The increasingly erratic, super-gaffetastic Joe Biden

A heartbeat away…
My syndicated column today takes you through a tour of all the latest Joe Biden gaffes that aren’t getting replayed endlessly on the nightly news and comedy shows. I said yesterday that the McCain camp ought to toss the “erratic” label right back in Joe Biden’s face and defuse that rhetorical bomb. Right on cue, Team Obama has released a new ad called…”Erratic.”
Ball’s in your court, McCain. Or will it be left to Sarah again to strike back?

The increasingly erratic, super-gaffetastic Joe Biden

If the prospect of Joe Biden sitting a heartbeat away from the presidency doesn’t give you palpitations, you are not paying attention.
Hysterical Sarah Palin-bashers on the unhinged left and elitist right have dominated campaign press coverage and pop culture. They’ve ridiculed her family, her appearance, and her speech patterns. They’ve derided her character, her parenting skills, her readiness, and her intellect.
Meanwhile, the increasingly erratic, super-gaffetastic Joe Biden gets a pass. What does the guy have to do to earn the relentless scrutiny and merciless mockery he deserves? Answer: Wear high heels, shoot caribou, and change the “D” next to his name to an “R.”
Team Obama is hammering John McCain as “erratic” in the closing days of the election campaign. There are now 615,000 Google hits and counting using the search terms “erratic McCain.” Last week, the New York Times devoted an entire article to the Obama-Biden line of attack, titled “In Friendly Region, Biden Cites McCain as Erratic.”
Who’s erratic? Throughout the primary and general election cycles, Biden has lurched from attacking Obama as not-ready-for-primetime (“The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training,” September 2007) to ready-to-lead (“Barack Obama is ready. This is his time,” August 2008) and back again. This week, Biden warned America that an Obama victory would invite a dangerous global showdown between tyrants and the naïf Obama. “Mark my words,” Biden said Sunday at a Democratic fund-raiser. “It will not be six months [after the inauguration] before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy.” In a follow-up appearance, he told followers to brace for the worst and “gird your loins.”
Out of Biden’s mouth, this is called candor. Out of anyone else’s mouth, it would be “fear-mongering,” “negative campaigning,” and a “distraction.”
Tooting his own horn while vandalizing his running mate’s, Biden bragged: “I’ve forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know.” Yeah. Colleagues like that guy who had a mere 143 days of Senate experience before launching his presidential bid and choosing you to shore up his meager credibility, Joe.
In fact, Biden has spent the entire campaign questioning his running mate’s judgment. Last month, he mused out loud: “Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more than I am to be vice president of the United States of America…She is easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America and quite frankly it might have been a better pick than me.” Biden assailed the campaign’s position on clean coal, openly criticized the campaign’s idiotic ad attacking John McCain for not using e-mail, and warned the pro-gun control Obama that “if he tries to fool with my Beretta, he’s got a problem.”
Dan Quayle will have “POTATOE” etched on his gravestone. But how many times have late-night comedians and cable shows replayed the video of senior statesman and six-term Sen. Biden’s own spelling mishap last week while attacking John McCain’s economic plan?
“Look, John’s last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S.”
No, Joe. “D’-O-H” is a three-letter-word.
Nightly news shows still haven’t tired of replaying Sarah Palin’s infamous interview with Katie Couric. But how many times have they replayed Joe Biden’s botched interview with Couric last month – in which he cluelessly claimed: “When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.’”
Er, here’s what really happened: Roosevelt wasn’t president when the market crashed in 1929. As for appearing on TV, it was still in its infant stages and wasn’t available to the general public until at least ten years later.
During the lone VP debate earlier this month, the increasingly erratic, super-gaffetastic Joe Biden demonstrated more historical ignorance that Sarah Palin would never have been able to get away with: “Vice President Cheney’s been the most dangerous vice president we’ve had probably in American history,” Biden said. “He has the idea he doesn’t realize that Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States, that’s the executive — he works in the executive branch. He should understand that. Everyone should understand that.”
Article 1 of the Constitution defines the role of the legislative branch, not the executive branch. You would think someone who has served 36 years in government – the same someone who is quick to remind others of his high IQ and longtime Senate Judiciary Committee chairmanship – would know better.
