“Baffled:” Secret Service can’t find anyone to corroborate reporter’s “Kill them” claim
The “Kill Them” claim spread like wildfire across the MSM as evidence of “insane rage” on the Right. Barack Obama mentioned it during the debate.
Now that the Secret Service has investigated and failed to find a single person to corroborate the reporter’s claim, I’m sure you’ll be seeing this on the front pages and nightly news lead stories in all the media outlets that spread it.
Right?
Riiiiiight.
The Times-Leader reports:
The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded.
The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Oabama’s name a man in the audience shouted “kill him.”
News organizations including ABC, The Associated Press, The Washington Monthly and MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann reported the claim, with most attributing the allegations to the Times-Tribune story.
Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.
“I was baffled,” he said after reading the report in Wednesday’s Times-Tribune.
He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.
Slavoski said more than 20 non-security agents were interviewed Wednesday, from news media to ordinary citizens in attendance at the rally for the Republican vice presidential candidate held at the Riverfront Sports Complex. He said Singleton was the only one to say he heard someone yell “kill him.”
“We have yet to find someone to back up the story,” Slavoski said. “We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it.”

MtsEdge, my husband does this all the time.
I really wouldn’t make too much of it. Besides, there’s more than enough outright lies and misdirection by the One on which to focus our attention – and hopefully, the attention of the undecided.
Expect this to be the M.O. of B.O. during his reign…and it would not surprise me one bit if such an exaggeration (someone yelled kill him) would be used to impose martial law or other artifice to shred the constitution at some time.

Agree with you on why Hillary was in attendance … local officials are always expected to appear at things like this when they are held in their backyards …
However, I also think there is some credence to the fact she is playing both sides of the fence … she has to appear faithful to the party while secretly hoping Obama loses so she can resurrect her ambitions in 2012 …
I would be willing to give odds that she and Bill will not actually vote for BO …

So nobody can confirm the reporter’s account that somebody yelled, “Kill him!” at a Palin rally. No surprise.
I’d mentioned it in a thread some weeks ago, but there’s a precedent for this from the last election: In September 2004, Bill Clinton had a heart attack. An AP reporter covering one of President Bush’s campaign events claimed that when the news was given to the crowd, they booed.
Trouble was, it was a lie. Tape recordings of the event revealed no such thing; the AP reporter just made it all up.
And now it’s happened again. Funny, that these mythical displays of “hate” only seem to get reported at Republican events…
Remember, “it’s not a lie, if you believe it.”
Under a President Obama, will the Secret Service have to investigate the rock band ‘Metallica’ because their debut album is entitled “Kill ‘Em All?”
Is anyone truly surprised that the MSM would turn a rumor into absolute truth?
…and that Obama would use it in his argument last night?

I don’t know what Hillary will do, but it seems self-evident that she thinks Obama stole the nomination from her (she’s right…he bused people in from other states in order to win caucus states, just like Obama continues to bus people in for his rallies). It seems self-evident that Hillary can’t stand Obama, and probably wouldn’t shed a tear if the RFK event was repeated.
I do NOT support that behavior in ANY way, shape, or form.
The Clintons, however, seem to have a long trail of bodies left in their political wake.

The campaign organizers need to screen the audience better. If it is true that reporter actually did hear somebody shout “Kill him!” , I’d have to conclude that Hillary Clinton snuck into the rally.
This is bigger than this story.
There are three “kill me” smears
The first in Clearwater FL by Dana Milbank, Olberdork’s sidekick. The Secret Service investigated and the person is on tape saying “Tell Him” – not “Kill Him”.
The second in Scranton, PA was from a reporter with Joe Biden’s liberal hometown newspaper. The reporter had no video, no audio and no witnesses. The Secret Service investigation result – ‘unfounded’.
The media have jumped from biased to corrupt.
The third is Obama smearing Palin last night in the debates. Obama would have been briefed by the Secret Service and would have known these smears were lies before the debate last night.
Oops – kill him, not kill me.

There is no dignity in what Obummer is pushing. It is slavery, yet this time American citizens will give up their freedom for a chance to put their hands in the treasury. What happened to just running an honest campaign, Dems? Post-partisan? Post-racial? Yeah, right.
Oh, he will, just wait. The military is good as a social service organization for those who want a free education and can walk away when they’re done. I think one of our liberal visitors (chaps?) is one of the many liberals who decided it was good to serve the military to pay for their education when it suited them and then get out when they were done using them.
This is the only reason that Obummer will keep any semblance of the military in existence. He can use people like my husband as peacekeepers in places like Darfur but not “invest” in new equipment to replace aging equipment.
The bottom has fallen out of our country and our military. Many military members are afraid of Obummer and some are even voicing a plan B- getting out and moving on. Some would rather serve somebody with a track record than one who has made it clear how much contempt he holds for the military.
I’m under no illusions. Nobody is. We’ve seen it with Clinton and we’ll see it with Obummer.
The Bills have more heart, courage, and willpower than the American people. You learn from loss and you persevere even if the Bills go nowhere this season.
The American people could learn a lot from my Bills and the military. Both have the characteristics that are undesireable in today’s American.

Which of the following is more likely:
1) The Rally was full of illegal alien supporters of John McCain who are all too afraid of deportation to talk to the FBI.
2) Singleton is a bald-faced liar.

Of course they can’t find anyone to corroborate it because it didn’t happen. Conservatives are constantly getting blamed for not doing the things that the liberals do. There were a few times during this last debate I wished McCain would have looked bo in the eye and simply said……….”Liar” but that will never happen.
Thing is, it does bnot matter if it was said or not. It is not important for anything they claim to actually be true. The Liberals and DNC have learned that all you need is an allegation, for someone to make a claim of wrongdoing and that is enough.
The damage has been done. They know that no one will ever come forward and make as much hay about the false allegation as they did the original allegation.
Liberals and Democrats deal only in feelings, emotions, and 10 second sound bites. They are not ones to delve into facts and never let the truth of matters get in the way of their goals.
How many times has this happened? The number is so high that it would take some of the largest computers to calculate the number of events that are similar to this.
It will continue to go on so long as the Government refuses to put people in desperate need of mental help in the proper facilities and keep them out of the DNC Head Office and off the News Anchor positions.

Obama was surrounded with Secret Service men and NONE of them heard a person screaming “Kill that fucking prick”.
Which means that it didn’t happen.

Let me get this straight. A reporter imagines hearing someone shout “Kill him” at a Sarah Palin rally and the media and everyone else on the Left has a conniption fit. But an officer of the law actually does threaten to kill Sarah Palin’s father and these same people insist that this officer be allowed to keep his job and his gun. They even accuse Sarah of abusing her power as Governor for even requesting that the officer’s superiors discipline him. It appears that not all death threats are equal in the eyes of the Left.
I believe they pawned Socks off on Betty Currie as they were leaving the White House.
