Question: When is asking for photo ID not racist?

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 28, 2008 09:05 PM

Answer: Only when race card-playing Barack Obama, opponent of photo ID requirements at the voting booth, is worried about security at his Election Night party in Chicago.

This is just too, too rich.

Nope Obama did the same when he gave his speech in Denver. They all had to go through check going in but they needed ID to get in.

Obama only wants ID when he can make money off of it.

From an old post I did at the time

The Obama campaign has started contacting people who will receive tickets to see the Democratic candidate give his acceptance speech at the Denver Broncos football stadium.

Tickets must be picked up in person on Saturday or Sunday at one of 13 Obama campaign offices across the state. Those picking up a ticket must show a photo ID then activate their ticket online, by phone or in person by Aug. 19.

But what I’m wondering is if the Secret Service is making him do that. I know that both campaigns don’t allow signs, even though people bring them anyway. And if Daley is right about a million people, how are they going to check all of those IDs? Man, I’d hate having that job.

Please read what I posted Mookie. They people had to show ID JUST TO GET THEIR TICKETS. Obama was no where near the ticket outlets.

And they screened the people going into the stadium. Was no way a weapon could get in via someone not showing their ID.

No, I read what you posted. Is it possible that the Secret Service required that information? People were screened going into both conventions so wouldn’t the same rules apply to the speech outside? I understand that you’re talking about needing an ID to just pick up the tickets.

Actually I think asking for ID is downright sane. In fact I support the call for a national ID.

I think the issue is that it is hypocritical to ask for ID at some times & oppose it at others (like when voting).

I believe it might be, but the Service normally likes at least six months to go over a guest list to vet the people on it. But they also would not have it in an open park at night either. That can and may very well cause way too many problems.

There are a great many good men and women in the Service, and I feel even more sorry for them now than I did when the Clinton’s cursed them and treated them like furniture. I could never do their jobs, but I still feel for them.

I have to wonder what that party may be like if McCain wins. Of course that has been taken care of already, so we all know Obama is going to be victorious, sadly.

Agreed to a point. I’d prefer that there be no income tax at all.

The country did perfectly well without it for a very long time. If it weren’t for redistribution of wealth, corruption, social security, bailout plans, and all the rest, we could still do perfectly well without. A national flat tax, fair tax, tarrifs, or other consumption based taxes would be just as well and far less intrusive.

Problem solved on people voting who don’t pay taxes.

Privacy is a delusion. If you have a credit card or a cell phone they know where you are. Google can find your house in milliseconds and show you a nice picture of it… and that’s only the public satellite photos. Biometrics are everywhere and growing. A law was just passed in England that all police departments will have fingerprint scanners, the size of an ipod. If you are stopped for any reason; traffic, too loud in a bar, etc. Your prints will be scanned and checked against a database. Not too many people are going to be asking cops for directions in England!

When I handed in my permit application, the sheriff said “just wait a moment… you’re ok… permit will be mailed to you in…” In the 30 seconds I was standing there, he checked two state and two federal databases and cleared me.

In the old days, everyone you came in contact with knew you and could vouch for you (or condemn you) and that was important for you to get along in the world. Later, we had Notary Publics who were persons known to be of good character and established that you were who you claimed to be. Now, we gather electronically and call ourselves Klaatu so we can be someone else.

Things may change under the Obama plan. Then, I think that if the government is coming to get you and they go to the neighbor’s house by mistake, the “government agent” will say “close enough” and take the neighbor.

While a valid point, that is not the argument that the Dems use to denigrate Voter ID laws. We all know the left does not like idea of ID because said requirement makes it so much more difficult to perpetrate fraud.

I’m not at all thrilled by what I call the “Carlos Mencia” style of humor which is all the rage today. It is practiced primarily by pop-culture media liberals who are too lazy to develop humor about the true human condition, and would rather just do a riff on a stereotype of some sort or another.

It has no place in any serious discussion that centers upon what conservativism should be concerned with over all else: the preservation and promotion of individual human freedom.

Jokes about friend chicken, lawn jockeys and all the rest diminishes the struggle against the slavery of collectivism, and leaves us all the more vulnerable to its devices.

That is funny. It won’t help me though. I don’t have any neighbors as ugly as me, for the ‘Re-edukation Squad’ to mistake for me, when they come to retrieve me for my sin of doubting and resisting the new order of ‘change’.

Please don’t anyone mention that ‘armed resistance’ will be futile. You know the goons will come armed anyway! When they do come for ol’ trav, I may just have a little sumpthin’, sumpthin’ for them to think about when they get here. :)

Yeah, let’s see BHO’s REAL birth certificate, not that phony COLB posted on his web site. He was born in Kenya but has fraudulently claimed to be born in Honolulu. He’s ineligible to be POTUS, but is so deeply mixed up in this conspiracy that all he can hope for is for all his crooked Dem lawyers to keep piling on the motions that keep the real records from being revealed to his fawning followers. Of course they probably have no clue what the Constitution says regarding natural born citizenship, since all they learned in the worthless public school system was self-esteem.

But jokes are sometimes the first chip in the armor. Remember that the White European Male was not instantly denigrated to his current position of “font of all evil and stupidity” immediately. First came the jokes. We were bad dancers, stiff stodgy workaday morons who smoked a pipe and listened to Mantovani. Either that or we were blue collar jerks who beat our wives and said Shudddap you meathead dere! The other side found out they could make us amusing, then they realized they could enslave us.

These few small jokes are just a testing of the waters, people realizing they won’t die if they stop seeing blacks as a protected class of people who are far superior to eeeevil Whitey. After the jokes comes the serious work of Truth. That will be our salvation from Marxism. If we are not allowed to see the truth, we are already in the Stalinist prison camp that Obama has prepared for us.

Well, here’s the problem with a voter ID; it will have the voter’s picture on it. So, when the African American comes to vote, the election official will request to see the ID, look at the picture and say, “AH-HA! You’re BLACK! I caught you! You can’t vote here!” As you can see, IDs are clearly racist.
