Will the privacy champions come to Joe the Plumber’s defense?
There is something in the water in Ohio.
They’ve got a fraud-friendly Secretary of State, infestations of out-of-state students and Obama workers sabotaging electoral integrity, and now…government employees or accomplices thereof rifling through the records of Joe the Plumber immediately after the last presidential debate.
You’ll remember that a national media uproar ensued after it was discovered that State Department contractors had snooped through Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain’s passports. (Later, it turned out that the CEO of a company whose employee was involved in Passport-gate was a consultant to the Barack Obama campaign.)
Will the privacy champs come to Joe the Plumber’s defense?
The Columbus Dispatch reports:
Public records requested by The Dispatch disclose that information on Wurzelbacher’s driver’s license or his sport-utility vehicle was pulled from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles database three times shortly after the debate.
Information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.
It has not been determined who checked on Wurzelbacher, or why. Direct access to driver’s license and vehicle registration information from BMV computers is restricted to legitimate law enforcement and government business.
The paper characterizes a McCain spokesman as “attemping to portray” the breach as “politically motivated.”
Geez Louise. Is there any other reason such a breach would take place immediately after Wurzelbacher was mentioned in a national presidential debate?
Of course it’s politically motivated. The question is not whether. The question is who.
The attorney general’s office is investigating if the access of Wuzelbacher’s BMV information through the office’s Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway computer system was unauthorized, said spokeswoman Jennifer Brindisi.
“We’re trying to pinpoint where it came from,” she said. The investigation could become “criminal in nature,” she said. Brindisi would not identify the account that pulled the information on Oct. 16.
Records show it was a “test account” assigned to the information technology section of the attorney general’s office, said Department of Public Safety spokesman Thomas Hunter.
Brindisi later said investigators have confirmed that Wurzelbacher’s information was not accessed within the attorney general’s office. She declined to provide details. The office’s test accounts are shared with and used by other law enforcement-related agencies, she said.
On Oct. 17, BMV information on Wurzelbacher was obtained through an account used by the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency in Cleveland, records show.
Mary Denihan, spokeswoman for the county agency, said the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services contacted the agency today and requested an investigation of the access to Wurzelbacher’s information. Cuyahoga County court records do not show any child-support cases involving Wurzelbacher.
The State Highway Patrol, which administers the Law Enforcement Automated Data System in Ohio, asked Toledo police to explain why it pulled BMV information on Wurzelbacher within 48 hours of the debate, Hunter said.
After the State Department passport fiasco, heads rolled. Obama spokesman Bill Burton raged: “Our government’s duty is to protect the private information of the American people, not use it for political purposes.”
Are plumbers who oppose socialism exempt?

waterboard “trust me?” You’re a kid and I hardly think you are a success by anyone’s measure. Maybe someday though…

There is room for both public and private. Only your paranoia suggests there isnt.

Try as you may, I am not belittled by your condescension. But keep it up! Its adorable. (Plus, I am much older than you think I am.)
watershed
SOOOOOOO there is a limit to government. Especially in YOUR field.

I suggest you hang out here more often, you may learn something, but yes, you are a child and though I wouldn’t go so far as to say you are “adorable,” I will say you are entertaining in an irrelevant sort of way..carry on waterboard if you must. The internet is a great place for those kids who don’t like to be seen and not heard.

Again, the condescension thing doesn’t really work on me. But thanks! I will.

Hey waterboard: It was Janet Reno who pulled a Ruby Ridge.
Just music, no history, civics, math, logic, reading riting, riting reading?

Future President Obama wanted to kill 25 million people? Gak!! This is news to me! No wonder he’s losi- wait a minute!

