This is what they meant by “in your face”
A glimpse of things to come?
Via the Lufkin Daily News:
A Lufkin woman received a surprise visit from the Secret Service last week because of a “death threat” comment she reportedly made about Sen. Barack Obama to a campaign volunteer asking for her support of the presidential candidate.
Two federal agents arrived at Jessica Hughes’ home Thursday to ask her if she said, “I will never support Obama and he will wind up dead on a hospital floor.”
Hughes said her words were deliberately twisted by a volunteer who was apparently unhappy Hughes was rude during a phone conversation the two had. The Lufkin mother, a Republican, said she received a call on her cell phone Wednesday from a woman with the Obama Volunteers of Texarkana.
“She asked if I was an Obama supporter, to which I replied, ‘No, I don’t support him. Your guy is a socialist who voted four times in the state Senate to let little babies die in hospital closets; I think you should find something better to do with your time.’ (And then) I hung up.”
(Hughes is referring to a “born alive” Illinois bill that did not pass in the Illinois state Senate in 2005 and had previously been opposed by Obama because he said it undermined Roe v. Wade, according to FactCheck.org, a non-partisan organization. A federal version of the bill, which Obama said he would have supported, passed by unanimous consent and was signed into law by President George W. Bush in 2002.)
Obama Campaign Communications for Texas director Josh Taylor declined to comment Monday, refusing to answer any questions and referring the matter to the Secret Service, which he said is conducting an investigation. A message left with a Secret Service agent in Houston was not immediately returned.
This is what they meant by getting “in your face.”

The end result is the same. And it is the followers of a dictator that are actually the ones to fear. Without them, the dictator is a powerless weasel.
OK, sorry about that…
GO VOTE NOW.
I got an error on the link.
It is contingent on date.
Got it. Thanks.
Now… where’s the poll asking if Sen. Obama is qualified to be President?
Oh, how I now find it funny that I’ve seen so many lefties pull out copies of the Constitution from their pockets only to throw them down.
What they were really saying was, this scrap of paper means nothing.
No, say it ain’t so!
The only question that is still unanswered is will they wear brown shirst or blue shirts?
Who the %$^&*(( cares?! Why did Dems call him William Jefferson? To mask the fact he was Bubba the Intern Boinker?
Yup. The “progressives” sure are a classy bunch.
Glad this woman let the world know how the Obama campaign staff handles a voice of dissent.
Get used to it. There will be more of this.
Hatfield, what’s this?
Leagally? It’s called McCain/Fiengold. I spoke too to Tyler myself when it came down.
Glad to know you participated in AS.
To show that he is different, and hopefully scare some people from voting for him.
Rob, I have to admire your truthfulness. And the humor buried in here. This might be up there with “We need poor people to do the work the rich don’t do.” You’re actually quite funny sometimes.
He made a political choice. AS was more important to him than the White House. AS is doing great things, and I agree with his choice. There is no way anyone as President could remain on the board of anything.
Regardless, this thread is about Obama and his thugs stifling free speech. We should work this out on another thread.
Well!
I guess I’d better go get fitted for my orange jump suit now.
GEEEEEESS!!!!!!!!!
Talking about McCain/Feingold fits right in on this thread. If people wanted to run an ad supporting McCain, they can’t do it now. Why? (I’ll drop and move along, just saying McCain actually has a bill that prohibits free speech.)
Well, TOS, chap and MJ might disagree with me here, but I’m really hoping for blue. There’s just such a rich palette of blues to choose from, so I’ve taken the initiative of suggesting we really consider shades in the teal, baby blue or even royal blue family — I mean, there’s just so many options. Of course, these shirts will have to be mass produced quickly, so I suspect the color specifications will have to be quickly determined (and I don’t know if anyone really even reads those comment cards I submitted to the Liberal Affairs Office), but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Otherwise, I’ll wear the brown — but I won’t like it!
Bwahahahahahahahahahahah
But seriously…..
Since his entire name is apparently Muslim, only libs would be so thick as to need the “Hussein” to make a connection. But we leave the identity politics to you Obama supporters. We oppose him because he’s a Marxist/Leninist tool of George Soros.
Blue would be nice. Besides, brown’s been done.
nyk,
I happen to sit on the Dear Leader Uniform Palette Coordination Committe and I can tell you that we are leaning toward the main color being United Nations Blue with Burnt Umber trim as a sort of homage to the Brownshirts of old.
They are quite striking.
Get it ! “Striking”! As with clubs and such!
