Kill the bailout: Dodd makes me gag
I’m trying to stomach the Senate floor “debate” on the trillion-dollar-plus Crap Sandwich — which isn’t a debate at all.
Let me boil it down for you so far: Over the past 45 minutes, I’ve watched GOP Senator after GOP Senator heaping praise on Chris Dodd for his “leadership.”
Unscrupulous borrower Dodd has now taken the floor to cite a Washington Post article quoting some German person urging Americans to support the bailout because he’s innocent and he’s getting hurt by financial uncertainty.
Having cited an Absolute Moral Authority abroad, Dodd has circled back to his “predatory lending” and anti-greed screeds.

Why, oh why is he even allowed to negotiate, or participate? This clown should be in prison…along with Frank and others.
How convenient for Congress that on the day American’s want their voices to be heard by Congress, the main telephone number is busy, all voicemail boxes are full, and they can’t receive email.
Crap Sandwich 2.0 tastes worse than version 1.0 but will probably pass, much to the dismay and anger of the American people.
I wasn’t able to get through on the DC phone numbers, but did get through to our local congressional offices to voice my concerns.
Also, make sure you call the national campaign HQ of both parties to tell them how you feel and that you will be voting Nov 4th.
I just registered as a volunteer to go door-knocking for the challenger here in this district, to do what I can to make sure the incumbent doesn’t get re-elected.
The only way to stop “business as usual” in Washington is to throw all of them out come Nov 4th.
Almost every GOP Senator is a waste of air. I don’t understand, this scandal can and should rock the democrats hard. The Republicans should be calling for Dodd’s head in that debate. The GOP is going to get blamed for this crisis and with their behavior this last week I’d say they absolutely deserve it. If this is the best the GOP can do its time to blow up the party and start over.

What the American people need is a foreigner to stand up and talk for them. Then congress will listen. HOw sad.

When is the GOP going to grow a pair? If this financial mess had been through efforts of repubs, the democrats would be screaming for them to be thrown in jail. Every GOP politico should be in front of the camera telling Americans that those culpable, Dodd and Frank especially, should be behind bars for gambling with the taxpayer’s money.
Gallup is reporting that 57% of Americans prefer that Congress start over with a clean slate on this “rescue” plan.

I’ve noticed that Dodd has a new hairstyle, must be trying to look European. That’s where he is going to have to move when he gets out of jail…

The bailout will sail through the Senate for the simple reason that only one-third of the bums are up for re-election. The other 67 are banking on us forgetting what they are about to do to us in two to four years when their campaigns come back around looking for votes.
The only thing that will clear a bunch of them out sooner is their convictions in a court of law. Bring on the grand juries and special prosecutors!!
I managed to get through to one of my senators by going to his direct #. Sent both an email again by going to their web pages – but since one is Switchback Brownback – I don’t hold out much hope.
Tried to call Senator McCain’s office, voice mail only, and of course the box is full. I did send an email but I doubt that it makes much difference either. This is an absolute election loser for McCain and he should be smart enough to realize it but apparently isn’t.
I can’t express my anger in public. How on earth would these fools believe that if we didn’t like the crap sandwich, we’d now go for the crap sandwich with lard added? NASCAR? Oh give me a break.
Let’s face it. A bill WILL pass because these friggin politicians need to make it seem like they are doing something for “us”. I am going stark raving crazy at all this insane crap the jerks are putting out. I am going stark raving crazy with the lying liberal crapweasels taking contol over EVERYTHING (except successful talk radio lol).
Liberals are kicking our ass on a daily basis. When are our Republican politicians going to wake up and get tough? Its seems as if they are incapable of getting down and dirty.

I saw somewhere yesterday (I think on this board) that Congress was deliberately limiting their incoming e-mail. They just don’t care to hear from us. But we can make damned sure they hear from us in November.

I just watched Alexis Glick and Shep Smith…two of the biggest shills on FOX state that without this bailout the sky will fall.

Looks as if this is turning out to be the October Surprise, and it’s playing right into the Messiah’s hands. Since this debacle, McCain has lost points in just about every poll, a 180 degree turn around.
As always, the Republicans are ineffectual at playing the game of politics. No matter how badly their nose is bloodied, they just can’t ever seem to muster the fortitude to fight back. The Democrats are always able to control the news cycle with their accomplices in the Drive-By Media, and no doubt will do so up to and beyond November 5th. McCain and his campaign better pull their brain buckets out of their hind quarters and get on it!

The main reason this “bailout” bill didn’t pass was because the “nay” voters didn’t get the pork they wanted attached to the bill. Politicians love to attach special interest items to emergency bills. Once they get their way, the “nays” will switch to “ayes”. One more reason why I am so throughly disgusted with our government.
When 50% of the American voting public seems headed toward voting for a socialist, Socialism seems inevitable. Our stoneless politicians seem to be the norm these days but we are, after-all, a representative republic and not a democracy. We elect who we are and not who we were.
I believe in God. I believe that everything is part of His plan. I suspect that for:
1) abortion to end
2) liberalism to implode
3) liberty to once again flourish
uncertainty and upheaval may have to occur — I suspect they won’t die quietly. Our character as a nation will be tested mightily.

the reason they are running this through the senate first is to be able to come up with something to shove it down our throats. i am going to keep pushing for no in the House. my senators are dumb and dumber (feinstein/boxer). There is no point in getting my blood pressure up trying to talk to them. I am going to keep the pressure on the House to vote no on this crap-tastic sandwich.

Obama’s Senate speech … he’s all about giving things to people, rather than helping people help themselves. He’s making a call to action, saying we all must sacrifice, we’re all in it together. What is the cause? Cause to be named later, after January 2009.
During his speech there was one other person in the frame, behind him, the socialist from Vermont, Bernie Sanders. How appropriate. Bernie was thoughtful and rubbing his chin like a kingmaker. His mind must have been churning at the thought of pushing through many of his own programs with a Prez Obama. This is his dream candidate.

The Senate is useless. It has been for at least a decade.
The House may be the last chance to defeat this bill. But, 12 Republicans and Democrats will be under the most intense pressure to switch their votes and vote for this travesty.
Frankly, I don’t think there are 12 people in the House that have backbone enough to stand up to the pressure and do the right thing. Of course, for the GOP is might be a little easier since Bush has virtually no ability to pressure GOP House members.

What we have been witnessing, and would continue to witness with this bailout plan, is Communist-run businesses buying out non-Communist-run businesses.
…like when JP Morgan Chase bought out Bear Sterns for a firesale price, but we the taxpayers got stuck with the $30 Billion in debt.
