CNN tries to depress the vote again

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 22, 2008 06:42 PM

Caution: Obamedia at work.

I’m waiting for a connection at the Atlanta airport, where CNN is inescapable.

On every TV, a CNN caption is ubiquitous: “PALIN AS DRAG ON MCCAIN.”

Reality check:

Thousands of people keep turning up to her rallies across America. The common sentiment? She continues to energize the base. She’s the reason voters are turning up and turning out. Grass-roots activists are dispirited by McCain, but buoyed by Sarah’s boundless optimism and willingness to fight.

Never mind. CNN will keep drumming its Ministry of Truth messages to solidify the MSM narrative.

“PALIN AS DRAG ON MCCAIN.”
“PALIN AS DRAG ON MCCAIN.”
“PALIN AS DRAG ON MCCAIN.”
“PALIN AS DRAG ON MCCAIN.”
“PALIN AS DRAG ON MCCAIN.”
“PALIN AS DRAG ON MCCAIN.”

Meanwhile, Joe Biden is imploding.

BTW, in spite of CNN, I early voted and was comfortable with choosing Sarah Palin; McCain, not so much; Most of the MSM and the pundits are known to be in the tank for Obama, and so they are all the time spinning, spin just being another word for lie, like when most politicians open their mouth to talk; If you reject an Obama administration, then it is vitally important to get out and vote and let the chips fall where they may; An Obama administration won’t just be a slippery slope, it will be a free fall du jour; On a side note for post election, remember those Republicans in the Senate and House that voted against the bailout; Most are fiscally and constitutionally conservative to the core; If the GOP doesn’t rally around them as their base, plan on looking elsewhere for a party, because the GOP will be toast.

Gov. Palin finally talked about immigration today.

    Univision Interview

Governor, let me ask you about immigration. How many undocumented immigrants are there in Alaska?
    I don’t know, I don’t know. That’s a good question.

As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that’s not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They’ve got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

I don’t make comparisons to Hitler lightly… but the signs are all too clear.

And I’m not saying the Republicans have all the answers. Change is indeed needed. And we need to come together as a people and a country to bring it about. But open your eyes to Obama and what he really represents. Hitler charmed a country and caused millions to lose their souls once they could no longer think for themselves. Step back and look at what is happening.

I thank God that like in that day, some today recognize Fascism and are ready and willing to fight against it.

The only ones alienated by Sarah Palin are the foolish and gullible who can’t tell the difference between a Saturday Night Live caricature and the real thing. These morons would have been tricked by the Media into voting for Obama no matter who McCain had selected for his running mate.

It has been the modus operandi of the MSM for many years now to create a negative caricature of a Republican that only superficially resembles the real candidate. It is then easy for them to use this negative caricature as a straw man that they can attack and tear down during the weeks before the election. But it is not the real person they are attacking, it is the false caricature.

They have done this many times before. It worked well against Ford and Quail but not so well with Reagan. Believe me, they would have attempted this deceptive practice against anyone McCain had chosen to be his Vice President.

It works particularly well against Sarah Palin because Tina Fey’s uncanny resemblance makes the image stick in our minds, and a lot of people saw the Saturday Night Live version before they had a chance to get to know the real Sarah Palin. I guarantee you there are many who believe that Sarah actually said, “And I can see Russia from my house.”

The MSM knowingly reinforces this dumbed down, Alaskan hick image of Sarah in their reporting, and then they attack the false image they helped create. It’s calculated, and it’s working. Even some of the supposedly smart Republicans at NRO have been completely fooled by this ruse. And Peggy Noonan described Palin’s candidacy as “the symptom and expression of a new vulgarization in American politics.”

The leftist media have used this dishonest straw man ploy so often in the past that I’m surprised we’re still being fooled by it. We should be immune to it by now. Instead, we let it fool us one more time. With such a short collective memory are we even capable of learning from history?

I don’t think either political party has the answers. They’re up to their necks in this financial mess. Sole blame doesn’t rest with Pres. Bush. That is simply the Dems exploiting a “crisis” to get power.

We will never come together as a country. We have many sub groups that don’t identify with America unless they can reshape it in their image. There are folks that are so reliant on big government/big labor now that they feel the only voice for them are the Dems.

The country is not only “balkanized” as Dems think it is, it’s fragmented. We’re no longer teaching our kids to respect or have a vested interest in our country unless it benefits them. We have folks who want to remake America into a globalized do-gooder who can address every wrong to the extent that we should welcome any third worlder who comes along (even if our resources cannot support them).

On the surface, the Hitler analogy offends certain liberals’ sensibilities. However, isn’t it interesting that many Obummer supporters don’t know what he’ll do or what he even stands for/has accomplished? Obummer has run a campaign on personality and charm and that will eventually fade and he’ll have to be a leader. It’s often harder to be leader than affecting crushes on one’s supporters.

    You got that right, PapaLouie.

The weak minded ones are those who have been swayed by Big Media.

Where ya been, girl? Nice to see you back!

CNN – wrong again. If it were not for Palin, McCain’s numbers would be in the 1’s. The polls would look like and football score with one team being trounced:

    Obama 70 – McCain 10

With Palin it is about 40 – 40.

Leave it to CNN to try and sway all thirty of their viewers though.

See Red Pill’s post number 50. After having read ALL 67 pages of this, I am horrified to think that it is true!! I am in sales, and knew obambi was a pro, but trance-state tactics? This man is dangerous on so many levels.

I also read that entire document. And it confirmed my suspicions of Obama. I started to read it with a skeptical mind, but once through it I am more convinced than ever that this election is the event horizon of this Republic.

Obama is a charlatan..a mesmer.. and a false prophet. There, I said it.

Red Pill, thanks for posting that doc. I have a question, is it possible Obama learned these techniques at Columbia, and that is why those records have not been released?

Sorry for the off-topic post. I had hoped that by writing this, the sinking feeling and nausea I feel about the future of this country would be somewhat alleviated. I was wrong.
