Some idiot liberal bloggers are saying there is a big scandal because Joe the Plumber doesn’t make $250,000 and would (GASP) actually get a tax cut under Obama’s plan! I could not make the case against their liberal socialist plan any better than they themselves are. Hey, rocket scientists, here is what Joe said: “I’m getting ready to buy a company that makes about 250, 270 – 80 thousand dollars a year, your new tax plan is going to tax me more isn’t it? I’m getting taxed more and more for fulfilling the American dream.” Got that? He didn’t say he makes that now. You should have gotten the clue when he said “I am getting ready to buy a company.” Evidently the Obama talking points went out saying Joe doesn’t make $250,000 and the idiot lib bloggers ate it up and didn’t bother watching the actual comment Joe the Plumber made, but rather reported this fact as some big Republican lie.
Brace yourself, Joe. The Obama Thugocracy is gunning for you. But what they don’t seem to understand is that even if Joe was John McCain’s long lost son and a huge donor to the GOP, or not even a plumber, it would not matter at all because what was shocking about the video was not what Joe the Plumber said. Joe the Plumber is not going to be making tax policy. What was shocking and more relevant than anything else that has been said in the entire campaign is what Barack Obama said. He told Joe that it is okay to soak those making more than $250,000, even small businesses making that, because then you can “spread the wealth” around and everyone benefits. That is redistribution of wealth — taking from the rich (and from the kinda rich) and giving to the not so rich and the poor. And Obama admitted to it. Out loud. And on video.

Business 101: Businesses do not pay taxes, they pass them on to the consumer.
A tax on any sized business – large or small – amounts to a tax on all of us, through increased prices and/or fewer jobs and layoffs.
Obama may claim his tax plan will not burden those outside the 5% “Gold Club” but it will, and it will hurt – especially those subsisting at the low end of his coveted 95%.
Obama’s tax plan is a Trojan Horse, people. Don’t fall for it!

Are there any accountants here? Biden mentioned it again; can someone explain Obama’s ‘no tax on capital gains’ for small businesses?
The ONLY businesses I can think of that normally would ever have capital gains are ones like real estate holding companies and insurance companies.
I have a small business and all my capital assets have been depreciated to zero on the books. If I sell something yes, I’d see a capital gain but, unless I am SHRINKING my company, that gain goes right back into replacing whatever I sold so I don’t pay tax on it anyway.
As I see it, this ‘tax incentive’ Obama is suggesting seems to actually incite businesses to sell off capital investments and not replace the tangible asset that they sold that brought them the capital gain. That’s called … DOWN SIZING as I see it.
Obama did say that we all ‘have to make do with less’ so I guess that includes having less jobs.
So you don’t care how this will affect the military? The small business owner? The person who just wants to get ahead without being penalized? Is this your answer? Or would you rather keep deflecting?
Sure, tell that to the Dem party whose biggest supporters are trial lawyers of whom you are a member, correct? How are you gonna make it when your firm has to pay more taxes and charge clients more? Will your clients still think you special then? Or will they look at cheaper alternatives? Again, are you deflecting or do you even give a crap about anybody other than yourself?
Those same ambulance chasers who raise insurance rates and make healthcare more expensive? The very ones? I’ve met some attorney’s in my life and they are the biggest opportunists I’ve ever met. My brother-in-law’s wife is a lawyer who regularly chews out bad men who
mistreat their wives and children and try to squeeze these guys for more child support and goodies than they’re already trying to pay.
Lawyers look after their own. That’s why they’re in bed with the Dem party. If you don’t fall into their old boy club you’re satan. It’s nice to know who you identify with.

Prove to us here that Obummer ISN’T going to raise taxes. Give us some REAL statistics. Prove to use that he won’t DEFUND the military and sack military members close to retirement like Clinton did because he could. PROVE IT.

