Your spirit-lifter of the day

There is something very special about this woman, and I pity the detractors on the left and the right who don’t appreciate it.

Related: Outrageous. Disabled man and family say he was forced to vote for Obama…
There are allegations of voter fraud, as a Dougherty County family claims the vote of a mentally challenged relative was stolen.
They say the adult day rehab program where Jack Justice attends took him to vote, without the family’s permission. What’s worse is Justice says the person helping him wouldn’t cast the ballot for his choice for President.
Jack Justice has been voting since he turned 18. Typically his family takes him to their neighborhood precinct. This time Primus Industries, his adult day rehab program, took him to vote. His family was shocked, but what shocked them more was that Jack claims that his aide commandeered his vote.
“They told me to vote for Obama, I said no I wanted to vote for McCain,” said Jack Justice, a voter.
Jack Justice says the person helping him, selected Obama’s name. His sister says the family is often asked to sign a permission slips for trips, but for this they were never notified.
“No permission slips, no nothing, he just came home and said he had gone,” said Nancy Justice, Jack’s sister.

A class act taking on classless foes.
My wife is convinced the Left hates the Governor BECAUSE she is had Trig and not an abortion. That and they are jealous she did not succeed “their” way and pay homage to “them”.
Sounds right.
I Luv the Guv. A moose roast in every pot.
this made me cry. I truly believe that little Trig, being in the public eye, could do more to advance the cause of life than any politician.
While her counterpart discredits American citizens, she uplifts them.
God will certainly bless her. I also think that WE are blessed to have such a compassionate, down-to-earth woman running for office. There aren’t many places in the world where this is possible. She has certainly captured my heart.
Sarah is something special. She reaches people that the Heather MacDonalds’ of the world just can’t speak to.
The libs know she will move public opinion if given a chance to. That’s what they are terrified of. Abortion, energy, pro-military and veterans and families, not to mention she is really rocking on taxes, small business and the economy.
I love this woman. Go Cuda go!
What a wonderful story. Sarah Palin is an amazing woman, and I would be proud to have her as our country’s Vice-President.
Oh, please bless her, and please let her be our V.P.
How about taking some of the money our government gives to AIDS research and putting it towards grants for Downs Syndrome research, among other things like many forms of cancer or Lou Gehrig’s or Alzheimer’s or…?
Go Sarah!
THAT is how God works in the lives of His children and reveals to the world His plan and purpose for all mankind. He will put to shame the foolish.
Such a class act! And it wouldn’t matter even if she weren’t running for V.P. The libs can’t stand it because she became successful by doing exactly the opposite of the way they would have done it.
Joy Baer (sp) eat your cold blooded heart out!
This woman is too good for politics.
SarahCuda is obviously also SarahCuddles.
Something else also. Have you noticed Sarah is a really beautiful lady? It’s not just her looks either. She is one who enhances her outer beauty when her inner beauty shines through. Some pretty girls I’ve known, when they open their mouths and start talking they are not so pretty.
When you hear her talking about these kids, or our troops, our country, or especially quoting Ronaldus Magnus, she glows even more.
We have ourselves the first female President, right before our eyes, and she’s one of US!
Sarah’s a Brick House!
She is mighty!!
She is being rewarded for
a godly life.
All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord.
Yes, we can too…
If you love America, I believe you will love Sarah Palin.
On the other hand, if you say you are a “conservative” and yet you loath Governor Palin (e.g. David Brooks: “She is a cancer on the Republican Party”), here’s a thought. It might be best to go off someplace for a while and think things through, what your vision is for America and what that vision is based upon, the fundamentals of the nation, things like that. Rough times are ahead. It’s important for you to know which side you are really on.
A ticket that values life versus a ticket that represents a party of death. A ticket that lives Matthew 25 versus a ticket that talks about it.
A ticket that hawks cotton-candy welfare marked as a “tax break” versus a ticket with energy, tax, and economic policies directed to getting all of us back on track. And much more.
I don’t understand why this is even close.
Wake up, America. See whom we can elect, and see whom we can avoid.
I guess MSNBC has finally decided that Obama is a shoe in so they can stop heaping sh*t on Sarah. Boy are they going to be p*ssed Nov 5th.
The love of many will wax cold…
That about explains the condition of waaaay too many in the world these days.
Sarah Rocks! flat out.
So does Cindy McCain!
It’s Killin em and
I Love it!!!
McCain/Palin 08′
When McCain first announced Sarah for VP;
I saw how cute and poised that her children were, and thought that the media would rush to make rock stars of them, spoil them with attention, put them on magazine covers as America’s sweethearts. As we’ve seen, I could not have been more wrong!!
GOD BLESS Sarah Palin for her heartfelt desire to help others with special needs.
As a Father of (3) three minor children, with special needs, I am constantly AMAZED by my (Angel) Wifes’ temperment, compassion, and tireless efforts (of course I contribute alot but there is something EXTRASPECIAL about the bond/commitment between Mother and Child) on behalf of these wonderful/special children.
SNL, and the MSM, can try to “cartoonize” Sarah Palin (or anyone else) but not all of us have housekeepers, nannys, low paid ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS (see numerous Democratic Politicians for details) to do the “daily routines” and/or care for our children.
May all of us realilze/recognize that ALL children (here and around the World) are SPECIAL. May their lives be blessed and filled with promise/dreams realized and love.
We owe it to ALL the children to give them the tools to…succeed and be healthy.
THANK YOU Sarah Palin and for millions of other Mothers who will never get video taken of them as they love/care for their own children (grandchildren, etc.). God bless you all.
Nuff said.

