Yes, this abomination that attempts to pass itself off as “art” is front page news for the Tribune, who barely mentions the graft and theft of $200,000 by a group of blacks in Evanston (first suburb north of Chicago) who were supposed to be using the HUD taxpayer-funded grant money to open an “African-American Museum”, instead, seven years later, it surfaces that they stole it and nothing was done. Nooo, why would THAT be big news in Chicago? Same old same old.

Well, sick as it is, actually its par for the course for a tavern and it is better looking than if it had been of any of the other canditates and from a business standpoint, might actually bring in business and sell drinks. I’m pretty sure having to look at nude paintings of McCain, Obummer, or Biden won’t sell drinks or bring in repeat business.

On a personal note, my own family has turned against me on this. All the anti-Palin rubbish you can imagine is believed by them and yes, I hear about it. Countering individual acts of nonsense is not too hard. But it quickly becomes tiresome to refute this, then that, and so on. I know my daughter picks this stuff up at school and my wife picks this stuff up in the newspapers (we have two: one extremely leftist, the other worse). So just as I have put on nose plugs to vote for McCain, I am putting on earplugs because of my support for Sarah.
Deal with it, probably someone will say at this point. Well, I am. In fact, I can handle the leftist rubbish quite well. But the fact that some high-profile conservatives, Kathleen Parker and Debbie Schlussel among them, have joined in the chorus — and folks, this is nasty stuff they are writing (it actually comes across as a personal vendetta) — is far more depressing.
One that’s been doing it for a long time. Probably wasn’t voluntary when she started!

Film Director Spike Lee said something very interesting recently. Now, I don’t Spike Lee or his films, but this is what he said: “Black people need to chill. Obama is running for president of all of America, not just Black America.” That’s a fine sentiment, but there is a very clear sense coming from Obama’s supporters that they view themselves as belonging to a separate nation. We can join that nation if we vote right, but if we don’t we really have no business being here and will have no say in what is to come. This is not a roadmap to civil peace.

I know plenty has been said about the creepiness of his daughter serving as the model… The thing that bothers me most is not just that he apparently used his daughter as a model for a nude portrait. He is clearly obsessed with Palin and has a bit of a crush on her… and she looks like the daughter who he is painting nude: “His daughter, who looks a little like Palin and does a great impression of her, served as model for the governor’s body.”
That adds a whole extra layer of creepy as far as I’m concerned.

The reporter didn’t comment on the use of daughter as model because he didn’t see anything wrong with it and, if he did, he certainly didn’t want to be judgmental.
