Most American textbooks are worthless. Even when I was in school back in the ’80s, the only classes I took that actually bothered with the textbooks were the math classes.
The kiddies might also get extra credit if they take their Obama textbooks on their lesbian wedding/field trips to San Fran.

My friend is a conservative and his kid in in 6th or 7th grade. The kid’s history or social studies teacher, is having them follow politics. The kids must clip out and discuss articles and political blogs. Here are the restrictions: No Malkin, no Politico, no Heritage Foundation, no FOX, no NY Post, and no Wall Street Journal.
Appropriate source: Huffpo, CNN, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, NY Times, Washington Post, etc.

The whole concept of “E Pluribus Unum” was that unity can exist among diversity. That, of course, is when “diversity” meant something other than embracing and accepting homosexuality.
We have seen over and over again how the Obama campaign and its “royal loyal subjects” do anything but promote unity. They are a single-minded purposeful machine of hate, aimed at destroying anything that opposes its objective, which is the elevation of this man that allows himself to be called, “The Messiah”, by the likes of Louis Farrakhan.

What is more important, a grade or having your child learn?
The teacher, the principal and the school board all need to be PUBLICALLY confronted with this. The teacher needs to be informed that his/her grading system will be under a mcroscope with legal action to follow if it is not by the book.

Have your friend’s child get updates from the Independent Women’s Forum. Any negative comments from the teacher (male or female) can be answered with “Don’t you think women should have an independent voice in politics, too?”

Take the grade of F. It will be a badge of honor.
If Dad is afraid speaking out will affect his kids grade then what is he teaching his kid about standing up for what is right and wrong? …
Sorry if I offend someone related to this Dad … but … Dad needs to be in that teacher’s face as well as the faces of the school Principal, the Superintendent of the schools district, and the entire school board … period …
This is not a good example of teaching kids how to stand up for themselves and to stand up to those that would oppress their rights as Americans …

Give me a bloody break. It doesn’t take a village to indoctrinate your children. All it takes is public education forcing your children to major in social engineering whether you like it or not. What an absolute load!
Folks, find all the old history books and textbooks from the 50’s that you can, buy them and hoard them. History is being rewritten and soon there will be nothing of truth left. We need to be preserve the past at all costs! And, we need to fight the public school system any time this kind of atrocity is brought to light. If a child’s grades are affected, the lesson learned by that child will be a good one. Fight for the truth, even if it hurts.

That just teaches the child to think that they can only get what they need by submitting to whoever is in power. Good grades in middle school mean nothing, especially when that school does not provide good learning. The child can learn for real at home, and if, at school, political motivations result in his receiving bad grades that don’t reflect his true intellect, then it’s proof that he thinks critically. That will get him farther in life than honors from ANY public school.
In fairness, I was just supplying food for thought. I wasn’t going here.

I’ve told my friend to look for reasonable stories like the Ayers connection on CNN. Look at the full list of approved and not approved. Search for subjects among the approved like:Ayers, ACORN, spending etc.,
If the teacher has a problem then you call FOUL. If he adds more restrictions or stifles debate call FOUL.
My friend is going to try this first.
I told him to try and beat the liberal at his own game first. Then he has proof of bias.
Before everyone gets all riled up, lets look at what is actually in the book.
It’s in a section on oratory and great speeches–regardless of one’s feelings on Obama’s politics, it is pretty widely accepted that his 2004 speech would be considered a great speech.
Further, ‘Out of Many, One’ was the title of the speech–not something the publishers slapped onto the section in support of Obama.
Are the teachers wearing blue when they teach this section of the text?

Speeches are not literature. Speeches are for public speaking class, debate class, even drama club I would grant.
Literature used to be a rather lofty subject of prose and poetry by the greats.

Today’s text books have about a page for the entire Civil War! Since Johnny can’t read, the books have lots of pictures.
What will the schools do when enrollment drops because there’s no point to having any children exposed to their pathetic curriculum.

What’s funny/sad…a few years ago, in our local district, due to an accident, the qualified math teacher (as in actually understood math) was unable to teach. With graduate degrees in engineering, I offered to volunteer until they could find a replacement. I thought I could at least help the kids learn. I was told that since I didn’t have a teaching certificate (never mind that I’d been a teaching assistant when I as a grad student), I could not teach. So the school district had a history teacher teaching the a/p math class. Of course, most of the students knew more than the teacher. SAD

And for field trip using that textbook to gather “observable evidence” – I highly recommend a trip to the Creation Museum just across the river from Cincinnati. They’ll go further than just the creation part…they’ll address things like “currently observable processes” can not account for the Grand Canyon and why the rocks at Mt. St. Helens now date at 50,000 years, 100,000 years, and 150,000 years with current dating processes though we KNOW the rocks are only 30 years old.

TX State Law:
A certified teacher is allowed to teach one hour on a subject w/ zero qualifications.
As a Reading teacher, I taught one class of English as a Second Language (ESL) w/ zero experience!
A person, born in Greece, w/ a Phd in the Greek language, but no teaching degree, would be passed over for the PE teacher!

We home school our kids. The government will NOT be taking them to lesbian “weddings,” Barack Obama rallies or La Raza/Acorn meetings.
While we do try to expose our kids to languages I admit the local county schools offer a better foreign language exposure as they currently have more than 40 languages spoken in the public elementary schools.
HMMM. ILMC has been waiting for the day he can send his kiddies to school and recite this pledge.
