Gingrich gets back on the couch with Pelosi; Pence remains a stalwart “No!”

You’ll note that when Newt Gingrich announced his opposition to the bailout last week, I wrote:
“Couch buddies no more. For now, anyway (emphasis added).”
I knew he’d be back on the sofa. So did you.
STEPHANOPOULOS: “Speaker Gingrich, there’s also, I think, a recognition, at least in some of the polls I’ve seen, that something has to be done.”
SPEAKER NEWT GINGRICH: “Sure, look, something has to be done. … I suspect were I still in Congress, in the end George [Will] is right, and I probably would end up voting reluctantly yes, because I think when you’re given no choice …”
God save us from bipartisanship.
***
Update: GOP Rep. Mike Pence remains a staunch “NO!” Thank you, Rep. Pence…
Republicans improved this bill but it remains the largest corporate bailout in American history, forever changes the relationship between government and the financial sector, and passes the cost along to the American people. I cannot support it.
Before you vote, ask yourself why you came here and vote with courage and integrity to those principals.
If you came here because you believe in limited government and the freedom of the American marketplace, vote in accordance with those convictions.
Duty is ours, outcomes belong to God.
We have fought the good fight. Now we need to finish the race and make sure that posterity and the American people know there were conservatives who opposed the leviathan state in this dark hour.

What is this ‘we’ stuff all about? Is someone pregnant?
How did these morons raise children?… just say NO!
Leviathan swells to cast an ever larger shadow over those it hasn’t crushed.
While it wasn’t as bad as all of that too am [again] disappointed with Newt. I guess this is what happens when your own party decided to join with the Democrats in attacking you.
The Democrats don’t need the Republicans to pass this bail-out. This is unpopular with a majority of the country. Let the Democrats and Obambi take the heat for this and don’t give them any cover.

Obsta principiis!
Let the Democrats pass this toxic bill without the support of one conservative after all they don’t need one Republican to ram this through the House. Queen Pelosi and Dirty Harry Reid can take the blame for this screwing of the American taxpayer after all their inept leadership gave us the energy crisis that has also led to this financial crisis.
As I suspected, this bill gives more power to whomever has the majority, via the various committees. It does not protect the US Taxpayer, and is so cleverly written to include VAST loopholes for cheaters in congress, and their buddies in the financial sectors. It makes me ill.

ya know Rob, I am starting to like you… just starting mind you.
To Newt I am afraid, he needs to be seen as doing something, rather than doing the right thing.
Now that NASA has said the sun has entered a quite period, and most are saying global warming caused by man has at least paused, will Newt get up once more? Step back from that hoax Newt, get your hand out of the taxpayer’s back pocket.
Has anyone thought what is going to happen to the dollar when the government prints a cool trillion fresh ones?
I notice that the One is now hedging his bets on this bill that is supposedly the plan that he recommended two weeks ago. At least, that what he said to Stephanopolous this a.m. Paraphrasing: “It was all ME, ME, ME!! If it wasn’t for ME, ME, ME, nothing would have been done that would help the American people. Does John McCain get any credit for this? NO, NO, NO”.
And now he’s “hoping” to approve the bill? His own bill??
Only the devil himself could fool this many people this much of the time.
Guess that makes Gingrich a “RINO”… Add him to the MM s*it list.
I heard he has Daddy Yankee on his Ipod…

vicki, I assure you that he of whom you speak needs a teleprompter not.
Dodd, Frank, Reid, and Pelosi up there announcing the new bailout bill. I can’t stand the fact that a) these 4 people are still in office, fixing a problem they caused, and b) they are blaming all this on Bush/Republicans.
I don’t think Republicans are blameless, however if they let the Democrats put 100% of the blame on them then they deserve it.
The MSM is in lockstep with the left. I DON’T CARE. Republicans need to come out and start naming names, etc. These people make me so sick. If the Dems get away with this than the Republicans aren’t worth a warm bucket of spit.
The more I think about this I think the whole thing is a huge con.
Take a look at this video folks, it shows who is at fault for this mess in their own words.
This is yet another reason why Obama and his party can’t be rewarded.

Thanks for the vids Bill G. I watch those and my blood pressure goes out of sight. Lying democraps, always looking out for the poor and down trodden, how are they going to help those folks when this comes down and we’re all poor, hit by inflation?
If Johnson, Raines and others were cooking the books and or knew about the cooking why are they not charged? Oh yeah, Bush and his incompetent DOJ.
I hope the Repubs caught the most important (my paraphrase) snippet of Rush’s show on Friday: The Dems don’t need Republicans to pass this bill; they have enough votes. They need the Republicans for cover — and to repudiate the principles of conservatism by going along with it. After that, it’s all
gravysocialism, as The One will have billions at his disposal to make U.S. Socialism a reality. It’s why I don’t trust Newt anymore. He also worked with Hillary on her Health Care II.
As I have said many times before and will continue to say, ” Never , ever trust a draft dodger, be it Newt, Willie the Zipper, Little Dick,Cheney, Obama bin Biden, et al.
I’ll say it again… we need people in DC with the guts to press for and enact TERM LIMITS. I guarantee the vast majority of Americans (3/4 to ratify, in fact) would support term limits – seeing how less than 25% approve of COngress. That is the only way to get these jackboot, socio-communist thugs out of their comfy career entitlements.
I just …want …to vomit.
Does anyone know of a PAC or other organization that might be willing to put that 11 minute “Burning Down the House” video information into a series of advertisements???
If I was going to put money into this election, that is where the votes are going to be this election cycle.
If anyone knows who is out there, I would like to make a donation.
We wouldn’t need term limits if we could repeal the 17th Amendment, and let the governors and/or legislators appoint the Senators. Direct election of the Senators was a terrific way to strip all influence from the governors in the Republic.
Did anyone really think Newt and John Boehner had political balls. Never trust a philanderer or a sun tan golf addict.
Thanks Bill Grant for the vid #16. Passsing along to all I know. The dims are one dangerous bunch of pirates.
McCain/Palin go, go, go!
AMEN!!!

People are going to support this and then vote for Obama and the democrats, this November. Through ignorance and gullibility, they will ask for a government to control all aspects of American lives. Constitution be damned.
I disagree with Mike Pence – Republicans did not improve this bill. They did not kill it. The only improvement is the bill dead.
It’s like saying – the scientists improved the cyanide. It’ll still kill you but it takes twice as long.
Understand that the Republican for many, many years have been running interference for the Democratic Party. They are just two wings of the same party, and he is scrambling now to maintain his place.
Screw this “hands across the aisle” BS. The GOP trying to reach middle ground with the new administration will only give credence to their stated opinion that they have a “mandate” to “fix America”. BS!
The GOP should do what the lefties have done for the past 8 years … give them NOTHING. Let them sink on their own.
OBAMA IS NOT MY PRESIDENT
See, lgm? We can do it too.