Might I suggest arugula green
Well, since Barack comes from the Hebrew “Baruch” and Obama is a Luo tribal name (fyi most Kenyan luos are Christian) you seem to be about 33% right, which is, suspect, actually well above your average. So kodos to you, txvet.
Blessed and beautiful, eh? Well, I suppose that’s a matter of opinion.
If we ever lose this republic — maybe I should say, when we lose it — my money will be placed entirely on the wager that the hoof-prints of the donkey party will be found all over the scene of the crime.
Sending the Secret Service to knock on the door of someone who treated a Hopenchange volunteer brusquely over the phone is just the edge of the wedge. If Hopenchange becomes president with a donkey Congress to back him up, expect to see an assault on the 1st Amendment through a variety of intimidation tactics:
- Clinton-style IRS audits of political critics;
- Clinton-style abuse of FBI files gathered on political critics;
- A return to the “Fairness” doctrine, along with its expansion to cover the Internet; and
- A movement to legislatively and judicially define selected organizations like the NRA, Judicial Watch and the Heritage Foundation as purveyors of a new — and constitutionally unprotected — form of “hate speech.”
And don’t expect the media arm of the donkey party — a.k.a., the “mainstream media” — to raise even a murmur of objection when it happens. Most of them would actually welcome the prospect of being rolled into a quasi “Ministry of Truth” under the donkeys, because their steadily declining readership, viewership, ad revenues and employment rolls have already shown that they can’t compete in a free market of ideas.
This is what to expect when left-wing hatred supplants the last vestiges of right-wing ennui as the motivating force in Washington, D.C.
I once read an internal US Army report from late 1942, criticizing our soldiers’ early performance against the Germans in North Africa. It concluded that too many individuals and even whole units, when facing the Afrika Korps for the first time, simply collapsed because the Americans couldn’t bring themselves to believe that they were in a life-or-death situation against an enemy who honestly meant to kill them.
One of the memorandum’s conclusions is as applicable today as it was 65 years ago: if you’re locked in an existential struggle with an enemy that hates you — in no small part because they’ve been trained to hate you — then you have to learn to hate as well.
Otherwise, you’re finished.
Does anybody here really believe that the modern-day donkeys don’t hate you? Not just disagree with you, but hate you? And when you mix their hatred with their paranoia, is it any surprise that they adopt a “By any means necessary” philosophy toward gaining the means to not only defeat but to destroy you?
This isn’t a game. The donkeys’ raw hatred of you is going to be the primary reason why millions of them are going to show up at the polls — and why, with ACORN’s help, they’ll be bringing their dogs, cats, comic book heroes and ancestors to vote with them.
And once they’ve got a lock on the executive, legislative and judicial branches, then they’ll turn their projection outward and we’ll get to see what they really mean when they accuse Republicans of “Fascism” and “Nazism.”
If we continue to face them with what seem to be the primary motivators of Republicans today — ennui, angst, recriminations and wishful thinking — will the outcome surprise anybody?
Then why does the right continue to use it and NOT use Biden, Palin, nor McCain’s middle name?
That One ‘08
Well, I rather enjoyed reading your comments regarding ACORN’s unlawful handling of voter registration. Good on you guys for stepping up to the plate and denouncin… oh wait.
We have to sign people up illegally to counteract all of the efforts of republicans to purge voter rolls.
Have you considered it might simply be a pejorative usage? Sure seems to be working like one.
Obama has got to be the biggest baby on the face of the planet.
What a damned wimp! He and his sycophants must fear that his frail ego and person cannot withstand criticism or derision.
The Alinskyan Candidate reminds me of a prissy kid who gets beat up a lot for being effete even when he tries to trashtalk others.
Come on, Chap. This is my work PC! Give a guy a spit warning, will ya?
is there anything people like you wouldn’t do to have power over other people’s lives?
the ends justifies the means, you’d have been right at home in nazi germany…
The President is often referred to as ‘W’. No harm there. The media often liked to use Nixon’s middle name (Milhous). This is a bit of a faux rage the left has worked up over the use of Sen. Obama’s middle name.
John Sidney McCain III
Sarah Louise Heath Palin
Barack Hussein Obama II
Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr
Does that satisfy you?
Maybe we should start referring to Joe Robinette Biden….
Well, I probably wouldn’t:
1. Go to church;
2. Spend a Sunday with atheling
3. Watch a WNBA game.
But other than that…
Yes, because heaven forbid we get rid of the fake registrants, dead folks, felons, and other illegal voters.
Still advocating the purple finger method. Then the left can only cheat once.
chapoutier: Its his NAME. Big fing deal. Is he ashamed of it or something?
I think you mistook me for someone who gives a crap what the unwashed rabble call Dear Leader for the next 3 1/2 months.
