Yes, the discredited and debunked Duke lacrosse accuser’s got a new book out.
Yes, she still believes she was a rape victim.

Crystal Mangum, the woman that rattled Duke University in 2006 after accusing three lacrosse players of rape, made her first public appearance on Thursday with a memoir in which she insists she really was raped by the players.
Crystal Gail Mangum held a news conference at the Know Bookstore to promote, “The Last Dance for Grace: The Crystal Mangum Story.”
Magnum said she is “looking forward to opening old wounds,” but wants people to know her side of the story.
“Even as I try to move on with my life, I still find it necessary to take one more stand and fight,” she writes in the book, “The Last Dance for Grace: The Crystal Mangum Story.”
“I want to assert, without equivocation, that I was assaulted. Make of that what you will. You will decide what that means to you because the state of North Carolina saw fit not to look at all that happened the night I became infamous.”
Jim Cooney, who represented player Reade Seligmann in the criminal case, said attorneys would review the contents of the book.
“For 2 1/2 years, this woman has attempted to destroy Reade’s life,” Cooney said. “We aim to put a stop to it.”
Magnum accused former Duke University lacrosse players Reade Seligmann, Colin Finnerty, and Dave Evans of brutally beating, strangling, raping, and sodomizing her in March 2006.
Mangum was hired as a stripper the night the incident happened in March 2006. After a long court case, the state attorney general’s office concluded that there was no credible evidence to prove an attack had occurred.

Rush mentioned yesterday that this is “book” is a deliberately timed PR stategy by the Obama forces to try and foment White Guilt and rev up their base just prior to the election.

Like all of you, I think this lady is making it impossible for real victims to feel secure in stepping forward; aside from that, I couldn’t care less about her book/-deal – and neither will readers!
Yes – it’s like the boy who cried wolf. In this case, the cries of “rape!” (like liberals playing the “racist!” or “bigot!” cards constantly) means people are going to take it less seriously the next time someone claims to be assaulted.
Need even more proof? Think about the next time a wife goes missing – everyone who’s honest will be thinking, “The husband did it”, because – even if he’s really innocent – that’s our experience.
Perception = reality. If people lie about things like racist incidents, assaults, or such…we’re going to think that’s the norm and doubt those who are really telling the truth.

Crystal has done more to damage race relations, and rape victims than anyone else has done in the last 25 years.
For every guy that has been falsely accused of a sex crime that they didn’t commit, people don’t forget and its always hovering over you.
I have worked with a several guys when I was in the Navy that were accused by a certain nurse and every time they were exhonerated. But sadly, she would occasionally remind them of the incident and do it without any repercussions. Fortunately these guys did the right thing, avoided her at all costs and she met her match when she falsely accused the wrong HM2 of sexual misconduct.
Lets just say he made it very clear that he would bring her up her past false accusations (9 of them in that clinic alone) and would be going after her nursing license for violation of VA code of ethics. Subsequently she retired within 2 years, didn’t do any female standbys for the MD/PA/FNP, and was left to do only paperwork rather than work in patient care.
The Duke LAX case showed vividly what guys potentially face when a woman points a finger and yells “rape”. Take a look at the number of men who have been exhonerated by the Innocence Project because of people like Crystal and Nifong.
Sadly there was more DNA evidence to convict OJ for murder than there was to convict any member of the Duke LAX team for rape.
If she comes to Memphis, I plan on being there for her book signing and asking the questions that finally people are starting to ask. Who knows it might just make it to Youtube!
My sincerest hope is that the Duke LAX team files a civil suit against her, and that they file a criminal complaint against her as well. Crystal needs to be taught a lesson since this is the second time she has falsely accused guys of a false rape.

Which is exactly my point. A person is smart and can consume media critically. People as a group tend to lose some of that ability and perceive things differently.

While this woman was tying up police time, prosecutor resources, and media attention (not to mention putting innocent people through absolute hell) – how many actual rapes took place and were either ignored or given lower priority? How many actual rapists got off the hook because Crystal Magnum had to perpetuate a lie?

The “Crystal” in her name may refer to one of her favorite drugs! It quickly became obvious that her story was so disjointed that she was on drugs or booze–or crazy–take your pick. The impartial taxicab driver, an ATM video, and one of her sister “exotic dancer” (aka hooker) friends told much different stories about the few hours after this sordid incident.
The poor judgment of the Duke Lacross team members and others was obvious– people can do stupid things. If they had not “stiffed” her by not paying her there would probably have not been any false police report.
The worst part of the incident was the rush to judgment by Duke University, the LWM (aka MSM), and prosecutor Nifong–even when it became evident to any impartial viewer that the accusations were unbelievable. No consideration of the white guys possible innocence was allowed.
It was good to see Nifong get his buckwheats–he knew right away that no jury would convict in this case. He stonewalled for a year or more and won his reelection campaign by his actions.
I hope Crystal gets her buckwheats soon. It will look bad for her in the future when her children read her book. I would hate to be her medical insurer–this is a very careless woman–STD’s anyone?

Mister P demonstrates that, while ignorance can be cured, stupid is forever. There is not a scintilla of evidence that these boys touched the girl. I hope the boys learned their lesson about hiring strippers. But, these boys did not touch this girl. Nifong knew it when he filed the case and hid the evidence that would have exonerated these boys for a year.
The girl is a whack-job, the boys were stupid and irresponsible and may even be twits born with silver spoons in their mouths but the only criminal here was Mike Nifong. And all the evidence proves it or Mike Nifong would still be in office and one or more of these boys would be in jail and this girl’s book would have been published by a major publisher.

My favorite part of the book is when Mangum’s fairy baby’s momma’s momma’s best friend (godmother to you and me) came down from heaven and sprinkled pixie dust on a magical 40 oz of Old English so that when Mangum rubbed it, out popped the Genie Obama to give her three wishes.
Wish 1 – No mo’ ho’ing. She can take whatever money she needs from the more successful hos.
Wish 2 – No mo’ whitey.
Wish 3 didn’t happen because half of the genie disappeared….

I can see it now, she rises early around 2:30pm, cleans up the pools of fluids she’s laying in, smokes a bit o’ that chronic, washes it down with a little hair of the dog, takes the bus to her local polling place and finds out the election was two weeks ago.
But, she’ll still get poled many, many times that day.

No matter what the book says, it will likely be tough to win a libel suit against Mangum–there is no legal ‘proof’ that her allegations are false. The boys can try to show that she knew what she wrote was false, but they’ll run into the same problem you run into with any rape case, which is essentially ‘he said she said’.
As far as the grand strategy of this release, I’m with chap on this one–it will do Obama no good to bring back to the forefront something that likely would anger 90%+ of whites in the country. I don’t Obama at this point is concerned about picking up black votes–he needs to pick up working-class/middle-class white votes that are likely disgusted by Mangum.
Oh yes, please, can we talk about this incident some more? I don’t think we were inundated enough with the racist rantings of “that certain part” of the M U.S. l i m population.
America truly is a great country, where a perpetrator of fraud (a.k.a. victim) is excused from personal responsibilities, and not prosecuted for her fraudulent claims (out of compassion for her apparent mental illness), and is allowed, no, encouraged to profit from her crime.
The only positive thing to come out of her fantasy book, is that no one will be forced to buy it. Therefore, it is being written solely for “that certain part” of the U.S. population that adheres to the proposition that “whitey” is evil.
How will this book be marketed? Will it be listed under Fantasy, Fiction, or Non-fiction?
