My guess is that TOS can hate the country without being thrown in jail or tortured. TOS wouldn’t dare hate China or Russia if TOS lived there.
Read an excellent article on this. What you wrote is true, because there is a HUGE difference between wealth and income. The wage earners have INCOME and are taxed at the 39% and higher rates. The WEALTHY earn money off capital gains and are taxed at 15%.
So if you have earned your wealth, you can be the righteous one, tax the masses income, because you are not impacted. The old shell game.

Actually, I’m personally very happy about that (it means that things are under control) and that considering she has probably more security issues in her state than any other state in the country — let’s not forget the Trans Alaska Pipeline that transports almost 20% of the US Domestic oil to the lower 48. Not to mention oil being a very major security issue for the US right now.

And let’s not forget she got elected and also had the highest approval ratings in the country as a governor (80%). More than what I can say for Granholm or other loser governors in the country.

I thought erroneously a while back that BHO’s Hawaii birth certificate had been produced.
However, I recently realized that the fuzzy photocopy that I’d seen is but the recording of (presumably) his birth…not an actual birth certificate.
There’s an interesting item at Atlas Shrugs about BHO’s grandmother in Kenya; about her strongly claiming that BHO was in fact born in Kenya!
I don’t know what the actual facts are.
However, the ferocity of the socialists’ refusal to produce a copy of BHO’s birth certificate, like most everything about the socialists, doesn’t pass the smell test.
And, that same ferocity also suggests that the question of BHO’s country of birth, as indicated on an actual birth certificate, is the socialists’ fatal weakness in this campaign.

I heard the interview with Joe the Plumber on Fox and wondered why Joe didn’t tell Obama that he is helping to distribute wealth around by hiring workers and giving them a paycheck. If he taxes him as he claims he will, he’ll have to lay one or two off in order to cover the increased taxes.
Obama would prefer he just pay more taxes and have the checks sent directly to those who don’t want to work.
RED STATE SKEPTIC IS WRONG!!! Dems want 39.6% (not 39%) AND to raise the cap on FICA to 12.4% AND dont forget the 2.9% Medicare tax, making the GRAND TOTAL 54.9% FEDERAL tax on our income.
Dont forget state and local, so all income tax will be about two thirds/66%. Is that enough for you?
And dont forget Obama wants to raise capital gains tax too. All of the above is a presription for a worse economy than we already have.

What does privacy have to do with abortion?
One part of the Constitution is always totally ignored. The 10th amendment. That was put in because people feared the “to promote the general welfare” clause of the Preamble. Without the amendment, the national government could pretty much do as it liked…which, by ignoring this law, it does anyway now. I have always had a problem though, with the 14th amendment. It was never properly and constitutionally ratified by the states, at the time. Funny thing about that….the liberals love it, though it was pushed through by a radical republican congress unconstitutionally.
TOS – Perhaps a more complete explanation than your “Republican Taft” is in order. In 1894 the DEMS passed the Wilson-Gorman Act, the first peace time income tax.
And as you correctly stated, the 16th ammendment was passed in 1913 by both parties/houses and ratified by the correct number of states. So the history of taxes in this country has supporters on both sides of the aisle. However, this election is what I care about and there is a stark contrast between the candidates’ tax plans. I believe the that Obama tax plan is a recipie for a worse economy than we have now.
There are simple questions for Barack Obama that his sycophants in the liberal media will never ask him: 1) Senator Obama, You have said that there should be clawbacks for banking executives who mislead investors and the general public. Given how strongly you feel about this, do you favor action by the government to make sure that Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson return some of the hundreds of millions they took from FANNIE MAE (and carefully concealed from the public)?
Do you feel that Jim Johnson, who headed your VP selection search, deserved the hundreds of millions he got from FANNIE MAE? Do you think that your friend Jim Johnson was correct to use his influence to lobby against any limitations on FANNIE MAE and FREDDIE MAC from buying rotten subprime mortgages? Do you think your former client ACORN was correct to have protests at the offices of banks who did not wish to participate in subprime mortgages and “stated income” mortgages?

Folks – on the birth certificate matter – I honestly don’t care if he produces a Hawaii birth certificate. I think the matter addressed in “natural born” is not so much as the exact place but rather allegiance (as in no multiple allegiances). Obama seems pretty clearly to have had multiple national allegiances which would indicate to me lack of eligibility to POTUS. (Of course, I’m not a constitutional scholar so my opinion in this is worth exactly zero).

Obama is one interesting piece of work when it comes to loyalties. His father grew up in Kenya when it was a British Colony…anyother interesting twist to Barack’s comment about bringing an Empire to its knees.
Barack has multiple family members who are Muslims, and he helped one of them run for office in Kenya. Barack lived in and studied the Koran in the world’s most populous Muslim nation (Indonesia). Obama has voluntarily confessed with his mouth the Islamic call to prayer (with a first-rate accent), but he has yet to voluntarily confess with his mouth, “Jesus is Lord“.
Barack’s network of associates consistently reveals hard-core Communists, Domestic Terrorists, convicted felons, etc.
Everything about this man and what he says screams that he wants to bring this country to its knees. He wants to be the world’s Robin Hood. Take a good look at his Communist Global Poverty Act. It’s not just “spreading the wealth” within this country…it’s “spreading the wealth” around the world.
Yes, that really is what he wants.

I know we get a lot of hot headed comments on these posts, but I want to share with you something that is REALLY bothering me.
If this election is close and it comes down to a state or two and later we find out that there was massive voter fraud in the deciding state(s), so much it could not ever be sorted out, then what?
Here is my dilema. I believe in the rule of law, BUT I also took an oath, for life, to “support protect and defend the Constitution of the U.S.”
The illegal theft of a Presidential election is a direct assault on the Constituion. I am not sure I can stand idly by at that point. I am not threatening anything at this point. I am saying the voices of over a million graves is reminding me I have to “keep the faith.”
The people instigating this fraud have no clue what the damage is that they may be causing.
I am troubled by this prospect and what may be required very much. Let’s pray it does not come to that.

Based on GE and Walmart having to pay a couple of points over LIBOR [b]and[/b] collateralize their overnight and short term loans, and the size of the bailout and budget deficit, the federal government will crash, be unable to sell new debt, unless they collateralize government notes with a fixed quantity of Ft Knox gold.
No idea if that is correct or not, but that is what my boss thinks. He is out of the market completely, except for gold mining shares. He was about a $50,000 a year engineer for an oil company in West Texas 11 years ago, he is worth over $15 million now, so he may know what he is talking about.
