It’s not an “Obama flag.” It’s Ohio’s state flag.

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 13, 2008 10:25 PM

I received several e-mails today from readers complaining about Barack Obama’s backdrop in Toledo today. Apparently, some talk show hosts have also gone ballistic over what they think is an “Obama flag:”

Relax, folks.

That’s not an “Obama flag.”

It’s the state flag of Ohio:

I surely can’t. Maybe it’s just me, but really the only place you’ll see our state flag on display is downtown at the statehouse or in a 6th grade Ohio History class. Aside from that, unless you’re down in Chillicothe or a place where people still reflect somewhat daily on the history of the state, you’re really not going to see our state flag out in public (and if you do, it’s small and looks like a baseball pennant, so its easily dismissible).

I saw a commercial for it. It featured kids asking questions that the candidates would presumably answer. And of course it’s hosted by “the fair and balanced” Linda Ellerbee.

The questions were one democrat talking point after another.

Since the 40% who do not pay taxes get money from the government it is not a tax rebate; it is welfare.

Liberal semantics at work. Kind of like when something does not INCREASE as much as you want, the lesser increase is still a “cut.”

The report’s comment on “no danger” is mind bogling in its stupidity. it totally flunks the Common Sense Test. This thing sounds as accurate as the 9/11 report. Spare me.

It’s NOT a wasted vote. McCain has not earned my vote, in fact, he’s totally turned me off in his choice of the bullying, amateur Palin (who DID abuse power, despite her lies). He turned me off with his careless and vile attacks on Obama. And he’s turned me off with his erratic behavior and angry temperament. He is NOT a steady hand on the tiller. And his mortgage proposal is just STUPID.

Obama hasn’t earned my vote because I find him too liberal. Though at this point, the usual smears against liberals are ALL applicable to conservatives these days (they may not tax to the same extent, but they spend astronomically).

The last liberal president balanced the budget. No Republican in my lifetime has done that. The fact do not match the fear I see here on this blog.

Palin violated Alaska state law and abused power. Were she a Democrat, this blog would be all over her for that abuse. Her politics may agree with mine, but she’s unfit to serve this great nation. McCain could have and should have chosen better. He’s unfit for the highest office in the land.

My vote will NOT be wasted.

That’s it? ACORN and their voter fraud, Ayers, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac all have ties to The One who we’ve been waiting for and no mention of this stuff. Just rail against Palin for firing a dude who should have been fired and would have been under any other circumstances… please.

    It’s only a non-issue because it’s about your candidate.

The facts are right there, in the report, but they don’t matter. It’s Sarah. Her means justify her ends. She abused power, but it’s okay, she was protecting her family. What, were there no LEGAL ways to do that? Like slap a restraining order on the guy? File PUBLIC complaints about the trooper? Instead, unelected “first dude” Todd Palin went after the trooper, wielding the power of his wife’s office. It’s right there in front of your face, but you refuse to see it.

But for Sen. Obama, anything goes. No degree of association is too trivial to indict him. His means do not justify his ends.

Do you see how contradictory that reasoning is?

BOTH candidates are hurt by their association with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. So you can’t knock Obama for his connections without doing the same of McCain.

I have read DOZENS of Rules of Engagement in my time. Some are a couple sheets of paper. Some are as thick as a Chicago phone directory.

However, after laying out only a few rules or hundreds of rules, the document always ends with the following statement, “The right of self-defense is never denied.”

In the words of the immortal James T. Kirk, Captain U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701, “BLAST REGULATIONS.”

There are THOUSANDS of dead women and family members caused by “following the process.”

Trop, you have obviously never seen evil, never had a family member in danger, and never been shot at. Palin’s actions took weapons away from a man who threatened her sister, threatened her father with death and Tasered her 10 year old niece, when some bureaucrat refused to do so.

Ask yourself this question. What are the consequences of doing nothing and being wrong versus what are the consequences of doing something and being wrong in this instance.

Be thankful you have never faced that situation.
