Hey, I’m a retired blogger now, and the best thing about retirement is that, rather than keeping up with the news, I get the chance to just settle back and read books now and then.
Books like, oh, say, “A Kind And Just Parent“, by William Ayers.
Pages 81-82 caught my eye:
Kind of cheeky of him to throw that in there, since Ayers’ neighbor, “writer Barack Obama” also blurbed and reviewed this same book. But that’s just what neighbors do for each other!

Well the police will make a referral to the city attorney-juvenile. Little excitement in the neighborhood–seems the young man has a few enemies here. His spiked hair and mouth do not serve him well.

As for your question, it was answered. Read the damn post at the top of this thread. Ayers and Obama are not just two people who happen to live in the same neighborhood, as you absurdly suggest.
Read the entire post. It discusses a little more than fact that Ayers and Obama are neighbors, which was already known.
But you’ll need to read it to find out what it says.
See-dubya it’s not that people demand ironclad proof of the Ayers connection, it’s just that I need multiple conformations. I do believe both those pathetic socialist, Obama and Ayers are connected in some way. I’m being careful, and before I arrive at a final judgement it would be beneficial to have a direct observation.
The rally for Obama was held in the city of St. Louis so they could pull from the black population in E. St. Louis, Illinois, North St. Louis (almost 100% black) and the city workers that are just about 100% democrat. This dosen’t include the homeless that Acorn rounded up for the rally.
One of these days the Democrats are going to nominate someone who can actually pass a background information check. Once again we’re saddled with some self righteous jerk who, if he wasn’t a government tool, couldn’t get a security clearance to read the documents he’s working with every day.
Please don’t give up folks. We have two weeks to go and I’ve seen may election turn in shorter time than that. Don’t waste your vote.
Please vote for McCain.

I forget the context, but isn’t this a practice some publication used to call “logrolling” where two writers would review each other’s books, both reviewed positively? They both nuzzle each other’s hind-quarters going “mum mum”.
That’s what McCain has been doing his entire political career. A politician who has strong value systems doesn’t need to compromise. Palin may be one of the few with true constitutional convictions.
I believe it will be dangerous for conservatives to post here after obama takes power. he will be able to track us, and make a list of the enemies of the people…

I just gave my college-age son, (who has never worked a real job for a day in his life), a quick call a while ago to check up on how things are going with him and if he is tracking politics as we near the election.
He made a comment that makes me very uncomfortable with his education – but I didnt get to follow up with him to see if I had misunderstood him.
Based on his answer, he may have just completely cut himself off from ANY future financial aid, car payments and insurance from me.
I think he is about to face the real world head on.

The Ayers’ connection doesn’t seem to be catching fire here is Arizona. Once since 1948 Arizona has gone Democrat–1996 Clinton beat Bob Dole.
Now the Party officials are worried John McCain will not carry Maricopa County by a big enough margin to cover the Obamanite sweep in the southern counties. McCain is causing an awful lot of Republicans to sit on their hands. The Senator knows how to Lose Friends and Alienate People, he knows it well. There has been an uptick in women coming back because of Governor Palin–But Beltway John pushes others away. He has been winning elections here since 1982 but now people are paying attention.
I HOPE they get over it by the fourth–hope and pray they do. But we have our own little Hyde Park over by Arizona State University-Tempe-Harry Mitchell (D) 5th District of Arizona. That could be the make or break for this state.
The world is changing. God Bless America except for the blue states and I hope Arizona isn’t one of them.

Ayers and his wife ARE a bomb …. ticking away in BO’s past, present, and future.
If it is also true that Ayers helped Obama write his first book and that Obama kicked off his political career in Ayers’ living room, then Ayers is the one who provided Obama with the initial fame and fortune he needed to get where he is today. So this is not just an example of a politician making errors, it’s a case of Ayers making a politician.
The RNC may not be as lame as I thought. This fact-filled BarackBook parody of Facebook is very well done indeed. All sorts of stuff in here about the fabulous and friendly Hyde Park neighborhood of the Obama, Khalidi, and Ayers-Dohrn families (to name a few) as well as many new names I am unfamiliar with (but not for long!).

I do not like this one bit. What goes around comes around. I think if Obama gets into office there will be a backlash and it could involve Ayers type radicals on the opposite side of the spectrum. This is not so good.
Speaking of “people in your neighborhood”, I was talking today with a friend who is a regular MM reader but is not registered to post comments. I’m posting this comment on her behalf.
She lives in Des Moines, IA, and within 24 hours of putting a McCain/Palin sign in her front yard, the sign was stolen and a large rock was thrown through her 5′x5′ picture window. It will cost about $1,000 to repair the window.

Noticed two glaring attacks on conservatives:
1) Brian asks Stewie why America didn’t go in and take out a nuclear development project in pre WWII Berlin. They answered in synch: “Because they didn’t have oil.”
2) Stewie puts on a NAZI uniform and says something is odd. Pulls up his lapel and there is a McCain-Palin button.

You must forgive me, for I do not remember the exact episode, but one episode of “The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron” on Nickelodeon had one of the characters, “Sheen” ,ake a derrogatory comment concerning the Republican Party and of someone or something being a member once. Wish I could be more specific, but they already have made it in.
Was not surprised about the Family Guy episode tonight. The character “Brian” the talking dog, is a portrayed as a screaming Liberal Democrat who drives a hybrid, put a gun to the head of the mayor and held him hostage to keep him from signing a law banning gay marriage etc.
“Stewie”, being a murderous Matricidinal megolomaniac, though, was a bit of a shock in that he was the one wearing the uniform and seemed to agree with the button being on the uniform.
Hoever, “Family Guy” tries to offend everyone and everything with as much malice as they possibly can. They don’t hold much back from anyone.

My first paragraph was without reading the article. I have read through most of it and I have a re-draft.. My Flesch Reading Ease Score (FRES) and Grade level has definitely changed. But the writer is correct. Its hard (at least for me) to tailor the wording to get a similar score.
The writer did say he selected certain passages to compare though.

After having read Obama’s “Dreams of my Fathers” and the short blurb by Ayers, I have to admit I have some suspicions that Ayers may in fact have “ghost wrote” some of that book. Authors put a “fingerprint” on their writing, and I have to tell you there is something about the turn of a phrase in Ayers’ book that sounds very familiar to the over all style of Obama’s book.
Based on the time it took me to craft my paragraph and then assuming it to take as long to write a compete book,
I have estimated for a 300 page book at 8 hours per day of continual writing and shaping – it will be 337 DAYS to finish it.
I thinking I may want to keep my day job… oh wait!!!! Im not getting paid to write on here as it is, hmmmm
