I remember when my kids were young….they threw a fit when I told them no. If they went ahead and disobeyed me, there were consequences.

There’s really no point in feigning indignation about the politicians in control of the system. If you’re mad, then stop voting for them. Vote third party. Vote out incumbents. Run for office.

But don’t vote for people who just called you stupid and and then violated your trust.

Has anyone considered how much money Paulson & Company will personally make off this fiasco? Seems to me there are big fat fees just waiting out there for investment, consulting, and other private firms as this $1 trillion gets distributed. Paulson is a lame duck and likely will end up in the private sector again very soon. I would hope there are conflict-of-interest rules that would prevent anyone who participated in the bailout on the gov’t side to then go private and make money off the very legislation that they helped push through, but you never know. Something tells me Paulson and many other supporters of the bailout will be stuffing themselves with this turkey.
