WFTV Channel 9’s Barbara West puts increasingly erratic, super-gaffetastic Joe Biden on the hot seat over ACORN, voter fraud, and Barack Obama’s “Spread the wealth” comments.

The increasingly erratic, super-gaffetastic Biden was so upset that the campaign canceled an interview West’s station had scheduled with his wife, Jill. The Orlando Sentinel reports:
Why did Barack Obama’s campaign cancel a WFTV-Channel 9 interview with Jill Biden, wife of Sen. Joe Biden? The campaign cited “an unprofessional interview” WFTV’s Barbara West did Thursday with Joe Biden. In a statement Friday, Adrianne Marsh, Florida spokeswoman for Obama’s campaign, said the station, in talking with Sen. Biden, was “both combative and woefully uninformed about simple facts.” Marsh said West’s insistence that Obama was an organizer for ACORN was “100 percent false.” “In a line of questioning that would make Rush Limbaugh proud, West even went as far as to quote Karl Marx, a Communist icon, in a disturbing attempt to associate Barack Obama with socialism,” Marsh wrote. West said, “I think I asked him some pointed questions. . . . I don’t think I was rude or inconsiderate to him.”
She was completely professional and gracious.
But remember: Anything less than total sycophancy from the Obamedia is considered “combative.”

If we had journalists doing this type of job for the past 2 years, then maybe I would have confidence in the election of President Obama. Then again, if journalist were pushing this hard all along, Obama’s name probably wouldn’t even be on the ballot.

Wow. Who is this woman? That was one of the best interviews of a Democrat I have ever seen! These are the type of hardball questions conservatives have had to face for years while libs were tossed softballs so as to not hurt their feelings or expose their true agenda. How’s it feel Joe?

That’s the problem with the Odumbo campaign. They’re not used to being challenged on the truth of the matter at hand, so when someone actually does their job as a journalist, they’re considered “combative”?

I would have liked better followup from Ms. West on some of those questions, like confronting him about the 800k the Obama campaign paid to ACORN’s “get out the vote” arm, and hitting him harder on Obama’s blatantly redistributionist economic proposals. She let him bluster his way out of some questions where she really could have nailed him to the wall.
Watching that clip was like breathing in a good breath of fresh air. She was respectful and professional, and she asked some very pertinent questions that need to be answered. Oh that Ms. West could have been one of the moderators at one of the debates, I think Obama’s polling numbers would be very different right now.

Every president is tested? Hmmm…maybe. If you consider releasing hostages as a test during the Reagan transition, then yes, all presidents are tested.
She asked a series of tough, specific questions. That is what journalists are supposed to do.
She was polite yet firm, didn’t interrupt, and gave Biden time to answer her questions. There weren’t any “gotcha” trivia questions, they were straight forward and relevant.

How can he just say there is no connection and then just proceed on when everyone knows there is a connection. “I did not have sexual relations with that woman!”

WOW, that was some serious interview… I certainly hope BARBARA WEST has her financial house in order… After this one gets out among the so called JOURNALISTS in this country, her future cannot be very bright… However, it was not only the best interview I have seen of a major candidate in this election cycle, it is probably the only good interview…
She obviously didn’t get the memo…if you don’t ask the questions that BO campaign wants, you are out.

Wow, I can’t believe she asked those questions. It would have been more effective if she could have pulled out some specifics to combat Biden’s spin.
I’m not a fan of O’Reilly’s “body language” segments, but, geez, did Biden blink a lot during the interview, or what? The forehead vein almost popping out in mid-interview was also interesting.
Overall, his responses were textbook Democrat – condescending, mocking, insulting, and mostly wrong.
When all else fails, Blink alot like Nancy Pelosi and blaim everything on GWB.
Biden is so dumb that he could suffer massive brain damage and no one would know the difference. No offense to people with massive brain damage.

Barbara West makes this journalism school graduate proud. She asked tough questions that voters need the answers to. I have no idea what her politics are, but in my decade plus in local broadcast journalism, my co-workers have been just as tough and fair, regardless of their personal political beliefs. Unfortunately the same can’t be said of many of those in network news.

