About 11 or 12 years ago, I was the foreman for a small blacktop company in Delaware. ( I still live in Delaware today) We paved good ole’ Joe the Senator’s driveway. At the time Joe explained he couldn’t afford it, so we worked out a payment plan. He was supposed to pay us 6k down then 1k a month for the next six months.
He paid the down payment (cost of materials) but Joe never made a single payment. After about 6 or 7 months, we finally got a lawyer and threatened to take him to court. He finally got his brother to pay us the money he owed. I don’t believe we ever got the interest we asked for.
Because of size of the company (about 5 of us) I never got my vacation pay that summer!
True story!
I ended my blacktop career in 99, but I’ll never forget this.

However, with Obama’s numbers dropping in the wake of Hurricane Joe, it wouldn’t surprise me to see them plant a mole-type email such as this, that the conservative blogger’s would latch onto, and then conveniently find out that ‘Joe Paver’ is a convicted felon who tried to stiff ‘poor working-guy’ Biden out of 6k (or something to that effect) thus making the Conservatives out to be the bad guys and taking any positive effect Joe ‘Plumber’ had and throwing it in the garbage.

Biden said no plumbers make $250,000 where he comes from. Maybe they have lots of blacktop to put down and prefer to support blacktoppers rather than plumbers.

Failure to provide the bailout, err…rescue, would have meant that the future pavement and landscaping projects around the Biden Estate would be in jeopardy and that’s not good for Delaware, the Country, or Michelle Obama’s children.

As a retired contractor I can tell you that this behavior is not exclusively a liberal trait. It is however the standard MO for the rich. I was never once screwed by the middle class. But it became such a normal expectation when dealing with the upper class, that we learned ways to assure that we got our final payment. Such as a chimney that just wouldn’t work right, and fill the home with smoke. Once we got our final payment, we would break the pane of glass we conveniently placed between the the top 2 flus and the chimney would suddenly work correctly.
Biden was lucky, I know a paver who didn’t wait 6 months. He would just show up at your house with a bulldozer, and a dumptruck, and remove the unpaid for driveway leaving you with a dirt hole where your driveway was when you left in the morning.
He pays for his train tickets with political contributions, can’t he just illegally use some of that for the driveway?

So how did Joe account for the payment by his brother? That would be income, wouldn’t it? And if so, and not reported as such, looks like Joe may be guilty of tax evasion. It’s all these little things that lead to the big questions.
