BHO’s moronomics includes cutting capital gains taxes on small businesses.
I have a small business. The only way I can realize a capital gain is by NOT re-investing the proceeds from the sale of a depreciated capital assets such as investments in machines, tools, furniture, etc.
For most small businesses, reporting a capital gain means that you are … DOWN SIZING! So Barry’s plan encourages businesses to get …. SMALLER!
What an idiot!
Spread the wealth around? That’s only going to spread the poverty around.
Oh wait, I just realized another senario where a small business would benefit from BHO’s capital gain tax cut – cash out on ALL of your investments on capital assets and then … MOVE TO MEXICO! Great incentive Barry!
Why would I ever want to grow my business? Will Obama force me to grow it so I can pay more taxes?

Oh. I see. Sry MDT. I didn’t realize you were quoting a comment from the Fox site. Therefore, allow me to redirect my vile detest for the commenter from the Fox News site that posted that.
What people don’t seem to get is that a working couple that went into debt to pay for college and make about $125K each… yes.. a good salary.. but those that make that in Obama’s world are to be taxed like they were Warren Buffet.
Figure in a mortgage, out of control property taxes, saving for 2 kids college costs and everything else.. and wealthy is not how I’d describe that couple these days. Well off.. sure. But they aren’t rich. In fact, after Obama’s tax plan, they aren’t far away from someone making $42K a year that pays no taxes and would qualify for Obama-Welfare checks.
Since this can be interpreted two ways, I’ll be charitable and assume you’re coming down on the side of the individual to retain his/her wealth and possessions.
I’m fine with sharing. I donate my time, talent, and treasure to causes I think are worthy.
However, I am not compelled by the government to do so. I do it because I choose to.
In a free nation, that should be my choice and my right.
There comes a time when “charity” crosses the line between being helpful and enables bad behavior. In America, everyone has opportunity to be successful.
If we’ve learned nothing from the current financial crisis, it’s that those who are responsible often don’t find themselves in trouble. But they’re punished and forced to care for those who don’t.
Next step? Your 401(k).
Isn’t it funny how we never shared grades, though? So I guess we got to keep the fruits of our labors.
The selfish little jerks were the ones that wanted to control things and only let their friends play with them. Sounds kind of socialist, dontcha think?

Yeah, so if you own a business like that plumber… Obama is going to tax the life out of your business so your hard work and long days will be spent can get a 60″ Plasma TV.
And if you WORK for a small business owner like an HVAC shop, or Electrician, you are going to be screwed royally. You’ll be lucky to have a job after Obama gets done raping small business.
He SAYS he won’t, but his tax plan says otherwise. And that’s before he pays for any of the spending orgy he would be orchestrating. Want to know where that money is going to come from? Answer: Look at the balance in your business and personal checking account. Kiss that goodbye.
Anyone who pulls the lever for Obama has to be certifiably insane. McCain’s got issues, but at least he won’t nuke our economy.

Schools give pretests and then make the real test harder for kids that do well, and easier for kids that do poorly. Then only count the second test for their marking period grade.

mdt – Actually it will be 54.9% FEDERAL tax rate under Obama (see Fleeced by Dick Morris, p23). Add state and local taxes and THE RICH(?) will be paying over two thirds of their adjusted gross income to gov. taxes.
Let’s say I make a million a year. That would be $549,000 to the feds and another $100,000 or so to state and local tax. That leaves me about $350,000 of my million to live on. Most people like you would say that’s plenty, like its your business to decide how much I get to keep. But here’s what you don’t consider. To make that much we took the risk of having a small family business. We worked hard to build that business to where it is now. But under more onerous taxes we will not be able to afford as many employees as we do now, or buy as much equiptment, health care, etc.
When small business (which is most of the business in the US) cannot afford more employees and equiptment THE ECONOMY GRINDS TO A HALT!
WHERE THE HECK DO YOU THINK GROWTH COMES FROM?!

I know it won’t come as a surprise to anyone that reads this blog, but, on the Bay Area News, various people were interviewed about their reaction to the bank crisis and bailaout. Most were worried about their futures and upset that underperforming CEO’s were being rewarded with millions. One person interviewed yelled at the cameraman that “the U.S. need to become a socialist country.” Probably the most honest person I’ve heard on the news recently. At least I know where he stands. I’ve had enough of socialists and the gimmee, gimmee, gimmee crowd.

In my 63 years of life on this planet I have never seen the Democrat goals so openly expressed. Redistribution of wealth is no longer a secret goal, but discussed by everyone in the open. Why are people who are actually paying taxes buying it? This recent meltdown is the result of the workers trying to support the rest with low cost homes that they could not afford and now,may not have to pay for. Have we reached the tipping point? Are there more of them than us? Wake up America!!!!

I think we are at the tipping point. The dems have masterfully set a trap for the stupid party who walked right into it. The dems have been changing the terms of the debates for years using PC as their weapons. We used to debate how much, if any, gov’t intervention in free markets is necessary. Now we debate the degree to which the gov’t should mange the economy. We used to debate the appropriate levels immigration that add value to America. Now we debate to what degree should we give legal status (citizenship or z visas) to illegal aliens here. We used to debate and discuss limited entitlement programs. Now we openly discuss welath reditribution. Competition squelched for fairness. And on and on.
