I remember Clinton’s first 90 days in office. He came into town like gangbusters and fell flat on his face with his gays in the military initiative. His wife’s healthcare plan was the Titanic. This is Slick Willie, Der Schlickmeister, none better. Obama is not weven in Bill’s league.

Look at Clinton’s major accomplishments; all delivered in a package by Newt’s Republican majority. Until the 1994 elections swept the Dems out of the House everything was a disaster.

I have every confidence if they get in the Dems will do a Wile E. Coyote and the Acme bomb is going to explode in their faces.

They are arrogant and ridiculously overconfident. Their ability to do anything does not impress me in the least. I have seen them since the 60’s. They are all show and no go.

    Steady as you go.

Lots of talk on Rush, Malzberg and Levin today about the attempt by the libs to bring back ‘The Fairness Doctrine’ if the Zero wins. The virtual end to talk radio and the internet, our only media source to real world out there.Things are looking worse everyday.

I look at McCain with nothing but disdain, but I will vote for him, in hopes Palin can pound some sense in to his thick liberal head on these issues.

Yes, it is a LOTE vote, in reality most votes are, depends on how you look at it…rarely is there a(gulp)JFK or a Ron Reagan. but he is the only hope we have…there are no guarantees. I swore up and down on here when McCain was appointed the RNC primary winner I would not vote for him. The further this campaigning goes the more I do not want to see the Zero in Washington anywhere. If we don’t fight and vote we will fight in the end.

    I will not submit, EVER!!

I hope you’re right, but I believe in hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. So just in case the Fairness Doctrine is imposed upon the internet, I suggest this Plan B:

Start a pro-Obama blog, and make your first blog entry a rant against something that Michelle Malkin blogged about – only, make it fictional. They’ll never know the difference, so it’ll slide right under the radar – but we’ll know we’ve found the right place.

They now tour the world and help widows and the poor at home in Kiev. If they can overcome the most evil regimes in history, what we have to oppose is a cake walk.

These overstuffed elites in D.C. and on the coasts think they can have their way with us. Freedom, like life, always finds a way. It is like that pine that seems to grow out of solid rock on a Colorado Mountain.

Bill Ayers, Obama, and all these other social engineers have no idea how futile their efforts will be. No one ever has or will. God set us free. No person, no nation can ever really take it away. Not tomorrow, not ever.

I sat there looking at those people, free to express their love of God, finally, after so much.

I thought back to the Cold War days and my own experiences during it. I realized, those people are free because of us. Those people are free, because of Ronald Reagan’s refusal to back away from what he knew was right. We did a wonderful thing.

We stood up for freedom and in so doing we stod up for them. They are free, because we stood steadfast against evil. Evil cannot withstand strength.

Let’s remember that in the days ahead!

I am not well versed in the nuances of the Fairness Doctrine, but basically isnt it, that if a public network has one position then it must give equal time to the opposing position?

Simple enough. Everything moves to satellite or private networks. Or one person says they are a lib and the other a conservative, but a with a wink and a nod, then everyone else knows who to turn to.

The government does not want to go down the road of locking down the internet. That would be like spaying the Golden Goose – its still alive but aint nothing coming out.

The Case Against Senator Obama’s National CTO
    October 21, 2008 – 1:54 am PDT – by Mark ‘Rizzn’ Hopkins 40 Comments

I asked the question back in August, and I ask it again now: Why do we need a national CTO? BusinessWeek asks the question today, and everyone and their brother is rushing to weigh in on the answer. Even though pundits back in August erroneously attributed the idea of the creation of a national CTO to both candidates, it is only Senator Obama who’s called for the creation of a national CTO.

According to BusinessWeek, it appears to be mostly for the purposes of the creation of a nationalized broadband establishment, or at least that’s how they paint it. I’m uncertain if that’s simply the spin that BusinessWeek is putting on the story, or if that’s the actual intention of Obama’s promised cabinet appointment.

But Let’s Pretend For a Moment It Is All About Broadband
For years, already, the major telecommunications firms have been receiving major subsidies to wire up the world. In some instances where the telcos have performed as they have promised, it’s proven to be a boon to the economy. In most of the cases, though, the major telcos have taken the governmental subsidies and done very little to complete the work they were contracted for.

The first example that springs to mind is the case of AT&T and how they, as Slashdot put it, “Pillaged South Africa’s Economy.”

Already, the upstream media propagandizes for the socialists. They effectively prevent certain stories from being seen by the multitude of Americans who may not use the Internet as a source of information. If people don’t know about instances of oppression, that oppression will continue unabated.

So, what will become of free speech after the socialists implement their unconstitutional nonsense?

Seriously, what is the plan? It’s going to be easier to fight the oppression if we’re pro-active.

See, I just dont see a return to the fairness doctrine at all especially on the web. It could backfire on the Libs if they did it and I believe they realized it and that is why the talk died out. They realize they have far more to loose as they have a tight grip on the Old Media (and the polls show that the American people realize it). Not to mention could you imagine sites like KOS and DU having to allow equal time on their sites?

Hard to say. The Doctrine would most likely be updated to reflect todays society, so I’m sure a lot of avenues around it would be closed. However there would always be a way to wrap onto the framework in order to meet the letter of the law and avoid the spirit.

Before these idiots in congress screwed us over regarding the bailout, I would have said the Doctrine could not be put in place in this era. But since they are ignoring the will of the people, who knows what they can push through.

I dont think they could do it very fast, and if they do, the backlash at the 2010 election will be massive. As it is, the independants will realize within the next year that they shouldnt have been drinking the kool-aid.

Telling a toddler not to reach up and touch a hot stove is never as effective as letting them touch the red hot coil.

Here’s the deal with the (Un)Fairness Doctrine. It passes by wide majorities in the deep blue Congress and Our Lord and Savior signs it into law. Or His FCC reinstitutes it. Either way, it gets litigated all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

However, as Brian Anderson pointed out the other day in the NY Post, The Messiah plans on requiring an increased amount of local programming, which will cut into the syndicated national radio shows and He plans on creating community boards to monitor programming.

Now you can guess who will be on those boards. That’s right. Community organizers. Leftwing rabble-rousers. ACORN types. Willing to protest outside of radio stations and harass station management when it comes to license renewal, the period for which Obama wants to shorten from 8 years to 2.

End result? They don’t need the (Un)Fairness Doctrine to get rid of El Rushbo. Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other national shows will be dumped, as will (here in Wisconsin) local conservative shows such as Charlie Sykes and Mark Belling.

In their place will be home and garden shows, entertainment, local yakkers who host shows where people call in with puppies for sale or to swap recipes.

Socialized broadband will extend this to the Internet.

I have a blogger acquaintance who maintains that Limbaugh, Hannity, et al. belong on Sirius or XM anyway, like Howard Stern, that those who want to listen to them should be forced to pay for it.

El Rushbo probably won’t lose his influence if he were on Sirius or XM, but losing local talk show hosts would hurt. In southeast Wisconsin, hosts such as Charlie Sykes and Mark Belling are the counter to the liberal lapdogs at the Milwaukee Journal or the Wisconsin State Journal who do nothing but advance the liberal agenda.
