I wrote them LAST year saying that the only sport I watch is football, but I refused to watch NBC football as long as Ol(biteme)man was on their show. I refuse to watch anything that man (?) is on.

Did anyone else make the point about Limbaugh losing his gig at ESPN when he made a comment that was perceived as racist in Oct. 2003?

ssnark, good point–it’s not just the politics that made it a horrible comment, but the sheer insensitivity toward Edwards’ injury. No one should be joking on air about any head or neck injury.

Especially when JP Losman is the backup.

Besides the political overtones of Barak Olberman…..NBC’s football analysis is terrible. Considered worst in the business by sports fans.

Though I am a Steelers fan living in Ohio, there is a local radio station that is part of the Steelers radio network. Even though I have to put up with a 2-3 second delay–the audio “leads” the video–I don’t have to listen to Olberdork (not that the rest of the on-air folks are any better to listen to).

AFBEN, that was my point. The only democrat supporting men that I know who watch football are minorities or on disability and they usually don’t know much about politics, they certainly could not tell you who their senators are let alone representatives. Olbermann is the typical liberal commentator, he does not know who is audience is. I don’t like having venues where I expect to get away from election issues to have it thrown at me. Olbermann is also the typical liberal, no class no professionalism, he is just like the people commentating here saying, what is the problem? It was a joke, you republicans are whiners. When they know they have cornered the market on “political satire” anywhere at anytime by 90% of the media being of their persuasion.

I left the following message on the Contact site for NBC.

I’m a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and watch Sunday football on NBC. However, given the commentary by Kieth Olbermann about “seeing Russia” during the Arizona game yesterday when Trent Edwards was injured during the game was beyond the pale. I found the comment, insensitive and lacking in taste or judgment. I love football and watch it regularly.

But, given Mr. Olbermann’s habit of injecting his political views in what should be an apolitical environment. I will stop watching NBC’s coverage of the NFL and encourage everyone I know to do so. In fact, I will opt for pay-per-view for myself and my friends rather than watch another example of Mr. Olbermann’s poor manners and bad political commentary.

Hopefully others will take similar action. Lost market share hurts them and will also cause the NFL to review their contract as they look to make money from NBC.

Olbermann ruins your NBC Sunday night NFL broadcasts for many people

Dear NBC Sports-

I haven’t been able to watch the Sunday night NFL game on NBC this season, because you put that no-talent partisan hack Keith Olbermann on the show. I read a report that during last nights’ broadcast, he took a political cheap shot at Sarah Palin. Can you fix this problem for me? I’d like to watch again. He has one of the lowest viewerships for his Countdown on MSNBC show for a reason.