Joe Biden’s erratic and gaffe-tastic behavior is the least of America’s worries. He’s worse than a blunderbuss. He’s an incurable narcissist with chronic diarrhea of the mouth. He’s a phony and a pretender who fashions himself a foreign policy expert, constitutional scholar, and wordly wise man. He’s a man who can’t control his impulses.
And he could be a heartbeat away. Now, back to your regularly scheduled Palin-says-“You Betcha” skit.

Home Depot’s biggest tool
Two things may help McCain win this election: Joe-the-plumbers question and Joe-the-running-mates mouth.
Even Dan Rather agrees…
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/mark-finkelstein/2008/10/21/guess-who-sees-msm-double-standard-bidens-latest-gaffe
WOW! Michelle. Awesome column. KUDOS!
I’d love to see this guy actually take an American history test. FDR on TV in 1929. LMAO!
That’s funny, considering the amount of blog space this website gave to “silky pony” John Edwards and his $400 haircut, I would think there would be equal “outrage” over the $150,000 wardrobe budget for Ms. Sarah Palin.
Please sniff and shrug and pretend now that this kind of news story is beneath you all. To paraphrase a well known adage, hypocrisy is the lubricant of this website. Good luck with that!
Just imagine if Joe Biden was a young Republican Senator named Dan Quayle – you couldn’t keep the gaffes off the front page – even if they had to twist what he actually said into gaffes.
I will also point out that the liberal definition of “intelligence” only measures how liberal someone is and has utterly nothing to do with their actual intelligence. This is why Jimmy Carter – who commanded a nuclear submarine (He never did, that’s another liberal myth) – was a genius and so much smarter than Ronald Reagan ever could be. The list of comparitive examples is endless.
Now Biden is being treated in the msm as some kind of genius, while Palin is another knuckle dragging right wingnut. Nothing new here. It’s the standard liberal template.
America – and the world, for that matter – needs real intelligence in the presidency. You don’t get that from the left.
Drop the puck and let Sarah take a slapshot!
Hairplug man will be the end of obama. Sarah palin should just put him down. Before he’ll claim to be the guy who created the internet oh wait that was another dimocrat tool that said that.
In a country more interested in Freedom a Joe Biden would be a non-issue. In a country more interested in freedom our choices would not be McCain-Obama.
Our Drive By media has done it’s Leftist work well. Many millions of our people will be voting for Obama-Biden without really knowing who those two are. Their records, associations, Obama’s racist-marxist book are all unknown to tens of millions.
We have some blogs, talk radio and maybe FoxNews but that is it. The big newspapers and Network news spread the contempt for President Bush and tar all the Republicans with the Democrats messing with the economy. McCain certainly doesn’t help. President Bush didn’t. Individual Republicans running around covering their own seat did not help.
But our biggest problem is we don’t have a strong voice to carry the message. For awhile we had Newt Gingrich but he fell apart.Perhaps it is to be. I do fear for my country, my children and grandchildren. As big a jerk as Biden is he is not our problem but a mere symptom of s soul sickness.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
And Silky Pony is not gone, too.
…and a useful idiot under the name “watershed” shows up.
Let’s do a simple test: Can you think for yourself?
And Silky Pony is
notnow gone, too.(need more coffee!).
watershed #5
And that has what to do with Senator Biden’s total lack of knowledge of history and how America works?
Apparently, Biden’s Botoxed forehead and continuous flume of gaffes has no bearing on the dullard electorate. Zogby reports that Barry Hussein Mohamed Steve Superman Obama has a double-digit lead. Personally, I don’t know why we go through all this election process? Simply declaring Obama King of the world, based on poll results, is fulfilling the will of the people. What people I have no freaking idea!
Also sarah wardrobe budget is a who care matter. She a lady she want to look nice. Silky just a prima adonna moron who hitting on girls while his wife has cancer. Talk about a major scumbag.
How did you get back in here?
The deck is stacked but McCain Palin will overcome it.
It’s Killin em and
I Love it!!!
McCain/Palin 08′
MM deliberately misleads and misrepresents Biden’s comments. Biden said Obama will be tested, which he certainly will. If the economic crisis is any indication, he will respond better than McCain.
