So what if wealth is redistributed? Why is it a top few are super rich and the rest of us have to struggle. I would LOVE to see those making more then $250,000 a year taxed at 50%. Does that sound high? WAKE UP people! These rich are so rich that even if you took 90% they would still be super rich! I am so sick and tired of the rich and big business screwing the little guy. If Obama’s plan announced today is actualized, particularly the 401k withdrawal thing as it stands, the stock market is history. The sell-off we’ve seen in the last week or so is but a trickle in comparison, imo.

This is yet another perfect target for McCain to pounce on: “Spread the wealth around, Senator Obama? When have YOU ever spread YOUR wealth around? You and your wife have horded all your money for yourselves. You give almost nothing to charity. You can’t even bother to lift a finger to help your own brother living in a dirt-floor hut. And here you are asking the American people to spread THEIR hard-earned money around? What gives you that right? Me, I don’t want to tell people what to do with their money. I want people to get to keep more of their own money, so they can make their own decisions.”
But unfortunately, I’m not holding my breath. McCain will likely continue Tinkerbell-ing around with Obama rather than bringing the full load.
The Obama fans could be told his best friend in college was a serial killer, and that his hobby (as a kid) was knocking old people out of wheelchairs and they would still think he was the messiah.
Most of the public would not recogize socialism or Marxism as they were not taught the subject in history classes in public schools. Professors like Bill Ayers will make sure they will get a different version in college.
It falls on you all to educate them before the next three weeks.
Atlas Shrugged pretty much address the psychology of the politics of unearned wealth, not that I expect Obama to have ever read that book. Or McCain either [sigh] But the answer is basically this:
I’m supposed to think “Cool! Now I get a shot at Bill Gates’s (or my neighbor’s) money. Thank you Obama!”
The problem is that anyone who has less than me, now thinks he has a shot at my wealth.
And anyone who has less then them now has a shot at . . .
And so it goes, right down to the people who have nothing and will stop at nothing to make sure everyone else is in the same impoverished situation.
The Republicans could take this and run very hard with it. But who here thinks they will?
Based on recent history, McCain won’t touch it. Shame.

Between this and the 90 day holiday for those that refuse to or can’t pay their mortgages we are less than impressed with the anointed one and his proposed policies. Good thing I spent the beautiful fall afternoon sighting in my new 30.06, should the anointed one win we will probably have to rely on it to put meat on the table. I am sure his policies will destroy the economy to the point the supply chain may have trouble continuing to deliver the basic necessities of a stable economy. You noticed there is no comment about rewarding the plumber’s incentive or anything close to that. It is only that we must ’spread the wealth around’. We are going to give to the less fortunate, no matter that they may not make good choices or work as hard, we must take from you and give it to them. Which is socialism pure and simple. That clip sums up Osama in a nut shell and should be enough to convince most Americans of his intentions. Sadly, people are too blinded by the MSM glorification of the ‘One’ to listen to the man’s own words. McCain should run ads which only use Obama quotes and nothing else to show who and what Obama really is.

I spent four years working a special duty joint service assignment working the INF/START Treaties with arms control inspectors from the former Soviet Union. I learned a lot by just watching some of the Russian Inspectors on their visit the land of the Big Wal-Mart. I saw one guy when we went into the new Base Exchange (a military general goods store for the civilians) at Travis AFB and I thought the poor guy was going to have a stroke. He had just figured out he had been lied to all his life about how bad conditions were in the western world. Kind of the way I feel now that our Congress has sold all of us our children and children’s children into indentured servitude to bailout Wall Street and the credit industry. The anointed one is only going to make things worse if he gets to inact his policies should he win this thing.

With few exceptions, the folks who are “behind” are often there of their own volition. In America, everyone has equal opportunity to be successful. Often, they choose not to break the cycle of poverty. I see it all the time in Milwaukee – getting good grades and finishing school is considered “acting white” and a disgrace.
Bad things happen. People lose jobs, get sick, etc. But – by and large – the attitude of the unwealthy in this nation is “I don’t have to work…I’m entitled to everything.”
Likewise, very few people are born into wealth. Many work very hard to earn what they have.
So a few questions:
1) IF the government is going to take away from the wealthy and give to the poor – what incentive do I have to work to be wealthy?
2) What incentive do the poor have to take initiative to change their lifestyle?
3) Why should the government be involved in “wealth redistribution” at all?

