How much confidence is left in the voting process with stories like this:

Dead goldfish offered to vote in Illinois

The only "agent of change" Princess ever supported was the person who freshened the water in her fishbowl.

So election officials in Chicago's northern suburbs want to know why voter registration material was sent to the dead goldfish.

"I am just stunned at the level of people compromising the integrity of the voting process," said Lake County Clerk Willard Helander, a Republican, who said she has spotted problems with nearly 1,000 voter registrations this year.

Beth Nudelman, who owned the fish, said Princess may have landed on a mailing list because the family once filled in the pet's name when they got a second phone line for a computer.

Keep this in mind. In 2004, Ohio was very, very close in putting Bush over the top. Ohio has always been a key state in the election. In fact, it has been a very, very long time, if ever, since the candidate who won the election did not win Ohio. Ohio Sec'y of State Jennifer Brunner is a Democrat. Ohio has early voting. Sec'y Brunner allowed people to register and vote for the one week period when early voting was allowed and so was registering without requiring such ballots be provisional awaiting confirmation of the registrants as legitimate. Sec'y Brunner is refusing to provide information to the local elections boards to confirm the ID/registration of voters at the polls, etc.

Are you seeing a pattern here?

I, for one, will be doing my best to remind my fellow Ohioans of Ms Brunner's inappropriate actions when she is up for reelection.

Unbelievable ACORN report in the NYP:

Pushed to meet daily quotas and bullied by bosses if they didn't, Ohio ACORN workers faked voter registrations, signed up people more than once, and even paid off registrants to keep from being fired, its canvassers told The Post.

"Every day, there was pressure on us. Every single day," said Teshika Elder, a Cleveland single mom of three who worked for ACORN this summer.

"We had meetings every morning where they'd go over your quota; they'd yell at you if you were low," said Elder, 21. "They'd sit us down and say if you didn't do better, they'd suspend you. They'd say, 'Try harder next time,' [and] if you didn't get it, you'd be fired."

"It was just little stuff - a dollar, a cigarette - given to people so that they'd register," said Sanford, a former team leader.

The director also confirmed the ousted workers' quota claims: team leaders, who are paid $9 an hour, are required to get 26 registrations a day. Canvassers, who make $8 an hour, need 22 sign-ups.

I wonder how many ACORN types will jet around the country voting in multiple states as some Democrat voters did in the last two elections (NY and FL)?