We live along side the culture of death and hate. Anything that is moral is a threat to their true agenda.
The left will never understand.
WE LOVE YOU SARAH
During my second pregancy I was told that my baby would have Downs. I was so scared, but never did the thought of killing my child cross my mind.
Like any mother (and a single one at that) I researched Downs and tried to prepare myself for the awesomeness of raising a special needs child.
It turns out that I was mis-diagnosed. I was relieved, felt guilty about feeling relieved, and also a wiser woman. I had a major gut check with my baby, who was a premiee (2 lbs!) and born with congenital heart defects. I learned that there was so much more of me than I thought there was. I learned that there is so much more depth to people than what you may see on the surface.
The women who murder their children in the womb because they aren’t Perfect LIttle Children aren’t anything more than cowardice filled selfish people.
There is something endearing about seeing Todd carrying Trig down the plane steps and around their campaign venues. You just know that if he would trip and fall, that baby will have a soft landing, somewhere on Todd.
Liberals hate families.
Wow, this video is really relevant to me right now—I just got back from volunteering at a program for the mentally and developmentally disabled. To think that some people feel they should be aborted so they don’t “burden” us…
Liberals hate.
Plain and simple.
If I would have taken a lady like Sarah home to meet my parents, my parents would have said she is too good for me and kicked me out and kept Sarah. God bless her abundantly!!!
Just ignore the angry left…. nothing but a bunch of sorry a$$ losers anyway.
Pond scum has more class.
It’s Killin em and
I Love it!!!
McCain/Palin 08′
God bless this women and all those who bless her and God curse those who curse her.
Someone at NBC has a guilty conscience about all the Sarah Palin hit pieces the MSM have done. That could be the only explanation for this beautiful piece.
It’s OK Coffee she’s better than most of us.
She may be a nice woman, but she’s certainly not ready to be President. This isn’t a personal thing. Rationally speaking, she has yet to explain so many basic concepts ranging from the role of government, taxation, national sovereignty, a holistic foreign policy, whether/how the Constitution is a “living” document, etc. These things may not matter to some, but they matter to me.
*braces for the HEAT rounds from the irrational*
It is kinda fun to watch them twitch!
Beautiful story (surprisingly coming from NBC). She really is a threat to all those pro-abortion zealots.
God bless her and help her and McCain be our President and Vice-President.
*sigh*
Dittos from me, AlohaGuy.
It is soothing to see such care and concern shown by Sarahcuddles to those in all walks of life.
The ground under her feet is level. She’s real, reachable and deserves to be respected for all she’s accomplished. What a stark contrast to the Obamas.
Pity those who hate, lest we become like them in any way.
Every October I spend several weekends handing out Tootsie Rolls and collecting money for the annual Knight of Columbus’s Tootsie Roll Drive for Mentally Retarded (politically incorrect term) or Intellectually Challanged (politically correct term). I have been doing this for approximately 15 years. So if you see some men wearing yellow vests with red letters pushing Tootsie Rolls, help them out.
This year a seemingly nice black women wanted to know if I was in the KKK. I told her not hardly.
Go Sarah Go!
Along the same lines, there’s been a documentary in progress on a young man named Dan Drinker who has Down Syndrome. The videos his brother has filmed are remarkable and Dan will absolutely steal your heart. It’s worth checking out.

