
Thanks for nothing, Maxine.

Have you noticed also that the Democrats, who were ALL in favor of Paulson’s Bailout Plan, and wanted to cram it down our throats, are now demonizing it as the Bush/Paulson Plan?
They have suddenly decided that the original proposal was being forced upon them by “the idiot” Bush. Another case of “it’s Bush’s fault.” Obviously, our resident trolls will promote these Ineptocrat talking points.
I wish the Republicans would just come out, and tell us, who on the Democrats side is promoting what, for whom? It has gone beyond an issue of confidentiality…it is NOW and issue of accountability.
I remember talking with some business professionals back in the 80’s and 90’s. They would just get around the “Minority Owned” contract clause by putting their wives or friends names on their companies. (with their approval/consent) Even though those people never did any work at the company themselves…
I would guess that whose loopholes were closed at some point. lol
It like I always have always asked management in the past…. do you want to play the numbers game? Or do you want reality. (dont lecture on ethics because Im not talking about cooking the books or avoiding legal/regulatory responsibilities)
Just FYI - research the Electoral College
Our government already thinks/knows that the average citizen can not be trusted with decision making or understanding legislation.
Correction:
I just sent my rep a message to remind her that the world revolves around and relies on bald military veterans who reside in rural areas. I think my bills could be added and make only 43 pages. I don’t want to be greedy but I know I rate at least as much as a REAL ESTATE AGENT.
Worse and worse.

My campaign slogan
Free Stuff!!! Free Stuff!!! Stuff the ballot box and I’ll give you free stuff!!!
Can ANYONE explain why the Dems need anything from the repubs on this ? I can’t believe that no one but Rush has comment on this.
This is the email I have sent to the NH congressional delagation. It started as a email to Carol Shea Porter, and then i thought what the hell, let’s send it to everyone.
Bailout = Bad news for taxpayers
I am tired of Congress believing that the taxes I pay is their money to do with as they please. ALL of congress, including Ted Steven’s earmarks and all of John Murtha’s earmarks. Now you want to spend our money on this bailout, but not happy with that the Dems seem to want to hang all kinds of stuff off this “Christmas Tree” I think the house republicans might be onto something with their insurance plan, although I’m not really sure any of you have the economic experience needed to spend this kind of money in little less that two weeks. What makes you believe that we are going to stand for this? What happened to the 300 billion dollars that was part of the stimulus package from the spring? You want to give more money to people who were dumb enough to buy houses they couldn’t afford, or who used their houses as ATM machines. NO, IT HAS TO STOP!! I am a single homeowner who drives a nine year old car because I can’t afford a new one. Since I can’t afford it, I am smart enough not to buy one. My property taxes this December are going up, so I have to bank about $375 per month to cover that. I bank money each month to pay for my propane bill this winter. I don’t want a hand out, I want congress’s hands out of my pockets. As much as you complained in your election bid in 2006 about Bradley voting with his party I ask you haven’t you been doing the same thing? Are you so confident that the Democrats know everything and if we just follow their lead all will be right with the world? I don’t think so, and many, many people agree with me. So I ask that you people stop posturing for the elections this fall and really put the taxpayers first for a change. Hey, that would be a change we could believe in.
If I posted what I am thinking I would need a lawyer.
You and me both.
I’m beyond sick of this crap. What’s worse is the inaction by the people we elected to protect our rights and interests.
Alright!!! You got my vote!!!
I support minority-owned businesses bailing out this mess–on the pay-in side only. Open your minority-owned checkbooks and scratch a minority-owned check. Otherwise, you and gerrymander race-pander Maxine “muddy” Waters can stay the hell out of this.
No $$$ for race-baiters. Not one nickel.
Finally! FOX has been talking about ACORN all day and their inclusion in this housing
bailoutboondoggle. They are only touching the iceberg though, of what this organization has been doing. It needs MM’s touch to educate them. When will Maxine Waters chant:
NO BAILOUT, NO PEACE
Fixed that for ya.
There, fixed it for you, Maria.
Since when do minority homeowners get any special consideration, especially if they contributed to this mess to begin with? Does their stupidity qualify them for a bailout? Yes, get your “reparations” that certain minority groups have been clamoring for for years.
Sub-prime/NINJA mortgages= reparations for the ignorant?
It’s not taxpayers’ responsibility to bail out the black community whose idea of “living within their means” is getting super expensive Cadillac Escalades with tricked out wheels to go along with their trendy, overpriced McMansions that now they have trouble making payments on and have to move as many family members into the place to afford the mortgage. It’s not the responsibility of the taxpayer to bailout irresponsible homeowners who walked away from their properties that were totally scrapped and wrecked so that nobody could live in them.
Am I the only one who thinks that we’re living in an upside down universe or what?
Does anyone know if the ACORN funding was stripped from the bill?
Maria Kong, have you no shame?
From the WSJ Online:
Don’t fall for it! Until the final draft is written and passed, rest assured the Democrats will try to find a teet for ACORN somewhere in this plan.