Then there’s Palin, who knows nothing. She isn’t allowed to do press conferences. She spent $150,000 on clothes at Sachs. (If you’re keeping track, that’s more than Edwards paid for his haircut.).
He’s lost again 30. toolshed hasn’t a clue.
oh and right on cue the human spin machine lgm shows up….
Michelle has done a fantastic job listing all the stupid comments the “higher IQ than you” Biden has made. I wish it would matter to the Obamatrons. but it won’t.
In my neighborhood there are about 60 yards signs out. 58 of them are Obama. Mine and my neighbor’s are the only two McCain/Palin signs. He is a cult, and they are his followers.
Along with gaffes, Joe’s plagiarism is an issue.
Last night I was listening to the Jerry Doyle Show.
I can’t remember names but he has a book out now about the end of Israel.
He said that on last Thursday’s show he said the same thing almost word for word that Joe said about Obama being tested and girding loins.
Then on Sunday, Joe says it.
Coincidence?
Maybe
lgm no doubt has had a lobotomy.
I’m beginning to think ‘ol joe wants his buddy Johnny to win this election.
Michelle Malkin deliberately accurately presents Joe Biden’s comments. lgm deliberately distorts, misleads, and misrepresents Michelle Malkin’s comments.
Then there’s lgm’s outright lies.
Is it any wonder why we trust Michelle and not lgm????
Do you think the same is true if McCain wins the presidency? Do you think he will be tested? If no, why not?
What does that mean, exactly? Better in your liberal world might not mean the same thing in the real world… you know, where there are real consequences.
T
That’s means so much coming from you.
Obama refused to do townhalls. That hasn’t stopped you from slurping down the kool-aid, now has it?
The RNC spent $150,000 on her wardrobe and one of the places she purchased clothing from was Sak’s Fifth Avenue.
No doubt.
Michelle, seriously we don’t need to have a token libtard here.
calling you a liar is reason enough to dump this troll.
lgm, you make me sick.
$150,000 on women’s clothing – big deal.
I remember a post recently that listed room service Michelle O purchased which included but was not limited to caviar – so STHU
lest not forget Bidet not paying the Paver monies owed…..
pass Obidet….
Greek columns come to mind
paver money owed, msm…. *crickets*
trolls and libtards…. more *crickets*
OR Obama renigging on his campaign finance promise….it’s all about the money.
Those creepy ankle biters.
I totally agree. I wrote about my concerns about Biden on my blog a few weeks ago.
http://skilletfan.blogspot.com/2008/09/joe-biden-for-vp.html
Sorry for the shameless plug.
LGM. You do know what the word testing means, don’t you? Oh! I get it. Your one of those new educators that doesn’t want to damages your students self-esteem with the concept of testing.
The only practical measure either could take was to vote in the senate. Both voted exactly the same way. This makes Obama better than maccain HOW???
You have been schooled LGM, You are dismissed.
Lgm and watershed are both slave to obama. They want to be rewarded when he president but only get to be first in line of the reeducation camp casue they will be the quickest to be reprogramed.
“Call me if you need!”
Oh yeah, that’s much more effective than actually showing up in DC to do what his constituents supposedly elected for – look out for their bests interest.
Obama is a failure who can’t make a single decision without Axelrod and a host of focus groups to tell him when and how. He will not be elected, but had he been, he would have folded like a cheap suit when tested by the likes of Russia and Iran!
The best thing, LGM, is that you know this and are only highlighting Obama’s inexperience through your meager defenses of him, in order to bring home that message and goad us into enumerating how dangerous an Obama presidency would be to our security.
On occasions like this, it’s good to have a GOP plant like LGM around!
Better take a look at the battleground state polling. This race is over! The attacks on Biden and the desperate screams of Marxism and Communism have had a negative effect alright, but on McCain. So has his ludicrous pick of Sarah Palin who is now the biggest drag on his numbers. Our Republican Party had better retool for 2012.
Great column Michelle.
BTW where is Peggy Noonan on Biden?
Where is Hitchens, Buckley’s kid and that Parker person?
I presume that you will be staying home and withholding your vote, correct?
Thanks for the vote of confidence; however, this race is far from over.