Oh, thank you, Michelle. Great comments, too, on the people who don’t “get” Palin’s message.
To quote Sarah Palin, may our country “pray for our hearts to be prepared for the challenges to come.”
May God bless Sarah Palin, John McCain and the American people who want to preserve and protect our nation. May the American people choose wisely on November 4th, and may some people’s hearts and minds become open to the message of McCain/Palin.
I pray daily for McCain/Palin, and for America to hear them and see the truth in this election.
Neither is Obama. But unlike Sarah, he’s not the VP on the ticket.
No heat, Send_Me.
I’d like to hear your explanation of Obama’s, Biden’s & McCain’s respective positions on each of these things you mention. G’head. I’m listening.
People who are in these special situations are truly called by God to a higher level of parenting than we can suppose to understand.
Cover this Keith Olberman…
I couldn’t have said it better with 100 words.
As we consider the faces of these dear children with Down Syndrome, let’s not forget that 90% of them are deprived of even being born, lost to abortion.
That statistic should stagger even the staunchest of pro-abortion folks. What puny character to imagine we should decide quality of life issues, or seek relief from the difficulties of our own situation by taking the life of a child so we can avoid it all.
Man. God must be crying.
My sister has Down’s. We’re only 18 months apart.
Growing up with her, I can promise you these innocents are special in God’s eyes. He protects them.
Whoa to the liberals who attack these most innocent, their mothers, fathers, and families!
“Thank you” to the families who chose to bring these angels into the world. You will be blessed more than you’ll ever know!
Prayers and Blessings to Trig and his family. We’re proud of your mother!
God bless you and your family, rightwingmom.

Well said. Yes, God is sad. At least they’re with Him and his perfect love.
…but let me see how far I can (personally) crawl under everyone’s skin…
And keeping a log of events also.
How can any rational human NOT like this woman? Sarah can’t walk on water but she is hated like the ONE who did walk on water many years ago and was crucified because of hatred for Him. And trust me, these people would like nothing better than to nail Sarah to a cross. Those fools don’t know a blessing when the see one because of their self inflicted blindness.
Tribute here to my friend, Leah: She had special needs and I met her at work. We’d go to lunch together and she’d say, “You pay; I’ll pray”. That was our *thing*. I was happy to pay and she was happy to pray. I would cry every time, so humbled by her conversations with God and the privilege of being there with them together. I always thought, “God has a special heart for Leah, so he blessed her with a special heart for Him”.
She passed away from cancer in 2005.
Oh, what a celebration heaven had that day!
What happened to the compassion of the left?
There is something cold in their hearts.
and send me thinks his royal dopeyness is ready to be President…..
ahahahhahahahahahahahahahah
ahahhahhahahahahahahahahhaha
aahahahhahahahahahahha…
that same old kos instruction book on Governor Palin making the rounds….
(what hearts?)
Send_Me I understand. I too would like to know all the candidates positions on these issues. But for tonight just stop it OK. Just stop it.
I’ve read a lot of these things and even with Doubting Thomas (Send-Me), this is the kindest, most loving bunch of comments I’ve seen.
God bless you all and may God grant Sarah the strength to bear the burden we’ve placed upon her.

