Well his ears looks like the Dish so it’s fitting.
This is nothing new. Dish has carried MSNBC and CNN for years.
Many of my friends tell me that Obama has his own channel on the Douche Network.

In the movie “1984″ the scene that sticks in my mind all these years is one where “Big Brother is on this huge T.V. screen being watched by the mindless population.
Oh, that’s just GREAT! I’ve been hounding them for almost a YEAR to add the Fox Business network, but keep getting their canned response – blah, blah, whatever.
I just fired off an email to them:
Are you freaking kidding me??? I see that OBAMA now has his own channel, but a reputable network such as Fox Business is still not added after a year. You guys really do SUCK!

I called their customer service line at 8:30pm EST and was on hold waiting for someone for ten minutes. At 8:40pm Stephanie picked up the line. I first asked what programming was available on Channel 73, and she had no idea what I was asking. I guess a handy channel guide is too expensive for them.
I then explained that the programming on Channel 73 was devoted solely to Obama and if there was a companion channel for John McCain. Her response was an overwhelming silence, whereupon she said that they have a number of news stations specifically mentioning CNN and MSNBC wondering if that is what I was referring to. I had to stifle a snort as I explained to her that I wasn’t referring to either of the channels she mentioned, but to the previously described Obama Channel on 73.
She obviously didn’t have any information on the matter and then tried to make it a sales call asking first if I was a customer of Dish Network and second, if I wasn’t if I would like to subscribe to their service. I got the conversation back on track by asking if she could answer my initial question about the programming on Channel 73. I said that if she chose not to answer I could easily hang up, call back and ask someone else until I arrived at an answer.
I guess the compact fluorescent light bulb suspended above her head finally illuminated because she asked to place me on hold while she asked a supervisor for the answer. I then waited for another ten minutes. She then came back on the line and said that she had an internal memo dated 1 October 2008 that said that “The Obama Channel” would be available for customers in the “Eastern Arc” at no charge to them. It went on to say it was paid advertising from the Obama campaign and that no other candidate had approached them to advertise with a similar channel.
I then decided to try the “Live Chat Customer Support” service they offer and spoke with “Anthony K.” Here is the transcript that I saved:
Please wait while we find a representative to assist you…
You have been connected to (03) Anthony K.
Customer: Can you please provide information on the Obama Channel?
(03) Anthony K: Thank you for choosing Dish Network the leader in DVR and HD. I will be happy to assist you today. Please give me 2-3 minutes to access your account and review the information you have already provided.
Customer: I don’t have an account. I’m curious about the new channel.
(03) Anthony K: Thank you for staying online.
(03) Anthony K: we appreciate your interest.
(03) Anthony K: I will help you with the information.
(03) Anthony K: Effective Wednesday, October 1, 2008, DISH Network launched the OBAMA channel at no additional charge to customers.
(03) Anthony K: This channel is available to customers subscribing to all packages and is broadcast from the 110° orbital location and will be broadcast though the conclusion of the elections.
(03) Anthony K: This space has been purchased similar to any other channel we broadcast, and any other candidate who wishes to purchase a channel through DISH Network will be given the same opportunity. At this time, no other candidates have showed interest in purchasing a channel.

Anybody remember the part when Oskar Werner’s girlfriend Linda (Julie Christie) thought the TV was talking directly to her because it called her by name. Not realizing that the program’s particular message could be heard by anyone named Linda.
I smell George Soros all over this. What the hell would it cost to launch your own channel? How many millions? Just got off the phone with one of the Dish reps.
Didn’t get much satisfaction but did get my point made to the poor guy who had the misfortune to get the call. Somehow I managed to not get profane and told them if they have a channel for him there sure should be one for McCain.
I know nothing will get done but at least I feel better for voicing my opinion.
Will have to see if this festering p.o.s channel stays on. Just may have to become a direct subscriber.

I noticed this earlier tonight. We have Dish Network because until 6 months ago our community was still on analog cable and we have two HD Tv’s we wanted to take advantage of. I’ve been hounding Dish that we want FOX NEWS in HD when they switch later this yr we currently have it in SD. I believe though MSNBC and CNN HD are offered in lower tiered programming (cheaper per month) so more people would get those two networks.
Back to the Obama channel what’s next? I mean we have children singing,coins being struck with THE CHOSEN ONE’S likeness,shirts with his picture and now a propaganda channel. I feel like we’re in some bad movie about communist regime where people worship a dictator.
This thing with Obama that scares me hte most is he and his goons will shut down all alternatives to the media. Sounds like he wants all control. The lefty sites complain all the time about talk radio, Faux and how it is in bed with bush. Distressing that the liberals want it all.

Someone asked what that meant: It’s an open channel for all customers, it’s being sent from a satellite at 110 W longitude (over the equator south of Tucson, and the signal covers all of the USA). Because the signal covers the Eastern US, we have to assume that Obama’s campaign chose to not buy/allow that region’s service.
This has to be some kind of campaign funding violation. Oh, yeah, the FEC will investigate it in about 30 years when Obama relinquishes the presidency.

As a Dish Network subscriber I was shocked to see the “Obama Channel” last night as well. A quick fix would be to just put a block on the channel. They dial into the box everynight to make sure you are not using more connections than you pay for and I’m sure they pull viewing information and blocks as well to do their management reports to the program providers. That’s usually how the game works because they know how to bundle the packages to derive the most spend from their customers.
So Dish network now has the 24/7 uh, er, duh! channel. That public financing really goes a long way doesn’t it? Oh, that’s right…he lied, he isn’t doing public financing.