JHSII:
Saying Obama will be tested does not mean Obama is not up to the challenge. It certainly does not mean he thinks McCain would do a better job. That’s the MM misrepresentation.
Misscheryl said:
The New York Post (same owner as Fox News) retracted that story. It had no basis in fact.
lgm – regardless of the caviar. Please do not try to present these turds as economically prudent. If you want to address the cost of clothing – those pretty, shinny suits of Obamas ain’t cheap so….again, STHU
I’ve posted this before, but in his exhaustive and very fair analysis of the 1988 race (”What It Takes”), Richard Ben Cramer admires Biden for his spunk, but says Biden’s tendency to exaggerate simply disqualifies him from the Presidency. Here’s a summary of Cramer’s assessment of Biden at brothersjudd.com:
He could have said he’s gaffetastic, but that’s not a word.
One last thing mm know the truth and is our friend. So leave her alone lgm and toolshed.

It does get old – mighty old – but he does serve a valid purpose in uniting us against the MSM and their double-standard attacks against Republicans, not to mention the manner in which he exposes the anti-American mindset of liberal professors!

BTW, say hello to Rove for me!
we don’t need to look far to see that DBN, we don’t need one in our midst. He’s been spewing his crap for years now, enough.
I Love Joe Biden, that’s a 3 letter word L.U.V. GRIN.
What he said was that Obama’s actions would be so unpopular that he would get very low apporval ratings. Thats pretty damn specific. What does he know that we don’t????
LGM how do you know how well Obama will do? he has never faced tough questioning in his entire life!!! Anytime anyone gets close to it they are called “racist” or a “distraction”. What do you even know about the guy? He admits to heavy drug use in his youth, something that liberals said disqualified bush as president a few years ago when they just SUSPECTED that. He chairs a commitee he never called together. He has zero experience in leadership besides charities. He never went to the war zones till he was forced to by republican preasure. The military does not support him. His own party knows so little about him that all they can do is repeat his talking points. His economic plan will have to be completely changed or he will bankrupt the country in 3 years. He lied about campagin funding and has direct ties to the “non-partisan” acorn group who are telling people to vote for him when the register them up to 72 times. His first sugestion when russia invaded geogria was to complain to the UN security council where russia has a veto. Every elected seat he has gotten up till now has been gotten by him destroying his oppnants, not by running against them. While in the senate, the single forgien policy stand he took, he GOT WRONG.
Obama the fraudulent candidate.
Hey sport! Do you remember your history? President Carter couldn’t get the American embassy hostages released until President Reagan was inaugurated. Iran feared a President of conviction. Obama is perceived to lack convictions. Got that?
I say please everyone eligible vote for Joe Biden for Senate. Not for Vice President. Lets keep Joe where he belongs, screwing up things for the citizens of Delaware.
Read my local RAG this AM… Front page how DEMS are way ahead in MAIL-IN BALLOTS… Do not let the MSM talk you into concession… Regardless of the headlines DO get to the POLLS on the 4th of November… Do not feel you have already lost, your vote is MOOT… That’s what they want you to think… Back to your column, great as usual MM… Full of thought and TRUTH… Amazing how MISS-SPEAKS are glossed over by MSM if you are DEM… POTATOE is still a story to MSM…
Folks. LGM is a math teacher. He can’t be fired from his job. He doesn’t understand that there are consequences for his actions. He is a perfect reminder of the lefts social attitude toward the human condition. He lives in a word of protected fantasy.
Mark my words, Obama will get us into a wider war. We will need the draft (democrats will be exempt of course).
I still want to know what Biden knows that makes him so sure that Obama will be “tested”.
God save us from these liberal fools. MM is right , but I don’t think McCain wants to hurt the Dumbocrats feelings .You have to remember he said that Obama is a nice guy.
Hard to stay away from the “Washington elite” when you spend more money in a month on clothing than most people will pay in their lifetime. Hard to be a working class, blue collar icon with those numbers. Again, that’s $150,000! On clothing!
Amazing, the amount of rationalization some here have in their arsenals, to be able to stomach that one.
Exactly! I use to admire Noonan, her speeches and columns, I thought, were wonderfully written – although I did find that some of her speech mannerisms and habit of closing her eyes when talking detract from her presentation’s overall message – but when she started negatively critiquing VP Palin for no other reason than to appeal to her new “friends” at MSNBC, I gave up on her.
