Ohio official who snooped Joe the Plumber’s records is an Obama donor

Of course.

I ask again: Will the privacy champions come to Joe the Plumber’s defense?

More: Ohio’s inspector general is investigating

Ohio’s inspector general is investigating why a state agency director approved checking the state child-support computer system for information on “Joe the Plumber.”

Helen Jones-Kelly, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, confirmed today that she OK’d the check on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher following the Oct. 15 presidential debate.

She said there were no political reasons for the check on the sudden presidential campaign fixture though the Support Enforcement Tracking System.

Amid questions from the media and others about “Joe the Plumber,” Jones-Kelley said she approved a check to determine if he was current on any ordered child-support payments.

Such information was not and cannot be publicly shared, she said. It is unclear if Wurzelbacher is involved in a child-support case. Reports state that he lives alone with a 13-year-old son.

“Our practice is when someone is thrust quickly into the public spotlight, we often take a look” at them, Jones-Kelley said, citing a case where a lottery winner was found to owe past-due child support. “Our practice is to basically look at what is coming our way.”

Ohio Inspector General Thomas P. Charles confirmed today that he is investigating the incident to determine if “Joe”s” records were legally accessed by Job and Family Services employees.

The use of a state computer system to search for information on Wurzelbacher is the fourth uncovered by The Dispatch.

How the hell dare she! I know how, nothing will come of this. State agencies that oversee “child support” are run by a bunch of man hating women. I say that and I’m a woman. I’m all about fairness though and these women are allowed to use their power to excecute their own vitriol hatred. In this case towards a white male who opposes their candidate. Shame! Those that support him are just like him. They are void of any character, inner strength, morality or a strong sense of fairness and right or wrong. Bottom feeders!
Give these people a little responsiblity and power and they will abuse it everytime. Please show me I’m wrong.

It seems the digital recordkeeping approval recently granted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) has piqued their curiosity. With a virtual Form 4473 in existence, we should be on the lookout for a new record-keeping initiative that will “simplify” the hassles of off-site digital record storage by allowing FFLs to, say, store the information on secure governmental servers. Of course, the government will never access the information.

For the love of God, this is a man running for PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.! How can he get away with anything but COMPLETE transparancy? Why aren’t our citizens demanding this??? People are just blindly voting for him because he is a good speaker and is convincing. As many have pointed out before me, So Was Hitler!

Technically that is legal as you are allowed up to $2300 for the Primary and another $2300 for the General and the Dem’s primary was still going on. Probably why it was listed in 2 seperate donations.

These followers remind of the maddening crowds who turned out to worship Hitler at rallies in those WWII filmstrips our teachers use to show us in grade school.

The implications of such blind idol worship and the potential for mob-mentality to take hold are really quite frightening when one stops to think about it.

    Lexington Alarm April 19 1775
Major Pitcairn arrived on horseback and ordered, “Lay down your arms, you damned Rebels!” A second mounted officer said, “Disperse ye Rebels!”. A third cried out, “Damn them, we will have them!” At that minute the Crimson Red Coats of the 10th Light Infantry formed 3 fearsome battle lines.
Seventy brave men turned out on that great green. Fifty-two fled unhurt. Ten more were wounded. Eight brave and yet free men while they breathed their last lay on the Lexington common, never to be counted as common men again.

The War ended. The Revolution continues.

1 it has already been stated that Joe lives alone with his 13 year old son (so how would he owe child support on the son that lives with him)

2 Like a previous commenter noted if this was all routine then why would they use a test account to check him out wouldn’t they just use their own account.

3 Why did the information found in said check make it into the hands of the media (an obvious breach of privacy)

    1. Maybe he has other children not living with him?
    2. I don’t have an answer to that because it requires mind reading ability.
    3. I wasn’t aware any information was leaked. What was it? That there was no information to leak? If there had been some dirt, would it have been leaked? Maybe. That would be more telling.
I still think it could have been legit. But, knowing all the dirty tricks of the left, I am suspicious too!

anyone of these alone might hold water but all three not buying it. As for the information leaked…one of the four accessed times leaked the information about no plumbers license and the lien due to back taxes. Granted there is no proof (as of yet) which of the four checks lead to the leak (or if it was a combination of them or all of them).

I’m just saying, that may be one way to find deadbeat dads…by checking on someone who is in the limelight. They could be searching for Joe the Plumber because he is behind in his child support payments and is hiding from his obligations. I used to work in human resources. The payroll department had to check with child support services on new hires to make sure the new hire didn’t have an obligation that required a garnishment of wages. I’m not saying this is what happened, but it COULD have been that way. Couldn’t it? I don’t want to argue the point…just giving an opinion, whether anyone agrees or not.

Were all the invasions of Joe’s privacy done by the same people? If not, then one of the “invasions” could have been a ligitimate deal. The child support agency could have been legit, even if the other snooping wasn’t. I guess I feel this way because when I was in HR, we encountered quite a few deadbeats trying to skip out on their obligations to their kids. Any way they can find these people, they will try.

Right – and it’s bothersome how frenzied some them appear to get over his promises of making the rich, a.k.a., the people whom we are intricately dependent upon for gainful employment, pay their “fair share.”

Should Obama win, have no doubts about it, unemployment rates will triple in this country.

Not true. The child support is agreed upon in the final dissolution of marriage (if married). The agreement could state that he pays child support to the mother and that she has custody. Afterwards, she can do what the heck she wants and he still has to pay UNTIL he changes the final order which (coming for someone who has been there) will NEVER happen. So, she can abandon the kid and the dad could be keeping the child but he is still on the hook for the support. If he stopped paying, he is in arrears. He cannot stop paying just because his child is living with him full time. The system is still skewed towards the female – it just is and don’t tell me otherwise.