Vicki, I was already emotional after watching the video of Sarah, and your comment just brought more tears…
God’s ways are certainly higher than our ways. These special people, whom some think would be a “burden”, are blessings from God and He uses them to get messages of His love through to us.
I can understand your frustration. People wonder how we got to this point, a choice between Obama or McCain, a socialist or a moderate socialist? Ever since Reagan, the Republicans, specifically the “conservative” branch of the party, has sold its soul in order to save what little they have left in terms of representation by the Republican candidates. “Conservatives” have been weak-minded, short-sighted, and, frankly, cowardly in regards to standing up for their beliefs. “Conservatives” (I have a hard time finding the meaning of the term anymore- even McCain claims to be one) have done themselves no favors by consistently voting for the “lesser of two evils” in the past 5 elections. We wonder why McCain won’t listen to the “base”? Have you ever thought that he realizes, with good reason, that he doesn’t have to do so? Why should he? He already has your vote. What else does he need from you? So what, you’re pissed off? Why should he care if you’re pissed off if he still gets your vote? “Conservatives” have been weak in not demanding that Republican candidates stand for their principles or else they won’t vote for them. “Conservatives” have lacked any vision by thinking that things would somehow get better by continually giving their blind support to those who don’t support their ideals. “Conservatives” have been cowardly by fearing the loss of what little they have in terms of political representation have rather than trying to win.
So this election day, whether anyone else stands with me or not, I’m doing my part to say “That is the last straw” to the Republican party by voting for a third party candidate. Some may say, “oh, well you’re giving your vote to Obama.” No, my vote is going to someone who shares my ideals, something of which neither Obama nor McCain have any apparent understanding.
“These” people are here to teach us humility and mercy if we want to learn. It’s never too late to want to learn.
Thanks, RedPill, I know; I was crying just typing it.
I really miss Leah, but have so many really fun and funny memories, as well as the special and tender ones. Leah was a total crack-up. I am better for having known her.
It is so clear to me that we are not the arbiters of who should be born; we’re just not. It’s so simple, isn’t it?

That is basically my parents’ reaction towards me and my wife. They like her more than they like their own son! I’ve been blessed to marry such a great woman. In many ways, Sarah Palin and my wife seem to be cut from the same cloth. These are real women.
This topic, and all of the Palin bashing, reminds me of a passage from Scripture that I’d like to share:
The Apostle Paul in 2nd Corinthians 2:14-16a said:
To those who are opposed to life and basic goodness, she has become as “cancer,” as the very stench of death. But to those who are genuinely decent, loving folks, she is the aroma of goodness and life. She obviously isn’t perfect, but here is a decent human being – which is rare in politics, especially at this level.
Hear Hear!
In regards to:
“Disabled man and family say he was forced to vote for Obama…”
1) The DemoNcrats continue to show that there is no crime too low for them to commit. They want Obama to win “by any means necessary“.
2) As disgusting as this fraud is, I am thankful that it is being exposed. Thank you, Jesus! Now, let’s move on to prosecuting and convicting the “helper” who stole his vote!

I wanted to reach out and touch his smiling face. What joy he brings!
Praise the Lord for His goodness.
Me, too, Trollman.
I am a huge fan of Governor Palin! I was privileged to take my four kids to see her today at Elon University in NC. We had so much fun..and Governor Palin was fabulous. Told the crowd today that she has a bumper sticker that says “My kid has more chromosomes than your kid”…
http://www.wral.com has some video of the rally, plus a one-on-one interview with Governor Palin and our lead anchor.
YES vickisoup! God is a merciful, loving Father.
Regardless of the outcome, it’s not that we do not suffer that God’s exsistance is made evident, it is how we suffer.

Sarah is who she is. There is a lot of Ronald Reagan’s personality in her.
Miss Cheryl, consider this. She could have her finger on The Button someday. Isn’t it a comfort to know that person with that power at her disposal would understand the gift of life and mercy.
I think all people voting for Obama are under a spell. They seem to be unthinking about what this guy is and what he stands for – let alone how corrupt he may be ergo, they are forced because they just do not know the extent of this brainwashing. IMHO of course.
I just had another thought.
When we first heard the term Compassionate Conservative, what we really thought it meant was what we see in Sarah Palin. It has nothing to dowith money and programs.
Awesome “punishment”!!!
Flyover – Sarah Palin, John McCain both have a wisdom that the other side just doesn’t. None of them are qualified to be president if we are judging by their experience, but if we are judging on maturity, wisdom, kindness and yes, mercy – I will go with these two hands down. I think we see in them a strength of character that hard times delivers. They face difficult times and not try to run from them. We need that now more than ever. I’m in total agreement with you.
Here is our miracle
Wow, just wow!
Our country deserves exactly what it gets come January 09.
The saddest thing of all is that the test that they do to determine if your baby has down syndrome can come out a “false positive”. So, the test says positive but there is a good chance it’s wrong. In the meantime, the baby is already aborted and it may have been perfectly normal.
I know this because I am 41 and had a baby last year. My doctor gave me the option to be tested for downs and explained the false positive. I ended up declining all tests because I would keep the baby no matter what so it really didn’t make sense to go through the test and the stress in waiting for the results. Fortunately she is perfect and so is my 12 year old who has quad Cerebral Palsy. People are so quick to throw away what is a little different. Unless it’s a kitten with 2 faces. What a screwed up world we live in.
Back at you miss!
Wow, soap, “Got boys?”