That’s like Dillinger claiming that he had to rob banks because they charged him a fee on his checking account.
That was actually pretty funny.
LOL! Nice one. (wipes tear from eye)
Delish!
Please. Republicans have used every underhanded, disgusting, disingenuous trick in the book (and some yet to be published) to defraud voters that undermined or threatened their status. I never cease to be amazed by what an art conservatives have made of lying. They treasure “truth” (or the closest proximation to it that they recognize, since they’re fuzzy on what the term means) only when they’re losing. Otherwise, they look the other way.
Actually, I think my accuracy would be somewhat above 33%, which at any rate would still be higher than yours. According to my quick research, “Barack” is derived from an Arabic word for “blessing”. Nice try anyway. Obama has no specific derivation from Luo, but is similar to the word for “bent” (obam) And it’s spelled “kudos”, accounting for your other error for that post. No points for you.
That’s already assumed by the MSM that he is, but of course!
Sarah Louise Palin.
There, you happy now?
Provide specific documented examples. There are dozens of documented instances of Democrat operatives and adjunct organizations reported in the MSM and resulting in legal action, on top of many more cases reported anecdotally in the blogosphere.
Txvet2 beat me to it, but I reiterate the challenge:
PROVE IT.
Prove conservatives engage in the intentional, willful, deliberate, systematic, and widespread fraud the Democrats do.
PROVE IT.
All we want is for every person who is legally able to vote to have one vote, cast in their name. It’s really not that difficult to understand.
Look it up. The Internet is littered with countless examples of Republican voter fraud from both the 2000 and 2004 (and attempts within the current) elections. You feign ignorance, but I don’t buy it. These issues are only of importance you when you’re threatened with losing.
Read: I don’t believe you’re unaware of these controversies.
You people really are too much sometimes. It’s like you wouldn’t recognize the truth if it hit you over the head.
…which is a derivation from the original Hebrew. But I will grant you that now we are literally arguing semantics now and bump you up to 66%. A D plus! Print this out and hang it on the fridge!
Translation: You’re talking out your butt. Take your Kosack trash someplace where they’ll put up with it.
nyk:
Quite frankly, you’re full of crap.
Don’t skirt the issue – provide us links. That’s YOUR job.
But I’ll gladly provide links to Democrat fraud. Here ya go:

It’s not that hard. Just point and click.
Methinks the liberal doth protest too much. They’re just ticked because Obama’s in a statistical dead-heat with McCain – which means people aren’t buying the BS Obama’s shoveling in the way they’d hoped.
So, when in doubt, cheat!
The unsupported ravings of liberal nutcases don’t count.
I dare you to tell that to the average Wahabbi Sunni Muslim. Duck, you sucker!
So, we’re still waiting for you to ‘hit (us) over the head’ with your truths.
And this ‘book’ of which you write–this book of tricks–is it written by the Democrats?
Then why such a fuss about the folks in Ohio who were rounding up “thugs” and “riff-raff” and homeless people to offer them a ride to the polling places to register and vote? They all have the right to vote. What is wrong with facilitating that process?
I can’t believe you wrote that seriously.
The groups doing this are obviously partisan, chap. If a GOP van rounded up homeless folk and told them to vote for McCain, you’d have a fit.
And, last time I checked, it’s really not that hard to figure out how to vote without having a liberal hold your hand through the process.
Wow, I grew up in Lufkin and Nacogdoches, it was a little surprising to see this news coming from home. I hope Jessica will be cleared of this stupidity, no one deserves to have the attack dogs called on them over something so stupid.
Who is going to do something about the Obama thugs? Is this going to set the tone for acceptable tactics from future presidential campaigns?
Slight correction. They have a right to vote once, in their own name. Otherwise, I frankly don’t have a real problem with it. After all, it’s not as if it hasn’t been done for about 200 years.
I wouldn’t care. Why would I be against anyone who has the right to vote exercising that vote?
Then… you’d be pleased that someone who got caught slashing tires on the vans that the Republicans were using for voter transportation got arrested?
As is every GOTV effort done on both sides during voting. Its called “ground game” and up until this year, the Republicans have been masterful at it. I don’t begrudge them that.
No one is forcing them into the van. no one is standing there with these folks in the voting booth, holding their hand while they pull the lever.
HOORAY!!!
Are you sure about that?
Why would I be pleased if I think the Republicans have a right to transport those voters?
You’re on a roll today. If this law thing doesn’t work out for you, you’ve surely got a bright career in comedy
No.
I’m for one vote, legally cast, legally counted.