Why not let the government do it all?
#300
The condescension thing doesnt really work on me, like I said. Wanna discuss issues, or just keep trying to get a gotcha?
How about trying something about how public schools are the bane of American existance. You know, something cuckoo.
#302
Again, it doesnt work that way. In the fantasy land in your head, maybe your argument has merit. But that’s not how it works in reality.
Sorry, Im late to the party again – Ive been too busy snowboarding today
Sweet!!!!
Gentelmen/ladies, we have a volunteer!
I considered that my sacrifice and patriotic duty was to serve in military service overseas for several years. You didnt choose to join the military, and I dont choose to pay additional taxes.
Since I gladly joined two military branches for this country and gladly served your duty for you, how about you pay my taxes for me? Fair?
#305
I’m a volunteer fireman. Does that count in your AMERICANS THAT MATTER list?
The reality is watershed is that you’re probably are a better teacher than the those in government schools. Million of private schools will create a multitude of musical variations. Think of private schools being like JAZZ. Constant variations with infinite possibilities.
OK, you got your FF1. National Cert? Got your EMT? National Cert? How about your paramedic? National Cert? Got your Red Card?
#307
Your assumptions are quite off base, in my opinion. the private and public sector, in terms of our discussion of music education, are quite in tandem. there are fantastic options in both. But you just want to ASSUME that the public sector is getting it wrong.
LOL, ok im done. Im trying to rehydrate with the absolute opposite of what you want to rehydrate with. …. I’ll be over there ====>>>>> for a while .
And my computer is yelling at me that it wants to reboot to update itself.

Rabid. Guy.
You put your foot in your mouth. It’s cool. It happens all the time. I am gonna let you slide. I’m cool like that.
How about a issue discussion, instead of a gotcha thing? Is that possible?
joe the plumber should be left alone.
Not getting it wrong . They limit the possibilities.
The basic argument is applied to the inefficient large federal government and the much more efficient state and local authorities.
It applies to the original discussions and the solution in the constitution which was to use the states as multiple and more efficient administrators of law.
Variety is best in music and government.

Bottom line-
you believe in the ME.
I believe in the WE.
You are my hero. The Army was alright, except people shooting at me, but taxes hurt to this very day..

foot in my mouth? no. its simple enough, i dont feel the need to pay more taxes. what policy discussion is that? Just because Biden said that its patriotic to pay more taxes, doesnt make it so. but lets vote on it, I’ll spot you two months and 4 Acorn registrars.
fiscal conservatism seems more patriotic to me. sending more of my money to people that were too busy skipping school, cant be bothered because they are building a meth lab or are too ignorant to know you dont get a variable rate mortgage in a housing bubble doesnt appeal to me.
if you want to pay more taxes, then feel free to walk down to the tax recruiting office and sign on the dotted line. oh wait we cant, its not voluntary.

Philip J. Berg is Appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court as Obama is “NOT” qualified to be President of the United States
There is a good reason why Obama is paying big bucks to lawyers. If a natural born citizen were running for President, he or she wouldn’t mind proving they meet the Constitutional requirements for the job.
Obama thinks investigating “Joe the Plumber” is of great importance, but we shouldn’t DARE ask him to produce a certified birth certificate.
…even when his paternal grandmother says she was present at Barack Hussein Obama II’s birth…IN KENYA!!!
Waterboard,
1) Obama is not winning. The MSM is lying. And Obama is trying desperately to get enough ACORN-produced fraud to steal the election.
2) Have you seen how many Democrats are voting Republican this year for the FIRST TIME EVER?
3) What are you going to say if/when the Supreme Court requires Obama to prove that he is a “natural born citizen of the United States”, and he is unable to do so?

I think so.
Can you say PUMA?
You what I love about Barack Obama?
He’s such a uniter…
…uniting Democrats and Republicans against him!
Not only has Obama failed to prove he is a “Natural Born Citizen”
(sorry libs, the forged “Certificate of Live Birth doesn’t cut it),
Obama’s working relationship with Ayers means that it is time to enforce Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
Is anyone in NYC or LA going to act on the Action Alert?
I hope when this is over it is years till I hear the word change again in politics. I am so sick of it. augh!