Awesome. Just awesome!
Vickisoup,
Got lotsa boys! Girls too. God’s gifts all. By liberal standards, they should all have been killed because – you know – they are almost all a product of rape and 100% were unwanted. I hate liberals.

So here it is:
1. the role of government – she believes that all too often, government is the problem, not the solution. Government should kick the terrorists’ butts and get off our backs.
2. taxation – low taxes are good. ’nuff said
3. national sovereignty – the woman guts her own moose, I think we can take that as a guarantee she isn’t going to ask Europe for permission to do what needs to be done.
4. a holistic foreign policy – stand by our allies, stick it to our enemies.
5. whether/how the Constitution is a “living” document – gonna go out on a limb here and guess she isn’t a fan of judges reading a right to abortion into the Constitution. She stands for traditional American values which actually are enshrined in the Constitution.
She isn’t a question mark on her core principles. She is who she is, which is why people either love or hate her.
Sarah is a class act. Very touching, and very real. Hankies all around.
I would take her as President right now.
I want to mobilize and start a Palin for President Committee right now, even if McCain/Palin win the election.
Let’s face it: If Palin is to be President in 2012, or 2016….you’ve gotta start now.
The Friends of Ronald Reagan formed a committee at least ten years before he ever took office. They saw something in him very early on, and worked to capitalize that through support, and those few Reagan friends mushroomed into a movement which propelled him to office.
Palin can’t do it alone, she can’t fight the biased Media all by herself, and now is the time to start.
Look at all the time Hillary wasted being coy, and then by the time she finally got to Iowa….it was all over.
I’d hate to see that happen with Palin.
Send_Me,
Watch this video from an interview today.
She sounds a lot like Ronald Reagan, who said:
She also shares with Reagan a strong faith in Jesus Christ, a Biblicly-based positive attitude, and an understanding of the harsh truths about godless Marxist-Leninists. I recommend you review this Reagan speech and realize that it could just as easily be delivered by Sarah Palin today.
Not much NBC can do to make THAT tremendous clip into a negative!
On October 17th, 2008 at 12:22 am, Send_Me said:
The people who have been praying for our country deserve Sarah Palin. And not Barack Obama.
Send_Me, BJ Clinton was elected in 1992 with less than 43% of the vote. Why? Because third party votes for Perot took the winning margin away from G.H.W. Bush. Do you really want to contribute to Obama’s cause?
I understand your “purist” stance. Really, I do. If McCain had picked a pro-choice VP, I would have given up on McCain. But we have, in Sarah, what I believe is a Ronald Reagan with two X chromosomes.
Get the scales off your eyes.
“Holistic” foreign policy? The Constitution a “living document”?
Thank God Palin hasn’t taken the time to embrace such New Age nostrums and profoundly anti-historical, anti-constitutional PAP.
Send_me is apparently unaware that among legal scholars (as opposed to politicians) this “living document” claim is utterly weak, and a recent construct of a Left that despises the principles this country was founded on.
You won’t find, for example, a scintilla of evidence in the Constitution or the Federalist Papers that “sharing the wealth” is a valid government role. Such a view runs afoul of basic ideas of Liberty and limited government.
So leftards have to come up with a justification for running roughshod over the Constitution and its principles. Voila! “Living document”, transmogrified to reflect…what we libs want!!
As for the other stuff, a sitting governor actually makes decisions about issues of sovereignty, taxaction, and the role of government every day. If send_me hasn’t understood how a conservative like Palin views such matters he need only learn for himself what her record is.
Instead he appears to expect that she take time to educate him.
How precious.
How utterly narcissistic.
We’ve gone from Plato’s Republic, the writings of Montesquieu, John Locke, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and others to this?
I don’t care if she can field dress a moose. I’m not looking for another hunting buddy. I want to know, does she understand the difference between policy and the tactical, operational, strategic levels of warfare as it relates to foreign policy and national power (diplomatic, information, military, and economic)? She has neither the training nor experience for this.
Foreign policy: who are our allies and why? We treat China awfully well for an enemy, for example. Does she believe in the “town square test” that was outlined in Natan Sharansky’s “The Case for Democracy”? Is she isolationist? Does she wish to spread democratic ideals around the world? If so, how? These aren’t gotcha questions. This is basic stuff.
Taxation: low taxes aren’t always good. The laffer curve plays a role here. What is the most just and revenue maximizing form of taxation, in her view? Is she opposed to the fair tax?
Funny you should mention abortion: she and her followers have failed pro-lifers here without even knowing it, by the mere fact that she addresses she and her daughter’s “tough” decisions to have their kids. They’ve acknowledged that there is a choice, hence ceding hegemony of this aspect of our culture to liberalism. (Antonio Gramsci’s theories of cultural hegemony are at work here.)
I have no doubt that she’s a “good person”, but I’d like to move past that and get to the meat of ideas.
ITookTheRedPill said:
Well, I wonder about Reagan’s faith (he wasn’t exactly a regular church goer). But Palin has a lot going for her.
The only real question I have about her is where she stands on illegal immigration. She has been silent on the topic.
A lot of people read into that that she must be pro-illegal immigration, but I think that is an unwise leap. Even if she is firmly opposed to illegal immigration, she has good reason to keep quiet about it until at least after the election (it could only stir up controversy within the ticket).
Given her no-nonsense, earthy conservatism in other views, I think she is unlikely to be pro-illegal immigration.
But even if she is, she couldn’t possibly be any worse on that issue than Obama or McCain, or, well, pretty much every other politician.
I like Tancredo, but does he really have the skill, talent, charisma, and persona to be an effective president? Did you watch him in the primary debates? Palin is simply the best we have right now, by a good margin.
Send_Me, I’m still waiting for you to answer my question. Do you know where Obama, Biden and McCain stand on all these? How about Ron Paul?
Ron Paul’s foreign policy is to have no foreign policy, for starters.
Do you have some video of him expounding on the other issues you raise, because I’d like to see it.
Send_Me, can you give a detailed answer about all of the things you mentioned in regards to Obama, McCain, or Biden? Or Bush, or Kerry, or Gore?
We don’t need someone who is an expert in everything, or in every minutiae of a very large government. By that standard, no one person is sufficiently qualified. What we need is strong leadership, judgment, things that can’t be taught. As President, she will be surrounded by experts who will know the details. We don’t need a micro-manager or a scholar, we need a leader with vision and common sense.

