Ohio prosecutor investigating Voter Fraud House
Early this morning, I told you about the suspicious houseful of out-of-state Democrat activists studying abroad who registered to vote, received absentee ballots, and in some cases, voted despite dubious residency and having no plans to return to Ohio — first reported by Shelby Holliday and Tiffany Wilson at Palestra.net.
Now comes official word that the Franklin County prosecutor is investigating 13 of those activists from Vote From Home:
Amid new allegations of voter fraud, the Ohio Secretary of State conceded today that the eligibility of nearly one third of newly registered voters is in question.
The latest developments raising questions about the integrity of this battleground state’s voting system came 18 days before the Nov. 4 presidential election:
Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner said a preliminary review showed that 200,000 of the 666,000 voters who registered since Jan. 1 must have their eligibility verified to comply with a federal court order.
Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien confirmed that he is investigating alleged voter and registration fraud involving 13 newly registered voters who came to Columbus for a get-out-the-vote campaign and used the same address, a small East Side home.
The Ohio Republican Party requested information about newly registered voters from elections boards in all 88 counties to look into reports of fraudulent voter registration.
Elections officials across the state said they fear chaos if they must verify the validity of thousands of newly registered voters in the busy days leading up to the election.
O’Brien told The Dispatch that he is investigating allegations that 13 out-of-state residents recently registered to vote, all claiming to live at 2885 Brownlee Rd.
The individuals apparently were in Columbus working for Vote From Home, a group working to increase young-voter turnout in Ohio and using the house as their base of operation, O’Brien said.
“None of the people who registered had prior contacts with Columbus and Franklin County,” O’Brien said. “You must be a resident of the state of Ohio in order to register and cast a ballot, and that’s the issue being examined – whether they were proper residents of Ohio.”
Two of the individuals voted in person at Veteran’s Memorial while a third returned a completed absentee ballot by mail, said Matt Damshroder, deputy director of the Franklin County Board of Elections.
Another seven using the address requested absentee ballots by mail, but it is not yet clear if they have submitted them. Three others registered but did not request an absentee ballot or participate in early voting.
Election fraud is a fifth-degree felony with a maximum sentence of a year in prison and a $2,500 fine.

I would add that authorities need to be investigating the Vote From Home activists’ tax activities as well.
Since these activists have declared themselves residents of Ohio, they will probably need to pay taxes to both Ohio and the U.S. Department of the Treasury on their scholarships.
Look:
For Ohio residents, retirement income, pension income and annuity income are taxable regardless of where received by the taxpayer. For example, a full year Ohio resident who spends part of the year in Ohio and part of the year in Florida and who receives a pension is liable for Ohio income tax on the entire amount of the pension received during the taxable year. This is true regardless of the location where the taxpayer worked in prior years to earn the pension…. Part-year Ohio residents are persons who changed their permanent residence from or to Ohio during the taxable year. A person whose residence is Ohio but who spends several months outside Ohio during the year is not a part-year resident but is a full-year Ohio resident. For part-year Ohio residents, retirement income, pension income and annuity income received while a resident of Ohio are taxable.

Meanwhile, fraud-friendly Democrat Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner acknowledged that some 200,000 voters appear to have driver’s license numbers or Social Security numbers that do not match info on their voter registration forms.
The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Tues day that Brunner must give those mismatched names to county elections boards so they can verify eligibility.
Brunner said that she wants more time to comply with the court’s ruling so she can give local boards information needed to contact questionable voters in the most efficient way.
“We are asking the court for a little bit more time, probably into the beginning of next week,” Brunner said prior to a speech at the National Press Club in Washington.
Looks like someone needs to spend more time at home cleaning up the mess and less time yammering in D.C.

As I recall from the original story on this these students were all studying overseas … so I say issue warrants for all of them and when they return to the USA they should immediately be arrested at the Customs and Immigration checkpoint …
I seem to recall that in most states, the Secretary of State is the one that certifies election results. That requires the upmost of personal integrity. After Brunner’s performance this year, her integrity seems questionable at best. She ought to resign or least take a leave of absense and three appointees (one Dem, one Repub, and one independent) should certify Ohio’s results from Election Day.
The only way to stop this from continuing is to prosecute the felons and give them the maximum. Voting is our most critical right to maintain our freedom.
If the Attorney General and the Justice Department don’t start enforcing election laws (amongst other laws, like immigration), then there’s going to come a time when many of us Milton Waddams’ are going to say, “Well, ok, but that’s the last straw. I’m going to burn down the building…”
It seems as if they have had enough wealth spread around their way and can afford homes in more than one jurisdiction! No wonder they want to vote for Obama.
I have the answer.
The reason that we can’t have voter ID laws, say the lefties, is that certain victim groups are apparently either too lazy and/or too incompetent to get picture ID’s.
So we pass a federal law that says all voters must present proof of citizenship to register and picture ID’s to vote. Then we allow ACORN to perform get-out-the-vote drives by helping their constituents get to places where they can get FREE picture ID’s.
That way everybody should be happy, right?
You can see it in their beady little vegan eyes that they are rich kids.

