Salt,

I referenced a story at breitbart.com. That's where my information comes from. You are correct, again as far as my understanding of the story goes, that Gov. Palin did not send official correspondence with this account. This does not make it OK, though. It just makes it not quite as dumb a mistake.

I'd still vote for her. She's just one of those individuals in between my generation and my parents' generation who needs to get a clue about how to use a computer safely.

<strong>AP: Son of Democratic lawmaker indicted for hacking the e-mail account of Sarah Palin:</strong>

<blockquote>A federal grand jury has indicted the son of a Democratic Tennessee state lawmaker in connection with the hacking of the e-mail account of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

David Kernell, 20, of Knoxville, Tenn., the son of state Rep. Mike Kernell, was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge C. Clifford Shirley, according to a statement from the Justice Department.

David Kernell was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury in Knoxville for intentionally accessing without authorization the e-mail account of Palin, Alaska's governor, the Justice Department said.

Kernell, an economics major at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, faces a maximum of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and a three-year term of supervised release.

His father, a Memphis Democrat, is chairman of Tennessee's House Government Operations Committee. Mike Kernell has said he had nothing to do with the hacking incident.</blockquote>

It is my understanding that Gov. Palin’s email was broken into using three pieces of information:</blockquote>

Are you certain of this? You might be indirectly referencing a story posted by a /b/tard on 4chan.

While I believe the means of using the Yahoo forgot password feature is plausible, I haven't yet a verifiable statement that this was, in fact, how it happened. Did I miss a source?

Also, it was my understanding that Gov. Palin did not email anything on that account that could be considered sensitive to the state anyway, but to suggest negligence as if she is partially responsible for this hack is misguided and doesn't diminish the culpability of the hacker himself.

I get what you're saying, Kevin, but I believe you might be a bit too quick on the draw given the lack of details on the case thus far.

First of all, I'm a big Gov. Palin supporter, so please don't crucify me for what I'm about to say, however her lack of information security awareness led to this problem. No, it's not her fault anymore than a home break-in is the fault of a homeowner who leaves his doors unlocked. Of course, the homeowner is still a dummy for making it easy for the bad guys to break in.

It is my understanding that Gov. Palin's email was broken into using three pieces of information:

<strong>1. Her home zip code.</strong> Easily available for a state governor.

<strong>2. Her date of birth.</strong> Easily available for a state governor.
<strong>

<strong>3. Her security question, "Where did you meet your spouse?"</strong>
Gov. Palin talked about how she met her husband in high school at the RNC, and the correct answer to this question was "Wasilla high." Not a difficult answer to figure out.

Now I don't think Gov. Palin is a "dummy" (as I so eloquently put it earlier), but I think that a simple carelessness for what she was doing cost her in this case.

I also hope they prosecute this "hacker" to the fullest extent that the law will allow.

The only thing that really matters about Ayers is that this has been tried before and failed to bring Obama down. As it is failing now.</blockquote>

It hasn't failed yet. The election has not taken place.

Obama and Ayers worked together because they believe the same radical ideas about education, political activism, race relations, etc. Those ideas are also directly related to Rev Wright and possibly Louis Farakhan (a dangerous man).

The propaganda media has covered for Obama to this point. If only they put half as much energy into reporting about Obamas relationships as they have trying to destroy Sarah Palin. It doesn't surprise me as the media supports the Democratic party wholeheartedly.

The people are smart enough to do the right thing, if they know the truth. What is the truth about Obama? Will he implement these radical Ayers/Wright/ Farakhan views if he is elected. He says he won't. Or did he? Don't we deserve to know the truth?

Who is this guy really? The media is enabling him to obscure his past. If he has these views, do we want him to be elected?

McCain is the right man at the right time. We know him, we can trust him. He may not have the best plan but it is better than a pig in a poke. Obama is still an unknown entity because of the failure of the media to properly report on him. We can't take a chance on that just becasue the media has worked itself into a BDS frenzy.

We need the truth about Obama. You can not sit in a church for 20 years and not know what Rev Wright was saying. If you did, you are an idiot and shouldn't be President anyway. Lets elect McCain and then properly investigate the political views of Barack Obama in a non partisan, non propaganda way.

Nothing has failed. The election has not taken place yet. The issue of Ayers/Rezko/Wright etc is a very legitimate issue. While the mainstream enablers are not reporting these relationships in detail, the people deserve to know.

People can make up their own minds. To hide it from the people is a true failure of the media to properly report it. That is not a surprise to me as they openly support the Democratic candidate. They certainly jumped on Sarah Palin. If only, they had half the energy to report on Obama.

Obama had a relationship with Ayers because they believe in the same radical ideas for education, government, political activism, etc. They worked together to implement these ideas. So did Rev Wright and probably even Louis Farakhan ( a very dangerous man).

The idea that American systems are bad, need political activism and change as established by Wright, Ayers et al is extremely relevant and very important. Is it possible that Obama would fully implement these ideas? He says no? Or does he?

The propaganda from the media is overwhelming the truth here. I would like to see a further non partisan investigation into these ideas and these relationships. Don't we deserve the truth? I know you don't want the truth. You want Obama elected. But I think maybe you would prefer truth over created image so you know what you are going to get if your choice is elected. Be careful what you wish for.

McCain is the right man at the right time. Obama should be viewed with suspicion and should have more scrutiny into who he is before we elect him to the highest office in the land. Thats a lot of power to someone who may have some hidden secrets.

"My boy" is definitely not much better than the pure socialist you're voting for, but he's definitely the lesser of the two evils. I do agree with you that Obama will be the next president, unfortunately for this formerly great country.