Governor Palin has done more press conferences in the past few days than Senator Biden has done in the last month. Reading his comments here explains why.
Yes, Sen Biden often is the walking-talking definition of foot in mouth desease. Yes, the FDR, Constitution, and spelling comments were gaffes, but not so much the others. I would describe them more as idiotic. Presidents are tested everyday in ways both big, and small. And, if you did finish the quote when Sen Biden talked about Sen Obama being tested he continued and said something about Sen Obama’s spine.
As you described, the erratic nature of Sen Biden’s comments happened over a one year period. A little bit easier to take than doing it over the course of five days.
As for the ‘MSM’ doing, or not doing, what you think they should is whinning. This comment is about consistentcy, and I agree, I wish we (including myself) were more consistent. But, I have to go to FOX and MSNBC, your BLOG and HUFFPO, to get a full picture of what is happening out there. Yes, there are somethings that the ‘right’ addresses that the ‘left’ does not. And, vice versa.
The one thing the ‘left’ does not do is complain about what the ‘right’ is doing, or not doing. (Right and left meaning acknowledged media outlets and not anonymous individual bloggers.) Yes, they will each make fun of the others gaffes, which is not the same thing as complaining.
Yep, everyone has their own agenda, knocking the other guy when they can, and ignoring their guy, when he steps in it. (NOTE: I am not PC and use the masculine to include the feminine.)
Bottomline, I need you both (right and left) but I will not complain about either, just use what I can to more fully understand the issues.
and the msm and it’s cohorts in the obama camp think using campaign money to buy mrs palin a wardrobe appropriate to the campaign trail as say appropriate to alaska’s environment is inappropriate. every high profile job has REQUIREMENTS to dress appropriately and almost always has a clothing expense or allowance. i have spent tens of thousands of dollars of this companies money to buy clothing for my staff appropriate in my mind to this job. trust me, finding out why tony rezko would buy a worthless piece of land next to obama’s house, and then sell only a portion of it to obama making the remainder totally unuseable and worthless seems a far more likely area of graft and corruption. remember the 10 grand invested into tyson by mrs clinton, which turned into 100 grand, because the company could take any losses, while passing on any gains. very smooth way to bribe your governor, or your state senator.
All the clothes will be donated to charity, which is something we will all need in an Obama administration, so stop trying to distract from the fact that VP Palin is real, while Michelle Obama is a phony!
Someone please explain how sending Palin and other campaign spokesmen out to claim that parts of states or parts of America are more patriotic or are more “Real American” than others doesn’t lose more votes than it gains. Zogby polling shows McCain losing 3 points and Obama gaining 4 points just in the last four days. It’s not working! Now Palin still thinks the VP is in charge of the Senate.
Theres so much leftie spin here today I feel like I’m at a disco convention.
BTW, which presidential candidate is best friends with the country’s richest people, e.g., Oprah, Buffet, etc? Clue: it’s not the Republican.
#61 every high profile job has REQUIREMENTS to dress appropriately and almost always has a clothing expense or allowance
Does that apply to hair and makeup as well?
The RNC also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup through September after reporting no such costs in August.
Now, (ready?) explain why your “requirement” argument does NOT apply to John Edwards.
Don’t forget all the money going to him from Countries that hate us.
Hate to say this, but Obama was already tested when Russia invaded Georgia. Obama first played the “cant we all just get along” song which fell flat, so he and all his advisors came up with the brilliant plan of referring the issue to the UN Security Council for action. The only problem was Obama and all his advisors forgot that Russia has a veto on the Security Council as a permanent member. Meanwhile, McCain hit a home run by stating that the US would stand by Georgia and the Georgian people.
Buffet and Oprah and now Gen. Powell? How could they when they are the ones who are going to be taxed so heavily under Obama? Hard for our Conservative minds to understand. Must be more than money involved in their decision.
Obviously, somebody has no idea how much John Edwards spends on his clothes.
Seriously, who do you think are being turned off by her statements? Folks who didn’t intend to vote for the McCain/Paliln ticket anyway, is my best guess.