It looks like it is taking revenue away from the banks. Am I wrong?
It is so ironic that we as a people have spent so much in blood and treasure to give so many others overseas a chance at freedom only to sit back and bleat like sheep as our freedom is taken from us… My only source of hope comes from the fact that this vile, evil conspiracy is not supported by our military & by it’s very nature can never be… it seems to me that it may well be time to bring our troops home. Not because the war is over, but because they are needed here.
It is simply a matter of priorities… the socialists have become a bigger threat than the jihadists, but don’t doubt for a moment that they don’t work together.

Odd how Obama didn’t hand his own wallet over to the plumber so he could spread Obama’s wealth around.
His “tax cuts” add about 500 billion dollars in “refundable tax credits”. If anyone doesn’t know, “refundable” means you get money even if you paid no tax, i.e., it’s welfare. If you question him he will probably say, they paid other taxes, even though they paid no federal income tax, so this is a tax cut for those taxes.”
Another giant leap into Socialism.
It like the “earned income tax credit” only greatly expanded.

When you tax a business, the charge gets thrown into the cost of product or service, so it falls back on the consumer in a price increase. The business doesn’t really care about higher taxes.
You sir, sound like a loser, whining abut the success of hardworking, industrious, focussed individuals who make it work. The American dream is finding success, both financially and in self fulfillment, by taking advantage of all the possibilities this country offers. It requires a commitment to education, perseverance, frugality, hard work and focus. You apparently have none of these attributes and think you deserve a handout from all of those who do.
Your comment says it all about you and your ilk. Go get in line for your food stamps and public assistance money. Have you ever thought of working, saving and investing? If not in yourself, at least in real estate or the market?

EVERYONE is living the dream here in America. Those who are still at the bottom either choose to stay there or are being kept there by the Democrat Party or thuggish grievancemongers or gang members.
That comes very close to stating the crux of the problem. If Hopenchange really thinks that he’s going to tax his way to prosperity solely on the backs of “The Rich,” then he’s in for a rude awakening:
1. A lot of “The Rich” are wealthy enough to hire Wall Street accounting firms and Park Avenue tax lawyers who, by the time they’re done, will practically have the IRS owing their clients money. They’re not going to just hold still to be bled, Joe Biden’s notions of “patriotism” notwithstanding.
2. Laffer curve, anyone? I know it makes libs’ heads explode, but the Bush tax cuts increased tax revenues; it follows that tax increases will decrease revenues.
3. So, you get “The Rich” hiding their money, coupled with decreasing tax revenues from increasing tax rates. And you know what that leaves?
That’s right: The Middle Class. We who can’t afford the hot-shot accountants and tax lawyers who can gopher our wealth away in the Cayman Islands. Nowhere to run; no place to hide.
That’s how Bill Clinton promised a “middle class tax cut” while running for election in 1992, but in 1993 gave the middle class their biggest tax increase in history.
And Hopenchange is going to do the same damn thing.

We have several friends who have moved here form the old USSR. Obama truly scares them. They thought they got away from that government. As naturalized citizens we couldn’t ask for stronger constitutionalist.
The high school dropout gets a job at $10 per hour and pays 10% tax. I spend $30 thousand to go to college and I get a job at $20 per hour and pay a 30% tax
Rate, Tax, Realized Amt
Dropout $10, $1, $9
Me $20, $6, $14
Diff $10, $5, $5
It will take me 3-4 years to pay back my college loan for that extra $5 and another 15 years to make up the $75,000, ($9 per hour for 4 years), I didn’t get for the 4 years I was going to college.
Thats 18-19 years for me to get to the same place as the high school dropout. Where is my incentive to do something good with my life instead of just being a dropout?
Why does government think they need to step in and adjust my negotiated salary. I got more because I earned it by dedication, risk , and hard work. Oh, because salary redistribution buys votes from the dropouts. Votes keep people in power.
