Like I said last week: When it rains, it pours. We’re drowning in a flash flood of ACORN voter fraud horror stories. Barack Obama and his followers remain in denial. How many thousands of bogus applications do they need to see before they put down their race card and acknowledge this massive illegal racket?

I read an article over at American Thinker which detailed what McCain ought to do to win. Unfortunately, we know all to well what McCain is going to do and thus far it hasn’t been a pretty sight.

Any scheme where you pay people based on how many registrations they can get is going to be a train wreck like this. But this is registration fraud, not voter fraud. There is very little, any, evidence that this will lead to voter fraud on election day. What you will have is thousands of “registered voters” who will not vote, because they don’t exist.
Might be another “above my paygrade” moment. I’d pay to see it.

I guess I don’t understand the difficulty here:
1. ACORN is actively breaking and encouraging others to break federal and state election laws.
2. The Attorney General and the Justice Department enforce federal laws.
3. The Attorney General and the Justice Department should indict ACORN and give them a cease and desist order of all voter registration activities.
4. State election officials should require identification and proof of residence upon voting/registering to vote.

The danger with so many fraudulent registrations is that it overwhelms the election boards responsible for verifying them. When every registration can’t be checked because of time constraints, it opens the door wide for actual vote fraud on election day.

Laura Ingraham had a great point this morning. She called this “predatory voter registration”. I guess, according to Obama, preying on people for mortgages is racist, but preying on them for votes isn’t.
The racist card, over any comment or question of Obama’s past, should not be the winning ace in this game.

I suspect Obama knows exactly what’s going on with Acorn and is not in denial, but acting right on schedule with well-planned avoidance which had its start in the home of Bill Ayers.

“Common sense” would indicate to me that ANY registration brought by a paid person should be considered suspect. The incentive should be on the part of the voter – not some paid 3rd party who may or may not have an agenda. (Though I’d suggest there obviously is an agenda bigger than just getting a paycheck)

There are more of these people out there than you even want to know. It is a “collective” dumbing down of America and a deadening of conscience that has been going on for a long time. Lying, cheating, immorality…you name it. This kind of culture has been promoted by all forms of the media (movies, TV, newspapers, video games, comic books, et al) right under our noses. We were helpless to prevent it. And now, we are dealing with the results. People who don’t care about ethics or morals…just “in your face” and do whatever is necessary to win. I just thank God that there are some of us left to try and turn this around.
I don’t get it. If ACORN is a non profit, why are they allowed to campaign for a politician? My tax dollars are helping these goons elect a socialist and my government, up until now has given them millions if not billions of our tax dollars to aid them.
I think you are naive about that. There is only one purpose to fraudulent registration – fraudulent voting. If there are multiple registrations, one can go vote at multiple places using any/all of the “suspect” names. Heck – why not just vote multiple times at the same place using all the different names. It’s bigger than “just a paycheck”.
This is what happens when moral relativism becomes the ethical system of the land. One can say or do whatever he wishes solely because he can rationalize it to himself, despite any other influence. This goes back to that whole cultural hegemony idea from Antonio Gramsci.
People at ACORN have the view that things here in the States are bad. The only answer is Obama. Therefore, Obama needs to get elected, no matter the cost or what rules get broken. That is the way they think. There is no reasoning with people like this. They work from a different ethical foundation and have a different hierarchy of values. But under the accepted paradigm of moral relativism, they can get away with it because no one has the moral authority any more to question them on it.