If Obama steals the election, “He’s gonna change it, rearrange it” and you’ll never hear the word “change” again.
The laws on the books at the time of Obama’s birth required the U.S. citizen parent to have resided in the United States for ten (10) years, five (5) of which were after the age of fourteen (14). Obama’s mother was only eighteen (18) years old when Obama was born in Kenya, so she could not give him U.S. Citizenship.
It appears that..
1) He was born a Kenyan citizen.
2) He became an Indonesian citizen when he was adopted by his step-father.
3) Today he is either a Naturalized (not Natural born) Citizen, or he is an illegal alien.
Obama…the “undocumented” candidate.
No not in 1961. With that line of thought, he would have been a British subject at that time. Kenya didnt exist as an independant nation until 1963.
And his citizenship depends on the assertation of his MOTHER as to what his citizenhip would have been. That is noted on his original BC but I am sure that the courts would side with whomever – that since he was born on American soil then there is nothing to see here so we can just move along.
Im amazed – we can see Britney Spears without panties because its our right, but we cant fully vet the people running our country.
Baaaaa
It doesn’t matter because they don’t want it to matter. All that matters is that the Liberals get both houses and the Oval Office. After that…who cares. If he gets hung out to dry, they make money off the ad revenues and rise in crculation. Watch how fast the MSM plays dumb and innocent, as well as act shocked by all that comes out.
No, neither the…err…”privacy advocates” nor the “media” will come to Mr. Wurzelbacher’s aid.
NOT HOLDING MY BREATH, EITHER.
Too much cynicism these days out there.
On a positive note on McCAIN / PALIN ‘08 :

Right, so to lump them ALL into a group is rather absurd, right?
Whoops #354
BroBama does remind me of the X-Files-Waterboard 2. That the Birth Certificate question never is mentioned in the Drive By speaks volumes.
I needed a Birth Certificate:
To enter high school-sports
Join the Army
College-needed both DD-214 and Birth Certificate
But I am only of the Fly-over.
But we are in the era of everyone’s life in on a searchable data base-Joe the Plumber being but an example. Yet BroBama need not provide a Birth Certificate. Challenge He Who Has Come?
Should the Anointed One be elected President of the Caliphate the infidels will be dealt with. Waterboard will have found a home.
Hey Watershed,
Go back to the other thread and explain why thinking Obama is a socialist is delusional. Your responses in the other thread were declarative but not explicative.
For instance, #85.
Merely claiming that it is “unfounded” does not explain and makes it look like you’re ducking the question.
It is amazing how easy it is to hear the crickets chirping when there is an invasion of a citizen’s privacy by or through a government agency when that citizen embarrasses and/or opposes the preferred candidate of those who vocalize their (perpetual?) outrage over such things as the Patriot Act.
(In the interest of full disclosure, if a part(s) of the Patriot Act are properly determined to be unconstitutional, then so be it. Until then, it is the law of the land. Anyone “charged” under the Patriot Act can and should challenge the validity of those charges in the court system as has been THE way to properly address such concerns for over 200 years.)
What concerns me is that if Obama and Democrats win in November, especially if there is a Democrat super majority, is this. Will the Patriot Act or at least those provisions considered potentially unconstitutional be repealed by the new Congress? What I suspect is that once in power, the Democrats will do an about face and begin to use Patriot Act powers to go after their enemies and other opponents.
I pray that I am wrong, but…Excuse me. There’s a knock at my door. What!? What!? Hey!?!

