Palin-bashing Associated Press cries “RAAAACISM!”
Putting the “Ass” in “Associated Press,” one of the wire service’s Obama water-carriers attempts to smear Sarah Palin as a racist for spotlighting Barack Obama’s longtime relationships with Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers:
Analysis: Palin’s words carry racial tinge
Palin’s words avoid repulsing voters with overt racism. But is there another subtext for creating the false image of a black presidential nominee “palling around” with terrorists while assuring a predominantly white audience that he doesn’t see their America?
In a post-Sept. 11 America, terrorists are envisioned as dark-skinned radical Muslims, not the homegrown anarchists of Ayers’ day 40 years ago. With Obama a relative unknown when he began his campaign, the Internet hummed with false e-mails about ties to radical Islam of a foreign-born candidate.
Whether intended or not by the McCain campaign, portraying Obama as “not like us” is another potential appeal to racism. It suggests that the Hawaiian-born Christian is, at heart, un-American.
Most troubling, however, is how allowing racism to creep into the discussion serves McCain’s purpose so well. As the fallout from Wright’s sermons showed earlier this year, forcing Obama to abandon issues to talk about race leads to unresolved arguments about America’s promise to treat all people equally.
John McCain occasionally looks back on decisions with regret. He has apologized for opposing a holiday to honor Martin Luther King Jr. He has apologized for refusing to call for the removal of a Confederate flag from South Carolina’s Capitol.
When the 2008 campaign is over McCain might regret appeals such as Palin’s perhaps more so if he wins.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, McCain continues to forbid his campaign from going after Obama for his longtime friendship and ideological partnership with Rev. Jeremiah Wright — and refuses to attack Obama on the Fannie/Freddie/CRA debacles because he fears being perceived as a racist.
Earth to McCain: They will see RAAAACISM in whatever you and Palin will say and do from now until Election Day.

I read the story. Disgusting. Yet another example for the AP shilling for the democrats. The story draws some very far-reaching conclusions that go well beyond the facts presented.
I think the AP scribe crossed the line.

I think the truth is McCain received a payoff to lose this race even though Americans don’t want him to because of the alternative…McCain is pulling a “Ross Perot” for the democrats.
Sarah Palin did well for herself Thursday…She needs to make sure McCain doesn’t ask her to do something that will tarnish her reputation…she needs to run for herself, not McCain from this point on.

Neither Palin in her debate with Biden or McCain in his first debate was quick enough on the draw. Both Palin and McCain should have been on the attack from the beginning saying that the likes of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd prevented regulation and management of FANNIE MAE and that they encouraged FANNIE MAE to buy any and all rotten mortgages that junk lenders like IndyMac and Countywide pedaled to FANNIE MAE. McCain should have said: “Look at the very first decision Barack Obama made as nominee: To choose Jim Johnson, the former CEO of FANNIE MAE, to be his search committee head”. McCain should have said: “Johnson covered up the fact that he was earning tens of millions of dollars at FANNIE MAE while leading the company to ruin”. He should have turned to Obama and said: “Do you know how much money your friend Jim Johnson made from FANNIE MAE?”
As for Franklin Raines, McCain should mention that Raines took millions while accomplishing nothing. If it’s OK to mention the stupidity of clowns like Richard Fuld, Jr., the CEO of Lehman Brothers, then it should be OK to mention Raines without being accused of being racist.
How does their double standard of internet humming square with Obama rhetoric and near AP silence when internet lines were in flames after Gov. Palin was nominated and still are?
Considering that Obama has made concerted efforts to stifle dissent through the court system, all of us should wonder what vindictiveness he’s capable of is he wins.
I wonder how long it will take before Obama ‘finds’ Islam again once he’s been elected.

With all due respect, Michelle, your post doesn’t really respond to the actual accusation of the AP: it merely says the AP is “attempting to smear” Palin.
And yet, what’s described in the article appears to be factual. Palin DID choose to use the word “terrorist” in connection with Senator Obama. William Ayers wasn’t considered a “terrorist” then, and by the conventional use of the word now, he’s wouldn’t have been a “terrorist” now. Like it or not, the Bush Administration has co-opted the word “terrorist” to mean “not like us” – Muslim, not white, not American, the Other – and so by choosing to use the word “terrorist” to describe people Senator Obama “pals around with,” Palin is weighting it down with those associations, including the “not white” part.
You cannot embrace the word “terrorist” to mean the things you and the Bush Administration want it to mean and then, when it doesn’t suit your purposes, complain when others point out that using it that way against a Black candidate sounds racist.
If racisim will work, McAmnesty better use it… or he is gonna lose.