I and many Americans have a lot to lose if Obummer is elected and you making fun of that says a lot more about you than it does about me. What’s sad is how little concern you have for the military, the very organization that put you through law school. That was you, right?
I think any real asset like real estate and stocks you might have purchased in another firm can be taxed as capital gains.
If a company buys a building and sells it as a gain (hey, it might happen again one day) it could have gained value and that gain would be taxed as a capital gain just like when people buy and sell real estate.
Not an expert in this field but I think this would apply.
A plumber could net a profit of $250 thousand if he made a 10% return on gross sales of $2.5 million.
To get grosss sales of $2.5 million, his company would have to bill 25 thousand hours of work at $100 per hour.
This would be about 12 people billing 40 hours per week.
A small plumbing business could easily have 12 or more plumbers. Their bill rates could easily be higher. Their profit margin could easily be more than 10%.
Joe the Plumber will subsidize the people chosen by Obama and his cronies. But Joe the Plumber will take all the risk. He could lose everything. Now we know who to suck up to. Obama will have a lot of power with all these people sucking up to him. Dependent on the government teat.
Don’t forget the sweetheart deal to get it…

The money in turn would be invested in special government bonds that would pay 3% a year, adjusted for inflation.
The current system of providing tax breaks on 401(k) contributions and earnings would be eliminated.
“I want to stop the federal subsidy of 401(k)s,” Ms. Ghilarducci said in an interview. “401(k)s can continue to exist, but they won’t have the benefit of the subsidy of the tax break.”

A dem spokesperson just said to Neil Cavuto that Joe the Plumber is neither named Joe, nor is he a plumber. Cavuto replied, yes, he is a plumber. The dem said, but not a LICENSED plumber. They are really desperate. Also, Obama put down Joe the Plumber in a speech today. Very nasty and condescending about him. Both Barack and Bidet are going to crash and burn. They are seeing their campaign unraveling. Now for the October surprise! Bring it on!

Not surprising they would go after him the way they went after Gov. Palin. And he isn’t even running for office. I suspect both campaigns have “October Surprises” ready for each other.
I am left to wonder whether it will come down to who has the darker secret versus who is most ruthlessly willing and able to exploit the other candidate’s secrets and weaknesses.
I would suspect Obama has the most to hide and is the most vulernable on any number of fronts. But, McCain has been around a long time and isn’t exactly pure as the driven snow. But, the MSM will obviously showcase any McCain failing with much greater intensity than any Obama weakness.
Then, Obama is obviously willing to do anything to win. McCain is obviously not willing and may not be able to be as ruthless as these Marxists. But, again, the MSM would downplay any anti-Obama revelations McCain might bring.
Therefore, I can only conclude that an “October Surprise” is more likely to hurt McCain than Obama.
At any rate, I suspect the next three weeks will be vicious. If you think the race card has been played already I suggest you hold on to your hats. That and more is almost certainly in the works.
Interesting that Obama has an ad out talking about all the employees whose jobs have been sent overseas. This man has a real disconnect in that Harvard-educated, but very small brain of his!! If corporations pay high taxes, they are going to move their operations to a country where the taxes are lower! Get it, Obama? Duh!!
What they are talking about is a tax increase which will affect millions of working americans! Democrats figure out another way to screw the American working man! And still he claims that 95% of the population will get a tax cut under his program. There’s a word for that – lying. But Chap will defend the indefensible to his last breath.

Really? You should see what they make here. Up until recently, general contractors were charging $400/square foot, and plumbers are charging $175/hour. Not bad. You do the math…

First, the guy was talking about what he might have to pay to buy the business, not his income. Second, how dumb do you have to be to think someone is a plant when they are hanging around in their own neighborhood and a candidate shows up? Are these people allowed out alone?

Almost surely the Dems will let the Bush’s tax cuts expire. It won’t be long before that will be revisited and of course Joe’s starting point will be higher.

Just heard the Joe the plumber video again and Obama specifically says that businesses with revenue of 250K+ will be taxed higher. So according to him it is not just those making 250K+ profit. Unless he just doesn’t know what his own policy is.
I really believe it is a matter of being careless with language. People throw around the words revenue income profit, etc… very loosely.
This attack on some guy who actually dared to ask a question that Obama and Biden didn’t like!! I hear that the media has actually done a credit check on Joe the Plumber…. let’s see Obama’s credit rating.
In the future, make sure you check with your lawyer before asking a question of Obama or Biden. It might cost you a small fortune, but it certainly will prevent the left wing media from trying to destroy you and violate your “civil rights.”