Having children is a choice these days, even for those of us who don’t even consider abortion – what with sex education, condoms, birth control, etc. Nothing I have heard her say has indicated that she ever considered an abortion. Her son Trig is one of the strongest forces against the abortion movement, period. But nice try.
Yes, as opposed to saying, “in this country, we should do ___.” I know I’m asking a lot, but I’d love for a politician from either of these two
majorworthless parties to share their systematic political philosophy and public policy ideals.Again, yes. The U.S. Constitution is a living document in that it can be changed by the Congress/States. Some do, yes, have the view that judges make it a “living” document through their interpretations. This is against the originalist views that I hold.
Sovereignty? I suppose I should give her credit: her state does a good job of keeping MS-13 out of their cities. Oh, wait, that’s not because of any immigration policy she’s espoused, but rather the pleasant Alaskan winters.
Yes, I have seen her views of the role of government as a governor: she sees a prosperous business, drilling for oil, in Alaska, and saw that it was her role to take some of their hard-earned profits and give it to everybody. I bet the guy on the oil derrick and the geologist working for the oil companies love that. Rather than giving the workers who actually find, drill, and send the oil to market any more of the profits, these companies have to give it to the every other citizen who has no rightful claim of that money. This is no different than if Texas took the profits of cattle ranchers and gave the money to everyone else in the state solely because they’re residents. This is “conservative” how?
