Photo of the day
A Naval officer e-mails today’s photo of the day and writes: “I obviously can’t speak for all the troops, but I can definitely speak for one – I am a Naval officer currently deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom…The Taliban and al Qaeda don’t scare me nearly as bad as this election does…We’ll take care of things over here, but we’re counting on you and others like you to fight the fight back home, even after the election, whichever way it goes. Hang in there. We appreciate everything you do.”
We appreciate everything you do.

Thanks Soap. The reason the donks don’t care is twofold:
1. Military personnel and families tend to be strongly conservative. Donks know this and it makes them seethe with anger.
2. Military personnel (by and large, there are always exceptions) don’t see themselves as perpetual victims and as such, they aren’t a group that can be exploited for liberal gain.
I was wondering what the purpose of Politico’s scoop and The Huffington Post’s followup was, then I found it in paragraphs 11 and 12:
It’s payback for scrutiny that Democrats didn’t appreciate in the past. I’ve noticed this “payback” vibe in the lib media before.
Also, paragraph #13 raises a liberal red flag for me. On its face, it sounds fair and unbiased. But upon further review, it appears “Clintonesque” and doesn’t explain anything:
Does this mean that Obama’s clothing bill is much less than the RNC’s, or could it mean that Obama’s clothing bill might be three times as much?
In other words, why didn’t Politico just report what Obama’s clothing bill is, instead of mysteriously describing the two as dissimilar?
Without researching the subject, I have noticed that Team Obama puts as much effort into Barack’s wardrobe as they do with the American flag motifs behind him in his photographic shots. I also noticed this summer that Michelle Obama’s designer wardrobe became the forefront of her persona, to the point of endless magazines describing her as the next “Jackie Kennedy.”
So there is an actual price tag for Team Obama’s fashion efforts as well.
Information request for Politico and the Huffington Post – What is it?
chapoutier in his crotch less chaps would be “fierce”!
Our loins are girded in the homeland. We will win this war in the last battle on Nov. 4
I love how liberals pummel Palin as being out of touch with the “common folk” while their new “king” and “queen” are so in touch with real Americans. Isn’t it interesting that if Americans really dug into Obummer’s background and saw how very anti-2nd ammendment and pro-abortion he is, they wouldn’t touch him with a ten foot pole.
I love how liberals and Dems bring out their “love” for the troops during election time when during the rest of the years they’ve been in office, they’ve derided the troops and made life difficult for military families in particular through not only discrimination but treasonous behavior.
Oh, yeah, the Obummer’s send their precious “burdens” to private school while Palin takes her kids with her on the campaign trail which, I guess, makes her a terrible mother.
Yes, I get it. No double standards at all I guess.
Great pic.
My bf in Iraq, and those around him, probably aren’t going to get to vote. That’s typical. He didn’t get to vote on his last deployment either.
And, there’s a battleground state involved. It’s okay because this state doesn’t like to count the military votes anyway.
No, having thoughts not approved by femistists makes her an unfit mother. Plenty of people travel with thier kids for thier jobs and the kids still get educated. Ask the UN, they PAY for the kids of thier employees to be educated when they travel with thier families.
Back in the day, when Reagan was running for reelection, we all went downtown IN UNIFORM to wave our Reagan signs at his motorcade. I believe the Hatch Act has since not allowed military in uniform to show support for political candidates in uniform, on duty, or on a military installation. I consider that stifling free speech. But, I love the guys that put that sticker on their vehicle, even if it meant they could get in trouble. God bless all of our protectors in uniform. Liberals can talk about how much they “love” our troops, but their actions speak louder than words. The truth is, most liberals “loathe” everything military. Four years of McCain is far better than 1 day of the crapmeister.
Latest poll I saw 68% for McCain in the military.
Correct.
If my kids were the targets of such blind hatred by Obama supporters and MSM smears, I would have them with me 24/7 too. I’m sure a tutor could handle their schooling for the < 3 months they will be on the road.
And I agree with an earlier poster. First thing I thought when I saw the photo was what’s the point? Looked like a kid carrying her mom’s purse. So I fail to see the big deal. Even if it is her daughter’s purse, all I can think of is ‘Obama supporters see that purse as something they can take from you to give to someone else’.
Whoa sir! Testy about those poll numbers? Since I have kids, I think I can say with certainty that during the school year the kids need all the sleep they can get. Sarah herself admits she uses the little tikes as props.
Keep the bumper numbers off of this photo – you never know what an Obama administration might do to these guys…
As has Obama your god. What gives you the right to call any perant bad??? Is this what we can expect????? Politicaly based peranting?
This crap is why I can never ever support socialist marxist Obama the fraud.
AWESOME!!!!!!!
There will be a witch hunt to find that Hummer and have the sticker removed. And Murtha will DEMAND the driver be brought up on charges!
the military votes 68% mccain to 23% obama because they have to take the orders to go fight and die for this guys causes. we have heard for 6 years about iraq and bush lied, yet military reenlistment is very high. we will see if that happens should obama get elected. maybe the nation of islam can enlist en masse to fight the foes of obama?
Looking at the photo and shadows around the decal, it appears to have been taped there temporarily. As has been stated before, with the unit and vehicle numbers blanked out (and no discernible background), it will be hard to pinpoint this M1151 if anyone is dumb enough to try.
I don’t even hear about this on Fox, I would think it was a big McAmnesty selling point.
I looked at the picture of the Palin daughter and my wife has that same handbag. I guarantee it is not a $600 handbag. I think my wife got it at Ross or Target or Walmart for $9.99.
Libs just can’t stop imagining stuff up. I can’t believe how stupid people are to see such a picture and assume somebody gave a kid an expensive designer bag.
These leftists idiots claim to recognize a Louis Vutton handbag from a bad picture but they can’t recognize a Marxist after seeing him practically every day for a year. Go figure.
What Bill Ayers posted on his blog on September 10, 2008.
Great photo. Thanks for your service.
If you look close, it appears that the sticker was just taped on for easy removal after the pic was taken.
Murtha and Obama will insist on a witch hunt. They will strip troops from the front line to determine who violated the Hatch Act even it means letting the Taliban overrun Afghanistan and Al-Qaeda reclaim Iraq!
If they did it to Joe the Plumber they will do it to these troops!
Amen to that.
But Michelle, Navy is correct, you do have a positive impact on current affairs. His words reminded me of your old banner quote from Longfellow, “the pen became a clarion”. I thought that line fit you like a glove. Thanks for all you do.
I hope for his sake this officer’s name never gets released. Every wart and blemish of his life will be on the internet and his career as a Naval officer will be over.