First, I pray that they don’t get complete power, so we don’t have to find out.
But I agree with what you are saying. I believe that the Democrats actually wanted the Patriot Act, but acted like they didn’t. Deception on a grand scale.
We don’t have to wait for the election…ask Obama today if he would push for the repeal of the Patriot Act. I HIGHLY doubt that he would say he wants it repealed.
I’m a little confused. If the birth certificate he posted on his web site for about 2 hours stated his race as african-american when the term wasn’t invented yet, how come no msm has reported this ad-nauseam?
waterhead, mj, nyk? Any stupid comments?
Just out of idle curiosity – what does the Patriot Act have to do with this? Maybe I’m missing something here.
Waterhead is on this blog to irritate you and draw out some goofy comments so he can feel superior. He is the kind of person who will be back and gloat after 11/4. Who needs that?
Just ignore him – he’s not that smart anyway.
hang on folks.. this is only going to get worse
And there I was…. in Galveston standing on the deck of my ocean front beach house, looking down at the road covered in water and thinking, “Nah, the water cant get any higher…”
redpill and rooster spread disinformation.
You can still see the birth certificate on-line .
Just google for it. Took me ten seconds.
It doesn’t say Barack’s race is African-American. It says his father’s race is African.
Since his father was an East African he may not want to have listed himself as a “Negro”, since that was an American term not used in West Africa to describe oneself, AND “negroes” were the descendants of West African slaves.
In any case the state of Hawaii vouches for the certificate as accurate. You think all the bureaucracts in that state are engaged in a coverup?
And unless and until someone produces some EVIDENCE (not hearsay) about Barack being born in Kenya, Hawaiian docs trump Kenyan hearsay.
Also, Berg’s claim that Barack lost his American citizenship when his Indonesian step father adopted him is just plain bullshite — NO COURT has ever agreed with such a claim. In fact, the Supremes say the opposite, that you can’t “lose” your validly-obtained citizenship through ANY act other than formally renouncing it.
Barack was six and thus unable to legally renounce his citizenship.
This line of wishful thinking is an utter waste of time.
Better to concentrate on Barack as radical socialist who will take our earnings & savings and destroy our freedom
There you go, folks!
Watershed has outed himself as un-American to the core, in that he does not ascribe to the fundamental principle of the US Constitution, which
sets forth a limited system of government and a list of individual, not collective, rights built around the idea of LIBERTY.
Watershed, please enlighten us and explain how the “we” is defined, and what should the fate be of those who choose not to be absorbed into it, instead seeking to retain their individual liberties as guaranteed by the Constitution.
#366
Thank for stepping into that. Love it!
My idea of WE is we the people , as in…
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
But you go ahead and tell me how the word WE is somehow un-American.
You’re not very up on your American history, or the preamble to your own Constitution, are you, Fulldroolcup?
Why do you keep responding to that fool?
Somehow I am envisioning the Snoopy happy dance at the moment…
Here’s my idea for a McCain ad:
Joe the Plumber. An ordinary middle-class American. Approached one day by Senator Obama on the campaign trail. All Joe did was ask the Senator a question about taxes. Obama said that he just wants to “spread the wealth around”. The answer by Senator Obama has caused a lot of uproar and has prompted many Americans to question what exactly the senator means by spreading the wealth. Well, these questions are not well liked by the Obama campaign and now many of his supporters, including many journalists, have been investigating Joe the Plumber.
A local reporter in Florida asked Joe Biden some pretty tough, but fair questions regarding Senator Obama and his plans for the country. As a result of being asked some tough questions, the Obama campaign has blacklisted this news station from having any further access to the Obama campaign.
A 527 group runs an ad stating facts and and asking questions about Obama’s relationship with a domestic terrorist. As a result, the Obama campaign asked the Justice Department to investigate the group to see if they violated any laws. Luckily the Justice Department rejected this request.
McCain should have a commercial pointing out to the American people how Senator Obama and his supporters will go after and investigate anyone who dares to exercise their right and ask some tough questions of The One, including an ordinary middle class American. It should go to great lengths to make sure that people understand that in an Obama administration that Justice Department could then be ordered, not asked, to conduct an investigation.
McCain should look into the camera and ask Senator Obama if this is part of the Change that he wants to bring to the country. And say to Obama that I bet this isn’t the kind of Change Americans are hoping for.
And he should ask Obama to please stop using these kind of Gestapo or McCarthy era techniques to stifle free speech. And ask Obama if he has a problem with freedom of the press and free speech. And ask if this is the reason why many mainstream journalists are not asking him any tough questions. And ask him that if he does get elected, do ordinary Americans be afraid of being investigated for questioning the government.
I don’t have the ability to express myself eloquently and I know nothing about marketing or campaigning. But what does McCain have to lose? The McCain campaign is free to use this idea if they choose. I don’t know if it’s a good idea, but he needs to plant this seed in the minds of the American people. Obama plans on running a hour an hour commercial, why can’t McCain run one for about two or three minutes, just pointing out how similar an Obama administration would be to communist governments during the cold war.
#369
Somewhat, yes! Its always good to show someone the preamble. It’s a great read.
Too bad that you probably are incapable of comprehending the meaning of our constitution sh!tberg!
Don’t step in the poo. Waterhead only believes in the “we” when it somes to your wallet.