Still think the ink finger is the best way to go…
soon your savior will implement the voter free choice act and he’ll do for all of us what he wants to do for union elections…
vote the right way, or the union boyz (democRAT mafioso) will pay ya a visit…
This is so silly. I can’t help but laugh when I read these kinds of paranoid posts.
your boy is a saul alinsky radical COMMUNIST. he’ll do anything to hold get and hold onto power. he consorts with terrorists like Dorn and Ayers.
thing is you’d be all for it.
Paranoid? Your guy is ALREADY going after dissenters.
Because it’s his name? Just a guess. By the way, you do know his first and last name are Muslim too, don’t you? I guess that means we can’t use either of those names either.
It’s pretty telling actually. A man who promises to save us from terrorists is afraid of and runs from his own name.
Case in point.
I’d rather they wear red shirts
I can’t speak for everyone, but I do it in part because I’m told that I can’t.
I have a real big problem with being told what to do by someone who lacks the legitimate authority to do so.
Besides, ticking off leftists is so much fun.
Well no offense, but the dead people do slow the line up something terrible.
I think from now on I will use Robinette for Ol’ Joe. It also explains a lot that has puzzled me about him.
Interesting take. I think most honest people would acknowledge that it was classic Republican fear-mongering — and I have to say, they are wonderful at it. I don’t for a moment honestly believe that you or anyone else here truly thinks Sheriff Mike merely liked the way the words rolled off his tongue. The intent was to incite fear, to imply that having the same middle name as a foreign dictator makes you a terrorist, to sharpen a perceived “foreignness,” to rile crowds and drive them to a belligerent frenzy — and then to pretend to be surprised when people yell things like, for example, “Kill him.”
Using his own name is fear-mongering? Possiably the stupidest comment made by any liberal I have heard in a while.
DEE DEE DEE
You hit the nail on the head nyk! And for that, enjoy this.
George W Bush
William Jefferson Clinton
George Herbert Walker Bush
Ronald Wilson Reagan
James EArl carter
Gerald R Ford
Richard Milhous Nixon
Lyndon Baines Johnson
John Fitzgerald Kennedy
I remember all of these names. So do most people.
Most people know these names too
John Sidney McCain
Sarah Louise Heath Palin
Barrack Hussein Obama
That’s news about Joseph Robinette Biden.
My point is, those middle names get quite familiar to people.
Obama better get used to it & stop being such a sissy if he wants to be president.
Oh, and by the way, an update on Mike Scott:
I got a phone call from my sister. Mike’s elderly mother is very upset. The harpies on the View were trashing Mike; Mike & Christa are getting vile, threatening phone calls at their home.
All for daring to speak the middle name of “The One.”
What a crime.
Wow, they really deserve all this abuse.
/
Only a taste of what is coming if obama wins.
Oh, but that seems to be just fine with some people on this blog, doesn’t it – if somesone dares speak his middle name, he deserves what’s happending to him and his family,
Who is this guy anyway? Voldemort from Harry Potter? “He who must not be named?”
/shameless Harry Potter fan
Well, I for one, would be surprised. Do you have video?
Does he get upset if we call him Barry?
Barry Obama (just in case he does)
The Obama supporters in Illinois were thrilled to try and make connections between Jack Ryan and George Ryan, regardless of the fact that there was no relationship between the two.
The name game was heavily used by the campaign prior to their scoring the opening of Ryan’s divorce file.
It’s interesting to conservatives from Illinois to now see the Obama campaign get hung up about his middle name.
It’s my understanding that he was known as Barry as a kid.
Is it really his middle name? He won’t show us his birth certificate. Maybe he’s Barack Robinette Obama – named after Joe Biden, and he took Barack to sound all thug.
Yes Salt, that’s true. How’s Illinois’ races going? Hope the Dr. flat lines Durbin’s political career.
Oops, I meant Hussein….
Would we be able to call him B.R.O?
Right here at this upscale prep school. You know, the kind that teaches algebra instead of junteenth…
Never Mind Salt, business as usual in Illinois.
You’d think that if Obama didn’t like his middle name all that much, he’d change it. At any rate, seems to me before it became all the rage to pretend everything anybody says about Obama is racism, that his middle name was used routinely – by those on the left. Personally, I don’t care if his name is Josip Broz Tito. It’s his policies and beliefs that I’m opposed to, not his name.
.
So, they’re headed to arrest almost all of the people at Huffpo and DemUnderground too.. right?
Unbelievable…….. the Democrats are just unbelievable.
John – I wouldn’t call him Barry simply because it normalizes him too much.
b. Hussein will do.
