Palin-bashing Associated Press cries “RAAAACISM!”

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 5, 2008 12:45 PM

Putting the “Ass” in “Associated Press,” one of the wire service’s Obama water-carriers attempts to smear Sarah Palin as a racist for spotlighting Barack Obama’s longtime relationships with Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers:

Analysis: Palin’s words carry racial tinge

Palin’s words avoid repulsing voters with overt racism. But is there another subtext for creating the false image of a black presidential nominee “palling around” with terrorists while assuring a predominantly white audience that he doesn’t see their America?

In a post-Sept. 11 America, terrorists are envisioned as dark-skinned radical Muslims, not the homegrown anarchists of Ayers’ day 40 years ago. With Obama a relative unknown when he began his campaign, the Internet hummed with false e-mails about ties to radical Islam of a foreign-born candidate.

Whether intended or not by the McCain campaign, portraying Obama as “not like us” is another potential appeal to racism. It suggests that the Hawaiian-born Christian is, at heart, un-American.

Most troubling, however, is how allowing racism to creep into the discussion serves McCain’s purpose so well. As the fallout from Wright’s sermons showed earlier this year, forcing Obama to abandon issues to talk about race leads to unresolved arguments about America’s promise to treat all people equally.

John McCain occasionally looks back on decisions with regret. He has apologized for opposing a holiday to honor Martin Luther King Jr. He has apologized for refusing to call for the removal of a Confederate flag from South Carolina’s Capitol.

When the 2008 campaign is over McCain might regret appeals such as Palin’s perhaps more so if he wins.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, McCain continues to forbid his campaign from going after Obama for his longtime friendship and ideological partnership with Rev. Jeremiah Wright — and refuses to attack Obama on the Fannie/Freddie/CRA debacles because he fears being perceived as a racist.

Earth to McCain: They will see RAAAACISM in whatever you and Palin will say and do from now until Election Day.

Fight or get rolled.

Wake. Up.

And by the way, Fat Jolly Penguin…why isn’t Ayers in prison for treason? Does anyone have an answer for that? Did he ever serve time? Why not?

I seem to recall that a judge (in Chicago?) threw the case against him out for some supposed “error” by the FBI. What it was I don’t know.

If Ted Bundy was still alive, and he was McCain’s pal, would that be okay? Hell, McCain was in Vietnam when Ted was offing college girls. And he only killed a few….

I’ve always had prejudices, just as everyone else does. But it has only been the rise of Osama Obama and his cult that has made me think I’m a racist, after all.

And you know what? If being against the election of an inexperienced, lying, venal Marxist who hangs with race-hustlers, felons and traitors is racism, then I’m a freekin’ racist!

And just to clarify, are you actually saying that a black doctor shouldn’t work on a white patient if that doctor went to Wright’s church?

Apples and Oranges. Wright has political and philosphical views of America, which – if Obama believes them – are relevant to his run for office. Political views of America have nothing to do with medicine. The only way the doctor analogy would fit is if Wright used his sermons denouncing say, “G.D. Pharmaceuticals and suggesting radical and non-traditional forms of treatment with which the doctor agreed. In that case you might be reluctant to make him/her your physician.

At this point, I don’t see what I’m losing if McCain loses. I mean, he sponsored McCain-Feingold and McCain-Kennedy; he supports “Living Constitution” judges (voted to confirm Breyer and Ginsburg and has praised O’Connor); he’s “pro-life” yet supports embryonic stem cell research; he’s a global warming apologist; he receives an F- from the Gun Owners of America for 2nd Amendment issues for many reasons; he has very well-known populist views of economics; he was a member of the “Gang of 14″; he voted for the $700+ billion pork chop, which was unconstitutional, unwise, and unjust in so many ways; and he didn’t even vote on the Clean [non-]Energy Act of 2007.
Just like with the rest of Congress, I’m not going to support someone who’s bailed on the values to which I’m dedicating my life to defending. If neither Obama nor McCain, or Democrats or Republicans for that matter, are supporting what I support, then I haven’t the slightest hesitation with seeking life elsewhere. I just wish more had the courage to do so. Most are more concerned with not losing what little we have left instead of trying to win.

I believe her intent was to shock, just as when she said she would not help a conservative if they were dying in front of her. She would step over them and walk away. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with his church, and even if there was, Obama or any other individual congregant are not defined by it.

That’s the crazy things about this Rev. Wright stuff. When you compare the two, they couldn’t possibly be more different, but Republicans insist they’re ideologically identical. It’s just ridiculous.

I have to disagree. It is a church founded on the black supremacy credo, wherein whites are blamed for everything that they perceive as being wrong in their world. It is no better than, and just as racist as, a white supremacist based congregation blaming everything on blacks or Jews.

The final nail in the coffin: the church’s association and appreciation of the radical Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, as well as the vitriolic Pfleger.

Obama did not dissociate himself with that church until the rantings of Wright became too much of a political liability. A mere week before, he said he could never do such a thing. And he spent TWENTY YEARS in that church, soaking up the hate filled sermons of Wright without a single objection. There are plenty other black churches on the south side.

You don’t have to be as overt as Wright to believe some or all of what he believes. Membership in a group like this is tacit admission that you agree with what they preach.

Good for you. Of course, you aren’t so ignorant to realize that there are some racists on the left, the right, and in between. I do know that the racists are out numbered by the rational and sane folks.
I spent a brief vacation last week in the U.P. of Michigan. It’s the hometown area of an old friend. I was the only black person is sight in Norway, Iron Mountain, and Hermansville Michigan. Still, I was treated like family and everyone was colorblind. I had nothing in common with these folks, but still had a great experience with great people.

It is like that now here in Southern California. Neighborhoods are colored. People talk only to people of the same color. The signs in the neighborhoods are in the language of the imports.