Barbara West did an excellent job on the questions. Joe Biden repeated the false talking points. No one listened–the dies (and votes) have been cast, and our country got “SNAKE EYES”.
Barack Obama is a Marxist / liberal / socialist democrat. His voting record in the Illinois legislature, the U.S. Senate (when he was present), and his mentors, despicable associates, and own words on video tell the real agenda. The democrats are on the glide path home now–no McCain miracle is going to occur. The new U.S.S.A. is going to get these “benefits” soon:
(1). Higher taxes on all making $42K a year or more.
(2). Big job losses as businesses lay off workers / shut down. Trashing of 401K retirement savings.
(3). Big cuts in the military and U.S. readiness–ala Jimmy Carter. Cut and Run.
(4). Higher energy taxes on gasoline, natural gas, electricity as the “greenie agenda” carbon taxes are passed on to us.
(5). Continued trashing of our Constitution when the liberal “Ruth Ginsburg” type Supreme Court and Federal Judges are appointed.
(6). More “Ponzi scheme” sure to go broke federal programs. Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are ticking time bombs now. The Community Reinvestment Act / mortgage bailouts are just opening acts. Wait until you see what’s coming next.
(7). Sending billions of our dollars to third world countries dictators to try to get them to like us.
(8). Unchecked illegal immigration / amnesty programs and their higher social costs on our country.
(9). Expansion of the abortion / infanticide policy. We will hit 50 million abortions soon–the same total as the number of people killed in WW2.
Change is coming–I hope we will survive the Messiah’s plans for our country.

Barbara West makes this journalist proud. She asked tough questions that voters need answers to. I don’t know Ms. West’s politics, and that’s how it should be. In my decade plus in local broadcast news, my co-workers have by and large been just as tough on all politicians, regardless of their personal political beliefs. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for many “journalists” working on the network level.
That interview with Slo Joe was priceless. Notice how he went from smirky Joe to snarky Joe and finally to snarling Joe? He couldn’t even muster a whimpering; “No mas”! At the very end he was so stricken that he was incapable of even a (typical) phony “you’re welcome” when she thanked him. Loved every second of this take-down of Slo Joe.

She didn’t follow up with anything! Why didn’t she ask him about the $800,000 the Obama campaign gave to Acorn?
Don’t get me wrong, this was a good start, but she was robotic, and didn’t challenge him with any facts to counter his answers, which made her appear unprepared for those responses.

Just went and voted this morning. Outside an Obama supporter asked me(in a thick accent) if I was voting for Obama. I told her that in America we are allowed to vote without having to reveal who we cast our vote for. She didn’t seem too please, so I took a picture of her with my cell phone.
Isn’t that the truth, fair and balanced my butt. Anyone notice Mr. Bill never offers negative political opinions about Odumbo must be pandering for the next 4 yrs if the ‘0′ wins.

I started watching, turned it off when it seemed he was getting the best of her, then went back after reading a few comments. I agree the questions were pointed, but he was able to spout all the BS rhetoric without any follow up from her.

Finally, some key and pointed questions. Biden, however, answered them with the stock answers. Barbara West has to be commended for even asking them in the face of the attacks on Joe the Plumber.
I think Joe was right when he said he was scared for America if Obama is elected. We will see changes that do tremendous damage to this country, its freedoms and its basic vitaliy.
Atheling this is it exactly, she should’ve known these would be his answers and been ready with something. Instead, he got to say what he wanted and made her look like a hack.

As mentioned by earlier posters, Obama and Biden cannot begin to handle an interview like the ones conservatives receive constantly in the MSM.
They have no real defense for their positions. Obama firmly and sincerely believes in “spreading the wealth.” Nothin inherently bad; that’s his position. Okay then defend it. They can’t. They have to accuse BUSH BUSH BUSH of really being the ones who “spread the wealth.”
In a word, they are wimps.
There is a lot more to Marxism than the quote she read. You’re not gonna pick up independent/moderate voters by convincing them that Obama is a Marxist or a socialist. Moreover, even if the democrats get 60 seats in the senate, people are ignoring the fact that there is a moderate, fiscally conservative faction of our party, including the “Blue Dogs”. The sky is not falling. Most voters can see through these scare tactics, but I’m sure Barbara West will soon be getting offers from FoxNews. Good for her, I guess.
BTW. This pollster has been pretty conservative, and McCain advertises on the site.

Every single interview of Sarah Palin by the mainstream media has been a hatchet job. From Couric, to Gibson, to Williams and to that nameless idiot on CNN who misquoted the National Review, all have been in the tank for obama.
I don’t mind tough questions of politicians as that is what keeps this country safe from the powerful. What I do mind is mean-spirited “gotcha” journalism that is designed to advocate for one political party by demeaning the opposition.
Let the questions be tough – that is the American way now – and I doubt “the One” will condescend to be questioned in anything other than the most fawning forum in the futhre.

Barbara West has been a reporter with WFTV in Orlando for 16 years. She is very respected in the Orlando area for being honest and researching her stories.
Joe Biden met up with a “fair” reporter and had no idea how to wiggle out of it. He should have fallen out of his chair to end the interview.
Oh you mean all of the Republican “moderates” who demanded a candidate like McCain and then when they got him they left him? Them?
Who wants or needs them? They share the same trait and it is not political. They are “elitists” who are upset one of their own is not the VP choice. They can have a nice life.
