Michelle, it says video no longer available, got another link?
fixed. just refresh.
Now it’s working, thanks.
Remembered. RIP.
Many heartfelt thanks, Michelle, for being so consistent in your memorials for those we have lost.
Thank you so much Michelle. I am ashamed, but I had forgotten. Please God be with those lost and their families.
L
Yeah, what Belle said… reminders are not just good but needed.
All give some…some give all.
Good to know these things arent forgotten. Keep reminding people of things like this, so hopefully they will keep in mind whats going on, and whats at stake out there.
I wished they would’ve opened fire. God rest their brave souls.
Thank you Michelle, I didn’t realize that today was the anniversary. May God keep all of our brave men and women in uniform safe from harm. The cost of freedom is high, but the cost of appeasement is higher.
What have the commanders in chief, Clinton and Bush done abou tthis direct attack on America? Nothing!
This is what happens when Americans elect corrupt and timid presidents.
:salute:
May God the Father Almighty rest their Souls and comfort their families.
Just wait. Like the 1st bombing of the World Trade Center until 9/11, we will blindly go about our business until we get smacked in face.
In the Arabian gulf, we let the Iranian speedboats probe our ships perimeters, taunting us, and nothing ever happens. Instead of smacking the living crap out of idiots, we sit there with our ‘Rules of Engagements’ not wanting to create an international incident.
One day, another ship will get blown out of the water and it will be just another day of wondering why nobody ‘likes’ us.
At least we dont have these friggin VBSS idjits in charge of things over there. (Then again, maybe we do cry over our iPods when they are stolen by the Iranians)
Just wait, its only going to get worse under Obama. (but…but…but… if we just talk to them then they will like us)
This attack on a U.S. warship in a foreign port, was an act of war. Clinton did nothing but treat it as a criminal investigation. His lead agency was the FBI, not the U.S. Navy. As we learned on 9-11-01, that was a big mistake.
We must also remember that this attack, while tragic for all involved, produced a moment for America to show our resolve. This ship did not sink, thanks to expert design, construction, and a brave crew who saved her in her moment of peril. She was brought home, to our own Gulf Coast and repaired. Then returned to the Persian Gulf to continue her mission. The U.S.S. Cole was only temporarily knocked down. Now she’s back on duty, stronger than ever and a symbol of why you don’t mess with the USA.
God Bless the Cole’s lost crewmen, and God Bless America.
Let’s Roll.
RIP to our lost servicemen of the Cole.
I will never forget. We must fight against Obama so this never happens again.
From a PUMA:
I have just spent one and one half hours calling on the McCain Phone Bank. I called Ohio. There are many undecided. I have been honest with them about my research on Obama. It is making a difference. They just want to hear someone else confirm the fears that they have about Obama.
If you want to defeat Obama you must get up your courage and start calling NOW! If you just sit and don’t call you will be helping Obama win this election. Even if you make ten calls a day you will make a difference.
I don’t know how much more I can say. Phone calling is not my favorite activity but I take a deep breath and do it because I am dedicated to the best interests of this country. This is a time of crisis! I tell the people on the phone that I am a Democrat but I am supporting John McCain and I tell them why! I mention Bill Ayres and Pastor Wright. They need to hear this.
If you want to help turn this tide you MUST CALL!
ANOTHER SAID: This is true! I talked to someone who was Uninformed and they will vote for John Mccain now and she Thanked me also.
SIGN UP, PEOPLE … 10 calls a day:

Thanks for reminding us all. Let’s just hope McCain does the same today.
Thanks for this, too, Michelle. I do not think I saw any articles in my local paper, the Columbus Dispatch.
They did run a deplorable article the glossed over the Obama/Ayers relationship. No mention whatsoever of the fact that Obama and Ayers worked together on the Chicago Annenburg Challenge or the Woods Fund or Foundation. The writer did trot out the “Obama was 8 years old” canard in his attempt to downplay the inconvenient relationship that Obama and Ayers share.
The Dispatch web site is subscription, but if anyone has access, they can go here: http://www.dispatchpolitics.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2008/10/12/copy/askus12.ART_ART_10-12-08_A1_H0BIOHS.html?adsec=politics&sid=101
Remembrance is good, it really helps with the grieving. Personally I am of a mind that revenge helps with that. Revenge so terrible the “innocent civilians” will not let the bomb makers and such hang around. They can still hit you from the desert and the hinterlands but it is harder with less support.
We didn’t talk the Germans and Japanese into surrender. God Bless the families of our dead and Let’s Roll. (Brian72 said

ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND FIREARMS
Should be a convenience store
NOT a Government Agency
What bothers me the most about the tragic loss of life on the Cole is how unnecessary it was. We had just started fueling our ships in Aden. The feel good ideology of the Clinton administration drove them to it just to show the Yemenis we liked them! Prior to that time, we refueled at sea.
My daughter’s ship, the Hancock, was the first to fuel at Aden, I believe the Cole was the third. Seeing our weakness, they wasted no time in taking advantage of the situation.
Now we are on the cusp of electing another president who thinks we just need to show the bastards that we like them and all will be better. We’ll all sit around
thecampfireand sing Kumbaya together. Oops, can’t have a campfire, global warming and all. God help us!God bless those 17 lost souls and their families.
God rest their souls… one and all.
Never forget!
Let us make sure that their deaths were not in vain, and that Israel, the Mossad, and the eight Jews that control every financial transaction in the world never attack us again.

Thank you for the reminder Michelle. I also never forget those that were victims of the Khobar Towers attack either. I served with many in my Air Force career that wear the Purple Heart medal they earned from surviving that attack. May those that gave the ultimate sacrifice rest in peace and may God help to heal the hearts and souls of their families and loved ones.
Right after that happened, I think everyone over there who wasnt an American and was anywhere close to one of our assets, had his head dialed in through a scope for several days. If anything had gone sideways…..
But instead of whacking Iran for Khobar, what did we do? Remember all of those news stories about us blowing Theran apart in Aug ‘96? Yeh, me neither.
To absent comrades.

My bad, was thinking of Charlize too…
This is probably Barack Hussein Obama’s favorite naval “battle” of all time:
“Well done, my broth…, Ur, it was a terrible tragedy.”
This was one of several attacks that kicked off the Global War on Terror (whether we chose to fight or not). A book I’d recommend: “The Age of Sacred Terror” by Daniel Benjamin and Steven Simon.
Sick.
Thank you, Michelle.
May God bless the family and friends of those who were lost.
Thanks for the reminder MM. It is my personal belief that bin Laden has been hiding within a days drive of Aden.
Thank you Michelle for the posting…as usual your on top of all these memorable dates, not to be forgotten.
Bless these Heroes lost in service to their country, may their families find peace.
I will never forget
I will never submit
We always do a memorial service, albeit small, for remembrances such as this one for the Cole at my VFW….. we also do them for Anbar towers, etc…… but, it’s sad to report that most DO forget….. and it is this short sightedness and selective memory that will get Obama Osama elected. Thank you, Michelle and others here to keeping the memory alive. We will win or else.!
Another trash posting allowed to stand. Nothing but hate wrapped in a flag. Sicko……….
Yes you and BroBama are sick. Your messiah has made enough inflammatory remarks about our troops to fully justify Tommygun’s remark. You may not think so but then you really don’t matter. So being a Right Wing Gun Nut Loon let me close with

May God continue to bless the memory of our Shipmates who lost their lives (whether Yemen was a bad political idea or otherwise) for us. They gave all so we may continue to be free.
grumbles, see #36.

Clinton did basically nothing. He and his cabinet treated is as a felony at best, justifiable at worst.
Brobama’s favorite naval battle? He does it every night in the tub with plastic boats you’re saying?
I seem to recall seeing this slogan before.
sausage said: Nothing again!!!!
Strange
Be grateful that we sickos wrapped in flags are out here defending your “right” to make an ass out of yourself. As one who has had a few friends and family make a final journey “wrapped in a flag”, your ignorance offends me mightily. But still, I will continue to defend your “right” that you lets others sacrifice for so you can enjoy it.
BHO probably can find a way to blame it on our sailors. I mean, there they were trespassing in a country that has never did a thing to us, poses no threat, etc. Just like Iran.