Using poll data to make a point doesn’t hold much weight around here. They are clearly slated to favor Dems. Besides, didn’t you say the race was over? My the continued discussion?
Now you understand why prior to the DNC Rush “pleaded” with Obama to select Biden. Joe is refreshingly consistent.
You cannot imagine how shocked out their socks the “teachers” down here in Dallas are now that they hear they will face layoffs due to mismanagement of the enormous tax revenues received by the Dallas ISD.
This is the end result of leftist control of institutions. Taxpayers are bilked out of billions, the promise is universal education. Sounds like a great idea, until you fail to adjust for a little thing called reality. THe DISD, like the LAUSD, now sees 50% of students fail to graduate. In the wake of complete failure, they simply decide they need more money. Not that they used the money they had incorrectly, tax rates are simply too low.
That’s a leftist idea of a successful program. Remember that lgm teaches math, a skill that Barak Obama does not think too highly of. Remember he refused to fund algebra programs with the Annenberg Challenge money, but did give grants to programs to raise the self-esteem of black students. Math doesn’t tend to do that unless you agree that 2+2 = whatever you want. LGM just may find himself out of job in the new world order, and since the private sector expects results, that may be a problem for him.
Maybe I’ve just been out of fashion for awhile, but I can understand why clothing of quality from Saks, etc. costs a lot more. I still haven’t figured out what you can get with a $400 haircut that is illegal except in Nevada.
.
I have to wonder whether Biden secretly, deep, deep down, wants Obama to lose, and if he’s trying to alert the American people, even sub-consciously. NAH… But I also doubt the Obamaniacs are even listening. Israel will have to act if Obama wins.
Whatever happens, the Left will still try to blame Bush and the GOP.

Oh, so you’re questioning Obamas tax plan too – how insightful of you. D’oh
Look, the RNC has painted themselves, and by extension, you commenters, into a corner. You can’t claim to be the party of the working class, mock someones elitist haircuts, and then have a $150,000 clothing budget.
I think the schadenfreude of this is pretty wonderful. But seriously, shouldn’t you be appalled at this hypocrisy rather than trying to justify it? Maybe at this point, say, wow, they really screwed the pooch this time?
This is a no brainer. Buffet, Oprah, Powell, etc. have wealth, not income…. therein lies the difference.
People with wealth live off investment income taxed at 15%, the capital gains rate. Those with income are taxed at the 36-39% rate. The “wealthy” (better term than rich) could give a rat’s rear what the income tax rate is.
Plus they can afford to shelter wealth in ways we who need the money to spend are unable to.
You are a victim of the old Democrat shell game. Obama is now work 4 million. Pelosi, Reid, Harkin, Schumer, Rangel, Frank, et. all are wealthy and can tax the socks of you and never feel hardly anything.
Hard for Liberals to understand.
Where can I get a bumper sticker like this?
SilverCat #39:
Those same exact polls that oversample the democrats by 20%? If we went by those polls we’d still be talking about President Gore and President Kerry.
There have been no attacks on Biden. Being honest about someone is not an attack.
There are no “desperate screams of Marxism and Communism”. Where do you get this stuff?
His brilliant pick of Governor Palin was what brought him back in the campaign. No drag there.
You use the liberal code words. Why should we believe that you’re a Republican and not a democrat plant?
Socialist egotist Obama in command, and should he fail, there’s Biden with an ego just as big waiting to take over. Great.
This is the same tactic that you libs tried with the “scandal” about Sarah owning a tanning bed. You all decried “how is she not elitist, she owns a tanning bed.” Well, the answer isn’t so much that you buy nice things for yourself. It’s not allowing those things to define you. Joe the plumber wants to own his own business. Does that make him less than an ordinary Joe? Of course not, does Sarah owning nice clothes make her elitist – not in the slightest. She doesn’t have to pretend in order to relate to Americans. It’s difficult to explain – you just know when someone is the real deal vs. when they are not.
I think “Joe the VP Candidate” better watch out for the Obama camp and the MSM, and make sure his house is in order.
Its not a gaffe unless the media labels it as such. Biden doesn’t gaffe, ‘That’s just good ol’ Joe bein Joe!’ and we all get to chuckle indulgently at our favorite uncle. It warms the heart.