I’ve a couple of observations relative to the photo of Piper: first, this could be, just as 31Bravo said, nothing more than a little girl carrying her mom’s handbag. I can’t tell you how often I’ve seen similar scenes at church and in the supermarket.
Secondly, do we know for a fact (not hearsay) that it is a genuine Louis Vuitton? Knock-offs – very convincing look-alikes – are all too common. In fact, the bag Piper is carrying looks very much like a good number of the bags I’ve seen carried by women in the supermarket. That photo isn’t definitive proof that the bag is the genuine article.
And if it was, so what? Go find something really important to get worked up about. Not what someone else spent on clothes.
It’s not like it was taxpayers’ money.
As for the original subject of this thread, this is to that Navy officer:
Thanks for all you do in the cause of freedom. We’ll try to watch your back here on the homefront.
God and his angels watch over you and yours, wherever this life takes you.
Dear Wayfaring Sranger, Love the sentiments. However, in using the word “try”, the indication is weak. How about instead, We WILL watch your backs here on the homefront!
I’d be willing to bet the IEDs Al-Qaeda plants are emblazoned with Obama-Biden stickers.
I’m sure the sticker was removed immediately after the pic was taken. Political stickers are bad. I do know of one vehicle over there that has several small cartoon stickers on it and another vehicle that has a stuffed animal attached to it. Goofy is sometimes okay. Sometimes. You have to know your situation.

I and mine are doing all we can (even with the major breadwinner out of work at the moment – he jokes that the timing is fortuitous; more time to make calls, write e-mails, etc.
) to give our troops (which include my nephew) a Commander in Chief they can trust and respect.
Military personnel–Active, Reserve, and Retired–know that the Republicans respect and appreciate us, whereas the Democrats do not.
They have a history of some of the most visceral hatred for this country and those who are sworn to protect it.
Dick Durbin stood on the floor of the Senate and called us “Nazis”. John Murtha calls us “murderers”. Harry Reid declared that we “lost the war” in Iraq. Patty Murray claimed “bin Laden builds day-care facilities…we haven’t done that”. Bubba Clinton loathed us except when he wagged-the-dog in the Balkans. John (Winter Soldier) Kerry accused us of “going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children”, and letting us know that: “You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
Obama’s input: The troops in Afghanistan “are just air raiding villages and killing civilians”
Since Vietnam, we’ve been subjected to pejorative scrutiny, epithets, and at best, viewed as a ‘necessary evil’.
Note to Democrats: The feeling is mutual.
