Seattle hosts an Obama Youth Parade
They sing.
They dance.
And on Oct. 12, they march:
Grassroots “Kids for Obama Parade” (Organizing)
On Sunday, October 12, Washington State kids and families will parade around Seattle’s Green Lake. “Kids for Obama Parade” will illustrate one of Barack Obama’s core beliefs: Everyone’s voice counts. Join us as Obama’s youngest supporters rally their families and call for change, for a better America. At 2 pm, rain or shine, children and teens will express with words and drawings their hopes for the future of America on “wish flags” that will be mailed to Obama. The first 300 kids will be given a helium balloon, an expression of solidarity. At 3 pm, the “Kids for Obama Parade” will skip, toddle, stroller, rollerblade, pedal, and red-wagon clockwise around Green Lake in a cloud of red, white, and blue balloons and a garland of kid-made wish flags. How to prepare? If possible, bring home-made signs and wear red, white, and/or blue clothing. That goes for moms, dads, big brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, grandparents too. Please spread the word.

I think this is in lieu of the “Convicted Felons for Obama” parade that was canceled. It seems most of the participants couldn’t get a furlough to attend.

Also, when Obama made his big Berlin speech I saw a picture, from above and behind, that showed him on-stage with his arm up and out…like a certain past German leader, and the entire crowd of however many there actually were, doing it back to him. I can’t find it now. Can anyone else find it???

for better or worse there is nothing new in any of this … 1968: Youth for Nixon was comprised of children 10 – 16 years old … at 13 I headed the group for an entire Congressional District … on election night I called the Democratic candidate and thanked him for a good campaign as he went down to a defeat of landslide proportion – amazingly he answered the phone … there is nothing inherently evil on teaching civic responsibility and partisanship to children at an early age – it avoids the legions of apathetic twenty somethings all partisans have been fighting to energize

People, if there was ever a time to pay attention to the Congressional races, I’d say this is it. No matter who gets elected President, we need a “conservative” Congress to prevent the socialistic ideas of either Obama or McCain from becoming law and policy. We need a “conservative” Congress to prevent the nominations of life-time appointed Supreme Court judges who view the Constitution as a “living document” that can change at their behest. Bottom line: Can one imagine either Obama or McCain with a liberal Congress?

I’ve been wondering lately why we all sit by and literally watch what the other side is doing in its very aggressive, motivated and wide-spread signing up of new voters;
group ads on TV by private organizations appealing to people to sign up;
getting together teams of singing children and organizing parades;
going from door to door;
These people are showing that they really want to win and are making every effort to ensure they do.
What are we doing except for complaining? And what can we start doing now, in an honest way, to rally the support back to the right?
I’m not talking about you, Michelle, you certainly do your part!
A couple of weeks ago I was savaged on this blog by some liberal because I home school my kids. They were sure I was denying my children their rights of freedom of expression and choice. I guess it’s different if your teaching your children a liberal worldview.