I’ve noticed that Joe usually has one of his ‘gaffes’ right after something bad happens to Obama(Joe the Plumber’s question for example). Its almost like they take the muzzle off of Biden for a few hours, really stupid statements come forth and the media narrative changes. We get something to talk about for a few days, the general public gets a chuckle at ‘good ol’ Joe’ and the election is a few days closer and the focus is away from Obama.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not but Christians didn’t turn away from Sarah when we found out that her daughter was pregnant and unmarried. This is no different. Buying nice things for yourself isn’t something that conservatives frown upon. Instead of trying to be a wisecrack, perhaps your time would be better spent actually trying to find out why conservatives think they way they do instead of trying to catch us with our proverbial pants down. Capice?

So your argument is “just because”. Got it. Great point.
(This is fun!)
I think it’s pretty obvious that no one here except you cares about that. Do you donate money to the RNC? If you do, take it up with them. If you do not, what’s it to you?
And Obama spent 800k in campaign contributions purchasing fraudulent voter registrations….
So what’s your point?????
Here’s a prediction:
If Obummer wins the election, Joe will be gone and replaced with either Hillary or Nancy.

Just pointing out hypocrisy, is all. Did you care about John Edwards $400 haircut? It certainly came up on this wesite quite often.
What happens if they win and he is wrong (Again) will he still be seen as the expert on foreign policy? And what if he’s right? I thought the only reason we were being attacked was because of policies of Pres. Bush.
It cracks me up every time Obama and Biden step in dog doo folks in the media and the troll libtards have to come out like fleas on a dog and “SPIN IT” to what “he really meant” uh, yeah right. lmao
It’s Killin em and
I Love it!!!
McCain/Palin 08′
If that is what you take away from my comment, so be it. What’s funny is that you came here with your liberal talking points and your chest puffed out and fell short. You came here with the idea that we’re hypocrites and you’ll leave with the same idea. Get real.
Schaudenfreude only applies if the ones being observed are unconfortable or suffering. In your case, I could safely say that we are not.
Your posts are consistent with the Democrat worldview of class-interest populism. Flyoverman has it exactly right.
I would still make fun of someone spending $400 for a haircut. That’s just funny stuff. Clothes vs. haircut… who’s the one grasping at straws here?
silvercat, buffet gives away his money so he doesn’t pay taxes, read his books. he gives it, along with gates, to causes he deems worthy, as opposed to causes obama deems worthy, takes a credit and pays no tax. go ahead, raise his rate, he will still pay no tax. the super rich hire VERY expensive people to keep them from paying taxes. oprah and powell have ideological and racial reasons for their support, mostly racial. oprah by her own admission started supporting obama because he was black, and powell has never supported any white liberal, so what are we left to believe? don’t confuse the rates of the super rich with where the tax revenue comes from, look at a tax book #1040 and see the rates and when they kick in. it is no accident that the largest gap between rates hits the working family. so the working poor(below 23k) pay 0 or 10% depending on if obama rolls back the bush tax cut. below 72k gets 10% or 15% if rollback occurs. BETWEEN 72K AN 137K FOR A FAMILY THE RATE JUMPS 10% WHEREAS IT GOES UP 3% OR 4% ON EACH OF THE SUCCESSIVE BRACKET JUMPS (28% TO 207K, 33% TO 365K, 35% OVER 365K) you can’t tax the rich and make a budget, so all you math challenged liberals better look to your pay stubs. bush lowered the working poors tax to 0%, not clinton. bush lowered the lowest tax bracket from 15% to 10% (a 33% decrease) but every higher bracket recieved a smaller decrease so at the top, they had a 38 to 35% or 3 point over 35point (9 – 10%) decrease. so when you hear your good liberal congress saying they are going to roll back the bush tax cuts, the rich say yeah baby, tax those deadbeats who use the majority of our gov’t services and pay nothing in taxes.
So “People with wealth live off investment income taxed at 15%, the capital gains rate”. Then if McCain would propose lowering the capital gains tax rate to 5%, Oprah, Buffet, Powell etc would then be more likely to back McCain? Nice try, but unfortunately there’s more involved than money in their decisions. They actually want what’s best for all Americans.