I see no mention of race there, do you? For your further enlightenment, terrorism is defined as:

Still no mention of race.. so explain how you consider the term ‘terrorist’ or ‘terrorism’ to be racist. We’re waiting.

I always thought it amusing that the democrats, especially black democrats, get upset over someone voting against making a federal holiday of a black, conservative republican. It really is quite a contraction. But, then again, politics is always a contraction, depending on who you are addressing at the time. And, if Obama is found to be a foreign-born citizen, don’t worry. They’ll find something that will allow it; perhaps declaring the Constitution “unconstitutional”, or racist, at best.

I think the phrase “race simple” is the best way to describe RINOs, e.g. McCain, going wobbly over Fannie/Freddie. And folks, it is a preview of what will happen during the Obama Administration.
Consider: “Today, President Obama unveiled his multi-trillion dollar plan to lower sea levels brought about by global warming. Former Presidential Candidate McCain urged all republicans not to criticize it. ‘We can’t go racist on this most important of issues.‘”

Truth: Zayd is an Arabic name meaning “one who progresses and makes other people progress.” The most famous person in Islam named Zayd is Zayd ibn Harithah, who was the orphan boy fostered by the Muslim Prophet Muhammad.

They did it by appointing America’s first dictator, who will dictate which businesses and which mortgages are government supported.
The next time you want a mortgage and don’t like what’s offered or get turned down, just complain to the government and Premier Paulson will force the lender to accept your bad credit, lower the rates and the next trillion dollar bailout is on its way.

An interesting use of semantics. The Weather Underground used bombings and violence (bank robberies) to further their political agenda…Bill Ayres has been unrepentant about that. He and his organization were domestic enemies and terrorists.

Just a question about racism/terrorism…
So yesterday I am sitting on the R train in Cortland St. station (or was it Rector St., I confuse the 2) which has not re-opened since the WTC collapsed on it & I noticed this certain advertisement.
It said “Q: The Prophet Mohaed?, A: You Deserve to Know” (www.whyislam.com) & suddenly I felt as if I & everything I believe in is in a clear & present danger… Does that make me a racist? tell me the truth, I can take it.
With Palin going on about Obama ‘palling around with terrorists,’ can any of you honestly pretend that the Republican party cares at all about anything other than image and winning elections? Would anyone disagree if I asserted that you’ve basically ceded every issue to liberals and Democrats because you spend all your time obsessing about stupid crap like this?

Palin and others in his campaign; The left of course will decry this as the politics of personal destruction, but it is most important to articulate that it is even more relevant than it normally would be simply because the MSM as a whole has taken great pains to hide this information from likely voters; The McCain campaign must constantly connect the two over the next 30 days so as to justify the proper basis for bringing these questionable relationships to light; The MSM may or may not then commit to full exposure, but the people need to make the connection(AP et al as advocates for Obama and not the truth) before they will willingly analyze and accept the subject matter; Put it on the backs of the MSM and the burden will be theirs; This is possibly McCain’s only path to victory.
That’s all that ever matters. Were McCain and Palin to win this November, the party’s first priorities would be making them look good so they can win another election in 4 years.
In other words, it would be exactly like the Bush administration.
And the country would suffer.

Let’s get into what Bill Ayers has been doing since he got away with his “war against America”.
His educational project in Chicago, with Barack Obama is the next troubling part of this. From what I’ve seen, they had $100 million dollars, half of it taxpayer funded to “reform” public schools. Elementary schools. What did that reform consist of? Well, part of the program was to bring university-style left wing grievance mongering classes to elementary school, while not funding things like math, science and grammar. They were more interested in things like slavery and genocide to the exclusion of real curriculums. Some reform, huh? Sounds like they wanted to start up Chavez Elementary and Stalin High School.
Sarah started her public service career as a PTA mom. Her family is chock full of school teachers, her dad a science teacher. She has 5 kids, and they all are or have been or will be public school students. I don’t blame her at all for taking the terrorist angle on ayers, but she needs to flesh out the attack with Ayer’s education ideas. Because they are simply treason.