Okay, I kow this isn’t related to Acorn, but it does relate to voting issues:
I was at the public library yesterday in downtown Iowa City and as I walked in I noticed large (maybe a 1 foot diameter) voteforchange.com stickers on all the doors, in the lobby, down the hallways, etc. I assume that some outsider put them up, but when I asked the gentlemen at the checkout about them, he kind of shrugged and clearly did not care.
So today I made some calls. At the county auditor’s office they said it public properties are allowed to put up any campaign material they want. It was only after I pushed the issue that they let me know that there is early voting at that library tomorrow and maybe it could be a problem to have campaign stickers up. The website is for early registraion, but it is clearly an Obama site. The man with whom I spoke agreed to call the library about it, but he did so with an exasperated sigh. I would think with all the scandal there has been about early voting, he would be a little bit concerned. But no.
Sorry for going off topic, I just had to complain about this.
The one brief mention of this that I’ve seen in the mainstream media (i.e., the AP) referred to ACORN as a “non-partisan” organization.
If they’re non-partisan, then I’m the Queen of England.
Imagine if ACORN was fraudulently signing up REPUBLICAN voters, the mainstream media like Couric, etc., would be hyperventilating about this 24/7. The NYT’s would run out of paper, and their servers would crash.
That is exactly right. If McCain does not see a problem with ACORN, which is a perfect microcosm of everything that I fear in an Obama presidency, then maybe he would not be much better than Obama.
What I want to see is after ACORN takes someone’s registration, how they handle it if the person says they are for McCain.
ACORN is the boxcutter of the 2008 election.
Just as the airport screeners let box cutters through on 9/11 (who would have guessed what a box cutter could do?), McCain has had tangential alliances with ACORN, not understanding their true agenda. He can say that he, like all of us, are only now becoming aware of the cancer that is ACORN, and will make sure that their illegal deeds, from voter irregularities to nearly bringing down our whole freakin’ economy with bad house loans, is exposed, punished and stopped.
Let us work so that the ACORN boxcutter brings down the Obama campaign, not McCain. McCain is a pain in the butt, but he’s a good man. I think Obama is part of something very big and very bad.

This is a carefully calculated attempt to overwhelm the system with so many bad registrations that there isn’t enough manpower to sort through them all before the election, thereby allowing the fraudulent voting to proceed. I listened to an ACORN spokeswoman on FOX news recently, being grilled by Megan Kelly, and she was doing her best to parse it into a regristration issue not a voting issue. That only works up to a point. What they have managed to do is to so flood the system that now nobody knows how much fraud is actually going to take place on election day. They overwhelmed the agencies whose job it is to oversee elections at the county and state level, thereby crippling any efforts at serious oversight. What I do find ironic is that most of this massive registration farud is occuring in “blue” counties, enabled by Democrat election officials, so much so that they have in effect given the Republicans far more ammunition to challenge election results then the Dems have.
But as they say in Russia–It isn’t who cast the vote that counts, it is who counts the vote.
They absolutely DO NOT have the right to campaign for politicians. I believe that it would be up to the IRS to go after their tax-exempt status. Why this isn’t happening is a part of the whole Gearge Bush “I want to buddy up with the Dems while the crucify me” mystery. A bigger question is : why do we still fund them with our tax dollars? Haven’t we reached a point with ACORN where our Congressman can stand up proudly and say:” I voted to cut off funding to ACORN?”

McCain needs to drive home the fact that ACORN is the embodiment of Community Organizers and they are criminals and Obama was in, and remains thoroughly entrenched with, this group. Obama funded them with $800 for Get Out the Vote.. He’s needs to turn around to Obama, look right at him, and say..
“Your Get Out the Vote project is really raking in some new voters. Including Mickey Mouse.”
Then he needs to not allow Obama to simply dump the blame on individuals getting signatures to meet quotas. Because that’s not whats happening. They are creating fake registrations so they cane direct people to the polls and give them these registered fake names to use and vote for Obama in these battleground states. That’s their plan to steal the election.
Then he needs to drive a stake into Obama’s campaign by hammering Obama’s statement of confiscating that plumbers small business income only to redistribute the guys cash to whomever Obama see’s fit to give it to.

“Based on the recent numerous reports of voter registration fraud, how will you ensure that only qualified people are voting and they are only voting once?”

Well, I do live in the reality-based community and, like Sarah Palin, I read ‘all of the newspapers and magazines’. But there’s pretty much one consistent voice among them. And they all say that Obama is pulling waaaay ahead.

I was at the DMV the other day on the last day to register to vote. It was in a pretty liberal college town so the quality of the ‘next generation’ representatives was pretty sketchy.
One kid that showed up was pretty much an a$$ to the staff, so I didnt have anything else to do but eavesdrop on him and his girlfriend. They were clueless about the voting process but as a “joke” they were going to affiliate with a 3rd party candidate so that that party would think it had more supporters than what they really did.
Oh well, at least they didnt mention Obama the whole time they were filling out their forms.