Sounds to me like this is one of two things:
1: they fradulent registered to vote and need to be prosecutted
2: they are evading taxes and should be prosecuted (I guess that would make them unpatriotic too wouldn’t Joe Biden?)
The other thing that I see needs to happen is to change voter fraud from a 5th degree felony to something much harsher. Let’s face it a year in prison and a $2500 fine is small price to pay to elect the “one”. Now if it were a stiffer sentence, say at least 5 years with no possible parole and a $100,000 fine I am sure that would get people’s attention.

Sergeant Tim great comment about the person responsible for certifying election results should be a person of unquestionable integrity. Ohio Secretary of State Brunner had to be forced by a Federal court order to do her job. Like I said on another thread this women needs to be addressed as a co-conspirator on the on going RICO investigation.
With 200K registrations not matching Ohio you have a problem. It is time to put all of the ACORN registrations in file 13 (trash for the civilians in the crowd). After all (trying my best to feel like a Democrat) we have to be fair to the properly registered voters of Ohio.

In the last election, there were dozens of people nationwide caught voting illegally, literally dozens. If this is the best issue you have left, you’ve really really run out of issues.
SO, if some of these 200K mismatches already voted in the early election, are those results going to be thrown out? Brunner speciifically ordered that no ID check be made and no observers allowed for that event.

Sec. Brunner(D) says “no problem here, move along”. She has appealed to the Supreme Court to over turn the Fed. District court ruling. Should buy enough time to to get through November. This is in a state where the last presidential election was decided by 118,775 votes.
Besides, David Axelrod stated two days ago that voter registration fraud does not equate to voter fraud. There is no proof that any of the millions of fraudulent registrations will not be caught and any improper votes will be cast and counted. I know that I for one will be warmed by the thought that while I wait in line on Nov. 4, 2008 to vote, that somewhere out there in this great country are people who will vote once for themselves and then once again to cancel my vote out.
But I suppose that it is better that millions of illegal votes get counted rather than 1 legal wino in Milwaukee with a fresh pack of Lucky’s in his pocket and a voucher for a bottle of Vat 69 at Mike’s Liquor Emporium has his eligibility questioned by some vote suppressing, election Nazi, grandmother, election worker.

What part of EARLY VOTING/SAME DAY REGISTRATION do you not get?! If they illegally registered to vote in Ohio under the same-day plan, they also cast a fraudulent ballot.
Let me see if I have this right…there was a huge push to get all these homeless people to register to vote and then vote the same day, as there was a window of time where they would be transported by people who were telling them to vote for Obama. No observers were allowed. Then, fraud and mismatches turned up. Then, the Secretary of State in Ohio, a very liberal, partisan, left-wing moonbat, decided to break the law, disregard a court order, and not allow anyone to check the validity of the votes. Is that about right? First of all, they need to throw that hack out of office. Then they need to arrest her and charge her with treason for trying to fix a Federal election. Then, they need to throw out every single vote from that early voting. None of them are valid. Then, they need to check every registration and every identification before anyone else can vote. If a man shows contempt for the law in seeking election, how can we expect him to treat it after the election?

lgm…Mickey Mouse doesn’t have to actually show up at the polls. He can mail it in. And, since Sec. of State Brunner is the one verifying the election, she would certainly allow the vote to count, so as to not disenfranchise the Rodent-American population.

What is the purpose of fraudulent voter registration? Its purpose is to push thru enough illegal registrations so that it is possible to illegally vote, whether in person or via absentee ballot, such as these people did. While there are checks and balances at the voting booth, it requires the due diligence to ensure that those processes work. It does not appear that the Secretary of State is interested in such work.

As these individuals crossed state (and international) lines, shouldn’t this be a Federal prosecution?
As LGM and the trolls/Dems ilk are supporting this crime by claiming that it “hurts no one”; or by doing or perpetuating a felony by either working for or supporting ACORN in goods, monies, or allaiance; should they all be charged with aiding and abetting a Federal felony for violating Amendment 16 of the Constitution?
Since these actors are working from overseas, couldn’t this be an act of treason as defined by Article 3, Section 3 of the US Constitution, as potentially giving aid and comfort?
Since Secretary of State (Ohio) Jennifer Brunner, sitting in an Ohio official capacity, is allowing this to occur by preventing reasonable checks against State databases, isn’t Ohio in violation of Article 1, Section 10 of the US Constitution by entering “Agreement or Compact with…a foreign Power”?

This problem has dangerous implications. As we have men and women overseas working hard to help ensure honest and free elections in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention pressure to other countries to promote democracy. How can our military do its job if the country they represent seems to not be able to control fraud and corruption. The cheating being portrayed here will translate to groups or political organizations overseas who would decide to do anything to win elections, including subversion or terrorism. This puts our men and women in more danger as foreign politicians would say, but it is done in your country too. This is embarrasing. I truly feel sorry for the USA, even if BHO does not win, morally, this country has lost.

It really amazes me, that with 30% of all early registrations beeing “problematic” (and admittedly so), the Secretary of State would actually go before SCOTUS to argue against(!) election fraud prevention laws.
How does this fit together with the 2000 election scrutiny over every hanging chad? This really leaves the impression that electoral problems are not so bad, just as long as the Dems can expect to profit from them.
If this is close, the court cases here are going to make the 2000 election look lame.
