Much was said a short while ago about the disheartening fact that only 9% of Americans expressed confidence in our Congress. Yesterday's bailout vote showed why even 9% was undeserved. First, the bill. Michelle Malkin called it a shit sandwich....

The contents of the bill was not released to the public, the first posting I was able to find was by mm at 6:15, long after the vote ended.

Interesting. I'm really confused

I was for this bailout, mostly because I wanted to save the American financial superpower status + the millions of jobs at stake.

I found that yesterday my own dad was against the bailout, he was very skeptical whether the bailout will work at all...

I feel really bad for what's happening to “bulge brackets”. It's like a bad dream (at least for me, anyway).

So what are we going to do now? Wait and see?

Right now there are similar rescue plans (bailouts) going on in UK (Bradford & Bingley), in Benelux (Fortis SA/NV), and in Germany (Hypo Real Estate Holding AG). All of them are affected by US mortgage crisis.

Am I missing something or have the Democrats, starting with the Carter administration, been thinking with their hearts while passing bad legislation, causing this crisis, while the Republicans accomplished NOTHING to prevent it while they held Congress?

I will become a grandfather for the first time in January, 2009. I am furious that my government has given my grandson another trillion dollars of debt to hang around his neck.

I have called and emailed all my elected representatives - all I can do for now.