Michelle, the link you gave for the memorial needs to be corrected. The correct URL is: http://www.cole.navy.mil/Site%20Pages/Memorial.aspx
The Heroes of the USS Cole only add the punctionation to the Navy’s unofficial Motto:
“Non sibi sed patriae!” (Not for self, but for country).
The Navy Hymn
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep,
Its own appointed limits keep.
Oh hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
Eternal Father, lend Thy grace To
those with wings who fly thro’ space,
Thro wind and storm, thro’ sun and rain,
Oh bring them safely home again.
Oh Father, hear an humble prayer,
For those in peril in the air!
Oh Trinity of love and pow’r,
Our brethren shield in danger’s hour,
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them where so e’er they go.
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea!
Lest We Forget!
I remember the USS Cole and salute my brothers in arms in the USN that lost their lives and those who were injured on the attack.
Oh, yes, I am former USAF, not USN – although I do have a Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Thanks for the reminder MM. You always keep our country’s best at heart. God Bless you for that. Never forgotten. May eternal rest be theirs.
I fear we will have many dark days ahead if we let the spineless liberals take control again.
They are remembered.
And for the sake of the sailors on our ships today, let’s hope that our ships establish clear rules that let them engage a perceived threat so that this sort of attack does not succeed again.
Hey Grumbles!
I agree with # 38! You know, that evil coservative clutching his gun and bible telling you to see # 36?
If not for those of us who have made sacrifices (mine was in the waters of Vietnam—some sacrificed their all– I lost good friends there!) You WOULDN’T have the right to be a stupid liberal jacka@#$!
Yep, aggression and hate all neatly wrapped in the red, white and blue. It’s pretty much the only language the far right understands it seems….
Its a beautiful thing isnt it? And the exact same goverment that creates the sub-prime mortgage financial mess pays them to do it too.
Ya gotta love teenagers who can put their hands on million dollar toys that can wipe out entire villages, all with your tax dollars
Love your neighbor just as you would love yourself…
Now that I think about it, I can go either way on this. We can look at the issue as:
) My tax dollars will pay for social causes and your tax dollars pay for Hellfire Missles… or
) You mind your causes with your dollars and I will fund missle development with mine.
I’m easy… because your causes arent going away AND my weapons systems arent going anywhere either. I do love a good compromise!
One last comment… it doesnt have to be wrapped or have a color…
Always remembered; never forgotten. I wonder if Obama wins, how much the terrorists will “test” us again. If I was a terrorist, I would certainly be encouraged with an American left-wing government, and set up attacks where I could. What’s the worse that could happen? Peace talks? Perhaps an under-the-table bribe, so the new President looks good, “winning” against me? Congress certainly wouldn’t allocate more money for military operations against me. They hate the military and need the money to fund all the pork programs, denied them over the years. Another “Cole” would be blamed on Cheney and Bush. That’s so they continue to look like “saviors of the nation” to the public.
Their sacrifice, courage and commitment is not forgotten. May they rest easy.
At the time of the attack on the Cole, I worked with a woman whose stepson was one of those killed. May they rest in peace, and may we never forget.
I remember very well what clinton didn’t do after the Cole incident.
A friend pointed me to this program which is good for downloading or saving YouTube/other videos to your PC or elsewhere:
http://www.vdownloader.es/
Great to use and block ominous censorship via disappearing YouTube videos!
I was running an errand up in the supply office on the USS Theodore Roosevelt (I was a nuke reactor operator) when I saw the news of the attack. Since I reported in 1998, I found it odd we didn’t man the 50 cal mounts when we went into foreign ports. A Russian ship once tried to ram us while we were bombing the Serbs, yet it still wasn’t pc enough to look threatening to foreigners until after the attack on the USS Cole.
I’ll never forget attending the memorial on pier 11 at Norfolk Naval when a parent of one of the victims told Bill Clinton to “never forget”. He looked sympathetic, and with a tear in his eye replied “we’ll get ‘em”. He didn’t and a little over a year later 9/11 happened.
